He who kills man’s creation sees heaven of non-duality only; the others see only hell of duality.

Many people know that the pleasures of this world are useless and even painful, yet they long for them. The only way to end this longing is to become aware of the truth of the true existence, and realize the physical existence is mere illusion then only all attachments to the physical existence will gradually drop away.

If one waits till all desires disappear to start his pursuit of truth, he will remain ignorant and become one with the truth unconsciously when the duality melts way on its own [death].

Why there was so much evil in the world, and why should evil-doers be more successful than good doers? If it were due to Karma, who made that Karma, and why should it be so arbitrarily dispensed – various karma to various individuals, which become the cause of so much misery and turmoil?

Soul /true self has no karma because it is formless. Man and the world are creation within the mirage [waking/dream]. Thus the theories created by within the mirage have no value.   The soul/true self is free from karma. The karma is reality only for those who think the ‘I’ as self and waking as reality. If one becomes free from the ignorance of the true self, there will be no varied individuals and no varied karmas; misery will thus disappear. He who kills man’s creation sees heaven of non-duality only; the others see only hell of duality.

“It is every religionists experience that evil-doing recoils on the doer sooner or later. Because he is not aware of the fact that, the soul is the true self and thinks the religious theories are true which are based on the false self or ego. Thus religion views and judges the worldview on the base of the body not the soul. Religion becomes a false notion on the base of the soul as self. Thus it is necessary to know the fact and realize the ‘ego’ is not the self, but the soul is the true self, to overcome the duality which we are experiencing it as reality.

So long as there is the sense of doership, there is the sense of enjoyment and of individuality. But if this sense of doer ship is lost through the practice of inquiry, analysis and reasoning on the true base, one become aware of the fact that the soul is the true self and the authorship of all the action is on the soul not on the body. Duality is overcome by nondual wisdom, Self-knowledge, which is the knowledge of beyond.

Seeker of truth should work without taking himself to be the author of his action, that is he should work remembering the soul is the true self and true author of the whole experience of duality. The waking experience which consists of man and the world has appeared without previous planning.

No one can remain inactive in duality because even inaction is also an action, in the experience of duality.  Whether one wills it or not the duality which consist of birth, life and death appears and disappears. It is therefore wise to learn to view and judge the worldview on the base of the soul, which is the true self to unfold the mystery of the mind.  Seeker has to realize the fact that, duality is mere mirage on the standpoint of soul as self.

Through path of love one cannot acquire Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana because love implies duality

Through path of  love one cannot acquire Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana  because love implies duality. Loves is possible between the two. In reality there is no second thing.  Thus love is emotional tool within the duality and it has its value within the threshold duality. Thus love is tool prescribed by the religion for the mass to live in peace and harmony in the worldly life.

Love, happiness and misery are part of the illusory reality. Creation is neither good nor bad; it is as it is because it is illusory reality.  Until we think duality as reality we bound to experience the burden and bondage as reality.

It is the human mind which puts all sorts of constructions on it, as it sees things from its own angle and as it suits its own interests within the illusion. Not becoming aware of the fact that experience of diversity which consists of man and universe is mere illusion is the causes of all the misery in the world.

Within the experience of duality one feels there the world is creation. And world existed prior to him and he is born in the world afterwards. But in reality there is neither creation, nor creator because the experience of diversity is created out of single formless clay.   Illusion is like cloud and it continues to move and when it is enlightened with coolness it vanishes and realizes it is mere water.

It is the human mind that created all difficulties in realizing the truth of its true existence, by imagining all sorts of theories based on the form to realize the formless reality. One has to realize the fact that the formless is prior to the form, how can one realize the truth, by theories   based on the form (ego or waking entity), which cease to exit without  the world and world ceases to  exist without waking or dream . And waking dream cease to exit without the formless witness.  Thus the waking  or dream which consist of the man and world are dependent on the formless for its existence.

