Adyathmic Discussion --374 (Guru & Godmen)

Trev Light Bown:- Why do you give God man Meher Baba such high regard yet paint Guru in general as "I" thought awareness still lost in duality.

Nothing wrong with Meher Baba or any God men. They attract the followers that see truth in their words.

A God man Guru can be like a stage hypnotist, the entranced followers swoon in bliss for a time.

SK:- There is no need to discuss about Godman or guru in length because they are part and parcel of the duality.  Whatever I have to say about them, I have conveyed to your noble self and they are unimportant subject matter in pursuit of truth. Instead one must discuss ‘what is real?’  and ‘what is unreal?’ . What is Atman (soul or spirit)? and ‘what is Anatman(mind or matter) ?  On what standpoint the universe is unreal? How? and why? . ‘What is real?’  and ‘why it is real ?’, in order   unfold the mystery of the universe (mind).

Judgment based on the false self (ego or waking entity) leads untruth. People go on judging other people, and they do the same with themselves. People  go on judging their  thoughts, their  actions, what is good, what is evil, what should have been done, what should not have been done; and they are constantly creating conflict and conflict is part of  duality. Till there is conflict the duality will remain as reality.

Man continuously goes on judging creates anguish in him. Even those with whom we have no concern, we go on judging: this person is noble, that person is evil. This is attitude of the most of common people. In pursuit of truth we have to discriminate between ‘the real and unreal’ and ‘truth untruth’ by finding out ‘what is real?’ and ‘what is truth?’  to discard the ‘unreal or untruth’.

The business of the guru or Godman is not the concern  to the seeker of truth.  The seeker of truth is concerned about realizing the ultimate truth or Brahman. Therefore, he has only to appreciate only  about the wisdom propagated by the any guru or god men and he will reject the unwisdom.
