By holding on to theories one remains in the realm of duality

By holding on to theories one remains in the realm of duality. One has to mentally go on dropping what is not truth through deeper self-search. Finally when one becomes aware of the fact that, his ego, his body and the world are one in essence  than there is self-awareness in the midst of duality.  In nondual self-awareness, the ego is not considered as ego, even though ego is present, the body is not considered as body even though body is present, the world which confronts him is not considered as world even though the world is present , the duality ceases even though  the duality  is present  because of wisdom everything is considered as consciousness. Thus there is conscious oneness.
When self becomes aware of its formless non-dual nature it becomes empty of ignorance or illusion or duality or experience of waking or dream.  Thus whatever remains empty of duality or ignorance or illusion is non-dual reality. Only through wisdom one becomes aware of the truth in the midst of duality.

That is why "Sri, Sankara said: - Without causing the objective universe to vanish and without knowing the truth of the Self, how is one to achieve Liberation. -63- (VC)”

Universe in which we exist will not remain as reality when wisdom dawns. Universe is mere mirage created out of consciousness and there is conscious awareness of unity in diversity because there is no second thing exist other than consciousness.

The soul is the innermost self. The soul is present in the form of consciousness.  It is the soul, which was in ignorance, experiences the duality as reality. When it wakes up to its own true nature there is neither the ego, nor body, nor the world remains as reality.  The soul alone remains in its own formless nondual true nature, in   self - awareness.
T
he dream becomes unreal when waking takes place. Similarly the waking becomes unreal when wisdom dawns.  Limiting the consciousness to waking or dream (duality) is erroneous.  It was present even in deep sleep without the body and without the world (without waking or dream). If consciousness was no there is deep sleep than one will not say he had sound sleep in waking experience. Therefore perfect understanding of ‘what is what’ leads to nondual self-awareness in midst of duality.

For that one has to drop all the accumulated knowledge based on the ego (waking entity), which is the false self within the false experience (waking). And lean to view and judge the three states on the base of the formless soul or consciousness, the innermost self, because whatever based on the ego (waking entity) leads to intellectuality.
Intellectuality is based on individuality. Individuality is falsehood because the self is not an individual because it is formless. The formless soul or consciousness pervades in everything and everywhere in all the three states as their formless substance and witness. In the realm of truth the formless substance and witness are one in essence. The essence is consciousness. Thus consciousness alone is real and all else mere illusion because there is no second thing exist other than consciousness.

Adyathmic Discussion - 312

Karma theory is a hindrance in the path of truth because one accepts the false self as real self and false experience as real experience and he thinks all his action will yield fruits. Thus he will remain permanently in the realm of unreality or ignorance. Without getting rid of ignorance truth realization or Self-realization is impossibility.

When the self is genderless then it is impossible to get enlightenment through sexual intercourse or tantric sex. It is impossible to get freedom by taking sanyasa or renouncing the worldly life which is mere body based theories. When the self is not physical then what value is there to take sanyasa or renouncing the worldly life? One has to renounce the ignorance, which is the cause of experiencing the illusion [body+ universe] as reality.

If one thinks non-dual truth is the ultimate truth, then one has to drop all theories based on the physical body [I] as self, because non-dual truth is based on the consciousness [soul], which is the true self. --FORMLESS PATH

    • Nisarga Raman One has to drop all theories based on the physical body---Sir that appears to be pragmatic, but "who" is there to drop as "that" is also a false idea ?

Adyatmic Discussion--311

As Sage Sri, Sankara says:- When the whole universe, movable and immovable, is known to be Atman, and thus the existence of everything else is negated, where is then any room to say that the body is Atman.

If body is not the Atman/self, then the karma theory has no meaning on the standpoint of the truth. Thus no second thing exists other than Atman, therefore why to view the worldview on the standpoint of the body as self (ego or waking entity) when the body(ego or waking entity) is the false self, and the soul or Atman is the true self.

If body is not the self, then the birth, life, death and the universe are bound to be illusion. If birth, life and death are illusion then all conducts actions and their fruits are mere illusion. If body is not the self, then the existence of god, heaven and hell is mere illusion. If body is not the self then all religious beliefs of god is mere illusion. If body is not the self but the Atman (soul) which is in the form of consciousness is the true self, then there is no scope for second thing other than consciousness, therefore consciousness, which is Atman is Brahman or ultimate truth. The Brahman alone is real and eternal. Thus whatever is real eternal has to be identified as god. To identify the real and eternal, one has to overcome the ignorance caused by the illusion. To overcome the ignorance one has to acquire the Self-Knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana. ---FORMLESS PATH

Adyathmic Discussion -310

People say God is light, or god is light within. Some people think God is energy and they are separate from that energy. Some contend that God is sound and say, they hear the divine sound, sound inside in their meditation. Some say God is fragrant smell and that beautiful scent comes in their meditation as the presence of God. All these differences of opinion, they can be endless, show mutual contradiction and general error, that is lack of certain truth. Seeker has to realize the fact that if one sees a Light he is seeing it as a person, person is the cause of duality, and therefore there is no reality in his claim.

Yajur Veda:-
"They are enveloped in darkness, in other words, are steeped in ignorance and sunk in the greatest depths of misery who worship the uncreated, eternal prakrti -- the material cause of the world -- in place of the All-pervading God, But those who worship visible things born of the prakrti, such as the earth, trees, bodies (human and the like) in place of God are enveloped in still greater darkness, in other words, they are extremely foolish, fall into an awful hell of pain and sorrow, and suffer terribly for a long time."
[Yajur Veda 40:9.]