The idea of god is creation of man. Man worship god in duality  or illusion. Man and the world do not exist in reality, because they are the part of the mirage created out of spirit  or consciousness or soul. Therefore, whatever man sees, knows, believes and experiences of the world is part of the mirage. Thus the godly business is reality due to inherited ignorance. For the truth seeker the truth itself is god. That is the soul or consciousness or spirit or Atman itself is god.

‘I’ am is merely an object to consciousness.

Atman is the soul. The soul is in the form of consciousness.  Consciousness  is permanent, and  ever present and only the three states change. There are no two self.  The permanent ‘self is consciousness. And the ego is the false self within the false experience of duality (waking or dream). The way to the Real self is through inquiry, analysis  and reasoning.

Consciousness  is ever-present, like the screen on which all three states moves like cinematographic pictures. While the pictures appear on it, it remains invisible. Stop the pictures, and the screen, which has all along been present, in fact the only object that has existed throughout, will become clear.

All these universes, humans, objects, thoughts and events are merely part of the waking  or dream.  Waking or moving like pictures on the screen of  Consciousness, which alone is real.

Waking and dream pass away, but Consciousness remains ever. Seeker must distinguish between the ‘true self, and the ego. ‘I’ am  is merely an object to consciousness. Consciousness, which is the true self  is the subject, which witnesses the ‘I’(waking/dream/duality) as a whole

One is born, lives sleeps, wakes up, eats and thinks, dies within the waking or dream. But the consciousness the true self is eternal existence, free from ignorance and illusion.

There was no mind is deep sleep. As soon as waking takes place the mind which contains, of a ready-made universe – including all men and creatures appears. The man – confronts universe in waking or dream. The waking or dream appears as a whole and disappears as a whole.  To examine it closely, one has to analyze the three states and trace the witness of the three states is formless and apart.

One becomes aware of the fact that, the universe or mind, which appears and disappears, is only form and shape is created out of consciousness and nothing else. The consciousness alone is positive proof and on the standpoint of the consciousness or soul as self, one becomes aware of the   falsity of this universe or mind, which is mere appearance. The one which appears as mind (universe) and disappears as no mind (soul) is consciousness alone. Therefore, the mind and soul are one in essence.

Mental analysis shows that, the existences of the formless witness, which witnesses the three states coming and going without a break. This, on closer analysis, is found to be that changeless, soul or consciousness itself.

It is for the seeker to know what appears as duality [waking/dream] and what disappears as non duality [deep sleep]

The cause and origin of the three states is Atman.  Atman appears as waking or dream and disappears as deep sleep. Thus it is for the seeker to know what appears as duality (waking or dream) and what disappears as non duality (deep sleep).

The body and the world are exists only in duality (waking or dream).  They are non-existent in non duality (deep sleep). To unfold this mystery one has to know what is mind and what is the substance of the mind.

Only in duality (waking or dream) one knows that he exists, in deep sleep the objective existence is absent.

One is aware of his body and sees his body moving and thinking. But he is unaware of the fact that he and his experience of the world are within the experience of duality (waking or dream).

One has to realize the fact that body also moving and thinking and being in all sorts of places in the dream while it is actually lying fast asleep. The dream is reality until waking takes place. The waking also is reality until the wisdom dawns.

Formless soul  or consciousness, the One and Undifferentiated, which by the manifold application of its powers produces the dual and non-dual experiences (waking/dream/deep sleep) and, in the end, withdraws the three states into itself, is indeed the self—luminous.

The Maker of all the three states, self—luminous and all—pervading, consciousness(soul)  dwells always in the three states as its formless clay and witness. Soul(Atman)   is revealed by the negative way, discriminative wisdom and the Knowledge of Unity based upon reflection. The one who knows the  formless soul or consciousness  as the innermost  self becomes one with the immortal self (soul or consciousness).

When there is no ignorance, there is no day or night, neither being nor none—being; the pure consciousness(soul)  alone exists. That immutable Reality is the meaning of "soul. From it has preceded the non-dual wisdom.

No one can grasp soul  ,which is in the form of consciousness  as separate entity apart from duality because it is the formless clay and the witness of the experience of duality thus it cannot be grasped as above, across, or in the middle.

