There lies a conscious awareness of difference between the dual[waking or dream] and non-dual[deep sleep] experiences

There lies a  conscious awareness of difference between the dual(waking or dream)   and non-dual(deep sleep) experiences . In order to avoid misunderstanding once for the entire main point of pursuit of truth it is necessary to elucidate some important points. One has to make sure by mentally  tracing the Formless  witness (knower)of the appearance of the dual (waking and dream)] and non-dual (deep sleep) experiences.

Without that Formless  witness, it is impossible to experience the dual and non-dual experiences .  Thus, it is necessary to focus complete attention on the formless  witness, to realize the fact that, the formless  witness of the three states of experiences , is the true self. On the standpoint of the formless  witness, all the three states of experiences  are mere illusion.

The inquiry analysis and reasoning revels the fact that,  the physical body is not the self. And it further reveals the fact that ‘I’ is not the self, but ‘I’ is the mind. mind is in the form of universe and universe   appears  as waking or dream and disappears as deep sleep. The formless  substance and the  witness of the ‘I’ is the true self. Therefore it becomes necessary to view and judge the worldview on the base of the formless  witness of the ‘I’, in order to unfold the mystery of the mind  or universe or waking and  and  to realize the un-contradicted truth or non-dual truth. That formless  substance and witness is Atman or consciousness . Thus Atman or consciousness is the true self.  It goes without saying people can never get the truth, who view and judge and theorize and philosophize on the base of ‘I’ as self.

Only on the base of ‘I’ as self, birth, life and death, world, heaven, hell, sin, personal god and religion are reality. But on the base of  consciousness or Atman as self, they are part and parcel of the mirage. Therefore the Waking is also as real as dream.  All the three state have to be viewed and judges independently. The happenings and individual experiences within the dream and waking are noting to do with the innermost self ,which is ever formless.  Therefore the individual conducts prescribed by religion yoga  are not the means to realize the  ultimate truth or Brahman.

The question is to find out; what is it that is aware of the appearance and disappearance of these three states, which appear and disappears in succession?  The physical identities with in the waking or dream are false identity within the false experience , therefore it is erroneous to view and judge the truth on the base of false identity. Until and unless one becomes aware of the formless  witness is the true self, and it is the eternal identity, and learns to view and judge the worldview on the base of the formless eternal identity the truth will not be reveled.

To begin with subject proper: he who actually begins inquire analyze and reason, threads the path in pursuit of truth, and begins to trace the obstacles and fatter on the pursuit, and will removes the obstacles and fatter by accepting the truth, and rejecting the untruth. And will have the yardstick to know what truth is, and what is untruth. Once he gets the yardstick to know the truth, the pursuit becomes easier and the truth starts unfolding on its own and he will have the firm conviction of un-contradicted truth.

One may look conscious, subconscious or at time completely unconscious of the experience of duality, but once he begins to realize the knowledge of the self, he at all times fully conscious of the true self. There does not then remain least doubt of uncertainty in connection with what he experiences in the experience of diversity, just as worldly person never feel any doubt about having actual body  or any uncertainty about the pleasant and painful sensations he gets through his gross body.

What happens just before one is about to start the truth pursuit, although he is aware of the fact that,  ‘I’ is not the self, there may be differences and doubts and confusions which has to be cleared by constant inquiry, analysis and reasoning  and assimilating un-contradicted truth.

As one goes deeper in inquiry he gradually starts feeling the tranquility of the non-dual self and feels the experience of diversity is mere mirage created out of the consciousness, which is the innermost  self.