"Na tasya pratima asti"
"There is no image of Him."[Yajurveda 32:3]

"Ekam evadvitiyam"
"He is One only without a second." [Chandogya Upanishad 6:2]

"Na casya kascij janita na cadhipah."
"Of Him there are neither parents nor lord." [Svetasvatara Upanishad 6:9]

"Na tasya pratima asti"
"There is no likeness of Him." [Svetasvatara Upanishad 4:19]

"shudhama poapvidham"
"He is bodiless and pure." [Yajurveda 40:8]

"Na samdrse tisthati rupam asya, na caksusa pasyati kas canainam."
"His form is not to be seen; no one sees Him with the eye." [Svetasvatara Upanishad 4:20]

all this is refereed to Atman the innermost self . Atman is ultimate truth or brahman. ultimate truth or Brahman itself is god. thus the Atman which is in the form of consciousness is God. Thus Self-Realization is Truth -Realization. Truth- Realization is God -Realization. --FORMLESS PATH

    • Yogi Mahindra Nath The Lord is Formless is known to all. But people use various simbols to be able to focus their minds on God. These simbols are only a help to control one,s mind so that it can be concentrated on God.There is no harm in using the methods which ultimately help man attain to his goal. That is God realisation or Self realisation. We should not unnecessarily find faults in other,s approach to God. All is well that ends well.

In Vedas the God has been described as:-

      Sakshi (Witness)

      Chetan (conscious)

      Nirguna (Without form and properties).

      Nitya (eternal)

      Shuddha (pure)

      Buddha (omniscient)

      Mukta (unattached).

It clearly indicates all the gods with form and attributes are mere imagination based on the false self. Thus there is adulteration and add-ons in the past, which has to be bifurcated if one wants pure Vedic essence.

      In Yajurved says:-
      Translation 1.

They enter darkness, those who worship natural things (for example air, water, sun, moon, animals, fire, stone, etc).
They sink deeper in darkness those who worship sambhuti. (Sambhuti means created things, for example table, chair, idol etc.)
      [Yajurved 40:9]

      Translation 2.
"Deep into shade of blinding gloom fall asambhuti's worshippers. They sink to darkness deeper yet who on sambhuti are intent."
[Yajurveda Samhita by Ralph T. H. Giffith pg 538]

      Translation 3.

      So, Yajur Veda indicates that:-
They sink deeper in darkness those who worship sambhuti. (Sambhuti means created things, for example table, chair, idol etc [Yajurved 40:9]

Those who worship visible things born of the prakrti, such as the earth, trees, bodies (human and the like) in place of God are enveloped in still greater darkness, in other words, they are extremely foolish, fall into an awful hell of pain and sorrow, and suffer terribly for a long time." [Yajur Veda 40:9.]

When the religion of the Veda knows no idols then why so many gods and goddesses with different form and name are being propagated as Vedic gods. Why these conceptual gods are introduced when Vedic concept of god is free from form and attributes.

THE MASSES IN INDIA CRY TO SIXTY MILLION GODS, AND STILL DIE LIKE DOGS. WHERE ARE THESE GODS?

Knowing this, stand up and fight! Not one step back that is the idea. ... Fight it out, whatever comes. Let the stars move from the sphere! Let the whole world stand against us! Death means only a change of garment. What of it? Thus fight! You gain nothing by becoming cowards. ... Taking a step backward, you do not avoid any misfortune. You have cried to all the gods in the world. Has misery ceased? The masses in India cry to sixty million gods, and still die like dogs. Where are these gods? ... The gods come to help you when you have succeeded. So what is the use? Die game. ... This bending the knee to superstitions, this selling yourself to your own mind does not befit you, my soul. You are infinite, deathless, birthless. Because you are infinite spirit, it does not befit you to be a slave. ... Arise! Awake! Stand up and fight! Die if you must. There is none to help you. You are the entire world. Who can help you?

Mundaka Upanishad says:- The rituals and the sacrifices described in the Vedas deal with lower knowledge. The sages ignored these rituals and went in search of higher knowledge. ... Such rituals are unsafe rafts for crossing The sea of samsara, of birth and death. Doomed to shipwreck are those who try to cross The sea of samsara on these poor rafts. Ignorant of their own ignorance, yet wise In their own esteem, these deluded men Proud of their vain learning g o round and round Like the blind led by the blind.

And also in Isa Upanishads indicates that:- By worshiping gods and goddesses and going to the world of gods after death is of no use. The time one spends in ritualistic practices is wasted; one can spend same time moving forward towards Self-knowledge, which is the main goal. One cannot reach the non-dual destination by glorifying god and goddesses and by doing that, one goes deeper and deeper into darkness. It surely indicates the fact that, the seeker of truth has to drop the worshiping god and goddess in order to get Self-Knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.

It also indicates that, Religious Rituals (Avidya) is Karma (action) and therefore a hindrance. By performing Agnihotra and other sacrifices [Avidya] is a roundabout way of purifying the mind, and it is also groping in the dark.

In addition, it indicates the karma is limited only to the religious rituals, not on the whole human life. This karma theory based on the human conduct must have been adopted from Buddhism and other theories based on human conducts.