Its form is not an object of vision; no one beholds it with the eyes. They who, through pure intellect and the Knowledge of Unity based upon reflection, realize soul  as the true self becomes one with the immortal.

By accepting karma theory one is accepting the false self, as real self, and false experience [waking] as reality

If one thinks Advaitic truth is the ultimate truth, then one has to drop all theories based on the physical body (waking entity or ego) as self, because Advatic truth is based on the soul, which is the true self.

By accepting karma theory one is  accepting the false self(waking entity or ego) , as real self, and false experience(waking)] as reality, therefore there is no need for self inquiry “Who am ‘I’ “, because one has  accepted the present physical identity and world as reality.  Self inquiry makes one realize the fact that, self is not the body. After knowing the fact that self is not the body, then it is erroneous to think again as the body as self, and holding the body based theories as reality.  Thus karma theory becomes a biggest obstacle in the path of inquiry and truth, because it does not allow the seeker to cross the threshold of duality.

The physical body and the world which exits only in waking or dream(duality) are impermanent and illusory in nature, because they appear and disappear as mind. The soul which is the formless substance and witness of the duality is permanent. Therefore, whatever is seen known and believed and experienced as real within the waking also is as real as dream.

Sri, Sankara in Aparokshanubhuti:-

   88. When the whole universe, movable and immovable, is known to be Atman, and thus the existence of everything else is negated, where is then any room to say that the body is Atman?

   89. O enlightened one, pass your time always contemplating on Atman while you are experiencing all the results of Prarabdha; for it ill becomes you to feel distressed.

   90. The theory one hears of from the scripture, that Prarabdha does not lose its hold upon one even after the origination of the knowledge of Atman, is now being refuted.

   91. After the origination of the knowledge of Reality, Prarabdha verily ceases to exist, inasmuch as the body and the like become non-existent; just as a dream does not exist on waking.

   92. That Karma which is done in a previous life is known as Prarabdha (which produces the present life). But such Karma cannot take the place of Prarabdha (for a man of knowledge), as he has no other birth (being free from ego).

   93. Just as the body in a dream is superimposed (and therefore illusory), so is also this body. How could there be any birth of the superimposed (body), and in the absence of birth (of the body) where is the room for that (i.e., Prarabdha) at all ?

   94. The Vedanta texts declare ignorance to be verily the material (cause) of the phenomenal world just as earth is of a jar. That (ignorance) being destroyed, where can the universe subsist ?

   95. Just as a person out of confusion perceives only the snake leaving aside the rope, so does an ignorant person see only the phenomenal world without knowing the reality?

   96. The real nature of the rope being known, the appearance of the snake no longer persists; so the substratum being known, the phenomenal world disappears completely.

   97. The body also being within the phenomenal world (and therefore unreal), how could Prarabdha exist ? It is, therefore, for the understanding of the ignorant alone that the Shruti speaks of Prarabdha.

   98. “And all the actions of a man perish when he realizes that (Atman) which is both the higher and the lower”. Here the clear use of the plural by the Shruti is to negate Prarabdha as well.

   99. If the ignorant still arbitrarily maintain this, they will not only involve themselves into two absurdities but will also run the risk of forgoing the Vedantic conclusion. So one should accept those Shrutis alone from which proceeds true knowledge.

The above proves that the karma is reality only on the base of false self, where one thinks body and the universes as reality. When one becomes aware of the fact that, the true self is formless soul, then the karma becomes part and parcel of illusion.   My point is that, if one accepts the karma theory as reality, he will never be able to come out of the ignorance. And ignorance makes him believe the cycle of birth, life and death as reality.  Thus the freedom which one is seeking will remain distant dream. For the one who accepts the birth life and death as reality, Self-knowledge is impossible.

Thus it is necessary for the seeker of truth to know the fact that, the body which is born, lives and dies is not the self. Since he is taking the body to be the self, he is experiencing the duality as reality.

As Sri, Sankara said:  When the whole universe, movable and immovable, is known to be Atman, and thus the existence of everything else is negated, where is then any room to say that the body (waking entity)is Atman(self) .

If body is not the Atman, the innermost self, then the karma theory has no meaning on the standpoint of the truth. Thus no second thing exists other then Atman, therefore why to view the worldview on the standpoint of the body as self (waking entity or ego) when the body (waking entity or ego) is the false self, and the Atman or consciousness  is the true self.

Essence of Astvakara is: Realizing Atman( consciousness) soul as self, the liberation is possible in this very life right here and right now, not in the next life  or next world.

Religion, theories scriptures and concept of god are   created as tool for conditioning the mass mind set, to control their individualized mind, to self judge, what is good and what is evil, with the fear of conceptual god, who will in turn punish them, or reward them with good or bad life, in life after life which is only illusion.  And this fear helps to maintain peace and harmony in the society to some extent. But man and world exist within the mind and mind is myth on the standpoint of the soul as self, thus all the theories based on the false hood, have no relevance in the realm of the non-dualistic or Advaitic  truth.

The direct path to the truth, is tracing the source from which the false arises

Many people quote non-duality without understanding it really in its highest aspect. One who calls himself a Gnani, but whose philosophy religion and mere quoting scriptures is really by heart he thinks he is a Gnani.  He does not know that what a scripture says is true or not because he is blindly accepted scriptures without verifying them and he quotes them as proof.

There are conflicting teachings in spiritual path and one gets confused as to which are true. People are not capable of knowing, which path is true path, because they do not know the proper test of truth.

Non-dual truth cannot be proved and realized on the base of scriptures.

Ashtavakara says that: scriptural knowledge and yoga are not the means to acquire Self-Knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.  Ramana Maharishi was realized the truth without any scriptures. Buddha rejected religion, scriptures and concept of god after he found them useless to acquire Self-Knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana  or non-dualistic truth after thoroughly verifying their validity.  And as one goes into deeper research on Advaita he finds the fact that,  Advaita is nothing to do with Vedas.

The present orthodox Advaita which is based on the Vedas is modified and introduced by Sri, Sankara to uplift the Sanatana Dharma, which was in ruins in the clutches of Buddhism and Jainism. Thus all the preaching of the orthodox  Advaita is based on the non-duality and practice is based on the duality.   The spiritual based (which was not based on Vedas) Advaita teaching of Sri, Sankara and Goudpada must have been  lost or destroyed.

As one goes deeper in research one becomes aware of the fact that Advaita is extension of Buddhism.  There was no Advaita in the Vedic religion or Sanatana Dharma prior to Sri, Sankara that is prior to 8th Century.   As one goes deeper in research one finds even the original non-dual teaching of Buddha has been lost in time and present teaching is mixed and messed with the local and regional religions wherever it existed.  But still we find the traces of Sri, Sankara’s and Buddha’s spiritual insights in some of the scriptures.

The orthodoxy has to be dropped if one has chosen the path of  Gnana or wisdom.

The orthodoxy is greatest hindrance in pursuit of truth because it makes the inborn samskara or conditioning more and stronger. Until this conditioning prevails it is impossible to grasp, assimilate and realize the non-dual truth. The orthodoxy is egocentric and egocentricity is greatest obstacle in path of truth.    The orthodoxy is indulging non-Vedic rituals because of add-ons and adulteration and such rituals leads one nowhere and it is waste of time and effort.   Thus orthodoxy is not for those who are seeking truth nothing but truth.  Mixing orthodoxy and preaching non-duality is foolish venture.

Therefore, it is necessary to for the seeker of truth to inquire on his own and realize the non-dual truth without any scriptures in this very life time, and make sure of Sri.Sankara‘s declaration world is myth and Brahman alone is real.

Thus by quoting one authority from one scripture, and another authority from another scripture, and trying to prove and realize the truth is like, trying to drain the ocean drop by drop.

Sri, Sankara says in Viveka Chudamani indicated that:-

56. Neither by Yoga, nor by Sankhya, nor by work, nor by learning, but by the realisation of one's identity with Brahman is Liberation possible, and by no other means.

58. Loud speech consisting of a shower of words, the skill in expounding the Scriptures, and likewise erudition - these merely bring on a little personal enjoyment to the scholar, but are no good for Liberation.

59. The study of the Scriptures is useless so long as the highest Truth is unknown, and it is equally useless when the highest Truth has already been known.

60. The Scriptures consisting of many words are a dense forest which merely causes the mind to ramble. Hence men of wisdom should earnestly set about knowing the true nature of the Self.

61. For one who has been bitten by the serpent of Ignorance, the only remedy is the knowledge of Brahman. Of what avail are the Vedas and (other) Scriptures, Mantras (sacred formulae) and medicines to such a one?

62. A disease does not leave off if one simply utter the name of the medicine, without taking it; (similarly) without direct realisation one cannot be liberated by the mere utterance of the word Brahman.

63. Without causing the objective universe to vanish and without knowing the truth of the Self, how is one to achieve Liberation by the mere utterance of the word Brahman? — It would result merely in an effort of speech.
64. Without killing one’s enemies, and possessing oneself of the splendour of the entire surrounding region, one cannot claim to be an emperor by merely saying, ‘I am an emperor’.

65. As a treasure hidden underground requires (for its extraction) competent instruction, excavation, the removal of stones and other such things lying above it and (finally) grasping, but never comes out by being (merely) called out by name, so the transparent Truth of the self, which is hidden by Maya and its effects, is to be attained through the instructions of a knower of Brahman, followed by reflection, meditation and so forth, but not through perverted arguments.

66. Therefore the wise should, as in the case of disease and the like, personally strive by all the means in their power to be free from the bondage of repeated births and deaths.

Sri Sankara clearly indicated that: - yoga, intellectualism, scriptural mastery is not the means to self-knowledge.  But by the realization of one's identity with consciousness, which is ultimate truth or Brahman, freedom from experiencing the illusion as reality is possible, and by no other means.

As Sri, Ramana Maharishi said: scriptural knowledge is conceptual divisions invented by teachers of philosophy by their excessive analysis. Where do all these concepts end? Why should confusion created and then explained away? Fortunate is the man who does not lose him self in the labyrinths of philosophy, but goes straight to the source from which they all arise.

Therefore when Ramana Maharishi indicated the direct path to the truth, is tracing  the source from which the false arises. Thus the source is the soul or  Atman, which is the innermost self. Atman itself is Brahman.  Thus it is necessary to view the worldview on the base of the source, which the true self, and formless substance and witness of the experience of diversity. Thus deeper inquiry, analysis and reasoning on the true base, one can acquire the self –knowledge in lesser time and effort.  The unity in diversity is possible only through Self-Knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana not by mastering the scriptural knowledge.

The simple reason is that the average person may have desire for knowledge but when the whole society is immersed in belief system and feeling himself   out of place because of societal fear and surroundings circumstances and he thinks it unfits him to pursue the path of truth.

That is why Buddha said:-
Do not believe a spiritual teaching just because:-

1. it is repeatedly recited,
2. it is written in a scripture,
3. it was handed from guru to disciple,
4. everyone around you believes it,
5. it has supernatural qualities,
6. it fits my beliefs anyway,
7. it sounds rational to me,
8. it is taught by a respectable person,
9. it was said to be the truth by the teacher,
10. one must defend it or fight for it.

However, only when it agrees with your experience and reason, and when it is conducive to the good and gain of oneself and all others, then one should accept the teachings, and live up to them."
....Buddha.

The seeker of truth is one who is ready verify and has courage to accept and reject the truth when he finds out what is truth and what is untruth. The meek will stick to their inherited conditioning remain experiencing duality as reality.

The scriptures and theories and teaching based on the ego are not the yardstick. Using them as yardstick to understand and assimilate the ultimate  truth will lead one towards pursuit of arguments. Seeker of truth has to discover on his own, the truth of his true existence by inquiring “what is mind?” and “what is substance of the mind?” and move forward.
