The formless substance and witness of the form, time and space is apart , real and eternal.

Ultimate Truth or Brahman is no theory, no speculative system of philosophy, no intellectual insight. Ultimate Truth or Brahman  is exact correspondence with reality. For human, the ultimate truth is the unshakeable knowledge of his real nature, his true Self.

When one becomes aware of the fact that, the self is not the form but self is formless,  then idea of "Moksha “ introduced by religion  is falsehood, because it is mere an idea or imaginary "thing" introduced in the past by people who were tired of war/greed. It was also an attractive mirage for the the people who failed many times. So the rulers and priest craft of the past used it as a tool to lure mass towards religion.  The religion is based on the false self within the false experience.   The true self, which is the formless soul has no religion and no god .

The true self, which is in the form of consciousness pervades everywhere and in everything in all the three states.  Thus, the true self is beyond limits of form, time and space.  The  formless substance and witness of the form, time and space is apart , real and eternal.

Religion and its code of conduct are out dated and some religions are forcing and trying to impose its old law and code of conducts on people, in the name of protecting their religion and god by indulging in war and violence.

Some organized religion teaches very passive life which is not possible in present era. All Religions books are full of interest. Many religion have noble poetry in them; and some intellectual fables; and some violent history; and some good morals; and a wealth of obscenity; and upwards of a thousand lies.

People are groomed in such an imaginary society where there is no room for the investigation interrogation, and scientific analysis. They just believe what they have inherited from parental grooming societal and religious imposed conducts they never try to explore the truth. A blind faith is prevailing all around.

It is high time the people who find their belief system is inadequate and useless to quench their spiritual thirst to think about their belief system, think about the truth of their true existence. Many people read books or hear from someone and accept it accept them as truth.  And some people accept only the truth derived from logical thinking or intellectual understanding. Some accept only the truth, which comes from self-experience. But the non-dual truth comes only from reasoning based on the true self, which is formless consciousness.

People believe that they are spiritual, and talk about the ultimate truth. But the problem is they don’t even know the truth about their true existence, which is basic. Many People don’t read scriptures; they don’t?' know what scriptures contain. They just believe that they contain everything.

In pursuit of truth one should not accept anything blindly without verifying their validity. There is nothing metaphoric, scriptures are straight forward. They contain good as well as bad stuffs.

People think that they are spiritual because they believe on religion and its scriptures. Spirituality is the search of the ultimate truth or Brahman.  blind belief  cannot lead one to non-dual destination.   Truth cannot be found through imagination and gullibility. Truth can only be found through reality. Not only believers, non believers are also in the same boat. Without study, without inquiry, analysis and reasoning they just reject everything.

Inquiry and reasoning based on true self will lead to realize the ultimate truth. The inner path should be the the path of reality, the path of actuality. This is real spirituality.

The search must be made within to attain this supreme peace, by investigating what is mind and what is the substance of the mind

Everyone is seeking eternal peace and misery is most unwelcome to all creatures. Every living creature is engaged in some activity or the other only in search of eternal peace. But they have not   attained this peace because they are not aware of their formless true identity.  Instead they have gotten themselves entangled only in pain and pleasure because they are not aware of the fact that, the self is not form but the self is formless.  They have not been able to get this non-dual peace because they seek physical happiness from external objects, while the truth is that, non-dual peace is within the mind and the search must be made within to attain this supreme peace, by investigating what is mind and what is the substance of the mind.

All the pleasures that are derived from the world are trifles compared to that non-dual peace which is the Supreme. Hence, it would the greatest help if one could show the way to this eternal peace. The Self-Knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana  is the tool to non-dual peace which is the nature of the true self, which is in the form of consciousness.

In the state of non-duality where there is complete cessation of sense “I am the doer ", "the objects that are seen / perceived are different from the self, which is consciousness", so on and so forth. In this state, there is no misery or delusion in the realm of non-dual truth. There is delusion or misery for the one who has realized this non-dual truth. “Because he is fully aware the experience is mere mirage created out of consciousness.  Thus man and his universe is mere experience within the mirage.  In realm of truth there is no mirage only non-dual reality.

The mixture of pain and pleasure is inevitable to all beings that are born within the illusion, without being aware of the fact that they are product of illusion. the illusion is   in the form of universe.

Until man thinks he is the doer he is action oriented. In the realm of action he thinks he is an individual separate from the world. As an individual he has the conviction that, he is born in this world and world existed prior to him. Until this conviction is there it is very difficult to grasp the non-dual truth.

Deeper inquiry, analysis and reasoning revels the fact that,  the self is not the form [body or ego] but formless [soul or consciousness].  Therefore, if the self is formless, then, one which is born, lives and dies is not the self. If the self is birth-less then whatever seen, known, believed, experienced on the base of birth entity is mere myth.  Thus the birth entity and its experience of the world is myth hence the world where the birth, life and death takes place is myth.

The universe which is in the form of mind comes and goes as waking or dream is unreal on the standpoint of the true self ,which is formless soul ,which is in the form of consciousness.  The substance and witness of the mind or universe is consciousness.   Since, the formless substance and witness are one in essence there is no scope for existence for second thing.   Hence it is nondual.  Thus consciousness alone is real all else is mere mirage created out of consciousness.

As long as one believes the body as self, he is bound to believe his body as the doer. Until he thinks the body as the doer, he is bound to believe that, birth life, death and the world as reality. Until he believes the birth, life and death as reality he is bound to experience the illusion as reality. Without the consciousness the body and the world crease to exist.

The birth, life, death and universe are reality within the waking or dream.  The waking or dream is unreality on the base of the true self, which is consciousness.    Hence if one wishes to overcome the experience of birth, life, death and universe [illusion], he has to realize the fact that, the self is not physical but the self is consciousness.

This awareness of the consciousness without physicality is possible for the individual,  only if the root cause for the ignorance is completely destroyed. Ignorance arises only if one sees the objects of the world as external to him.  If there is no second object other then consciousness, then there is no room for any ignorance at all! Absence of ignorance leads helps one to overcome the illusory cycle of birth, life and death. Once a soul, the innermost self is out of this illusory cycle, there is no scope for experiencing the illusion as reality.  Hence this self-awareness is known as "Liberation" or “freedom”.

To get freed from illusory reality, following the same track, one must get rid of the 'Notion of diversity' which is the root cause of experiencing illusion as reality. This is the road to non-dual peace, which is the nature of the true self.

How does one know that, there is no diversity at all, when we have the cognition of this entire universe with all varieties in its creation?

The truth which is consciousness is the only reality and that the apparent notion of diversity (the root cause of all miseries) is only due to ignorance. If this ignorance is destroyed once then the knowledge of consciousness arises. Then one becomes fully aware of the fact that the consciousness is ultimate truth.

Once this self- knowledge arises, one is able to disconnect identity with the ego and identify with the true self, which is the consciousness. Thus consciousness is ultimate reality.

The ego, body and the world are part and parcel of the mirage

The ego, body, universe are mere mirage created out of soul, the innermost self, which is in the form of consciousness. Illusion   is like Banyan tree, which has roots above and branches below reaching the ground, where they root secondary trunks all around. One cannot recognize the beginning or the end; neither its shape. One has to  cut down this illusion with the sword of wisdom and realize the consciousness alone exists, all else is mere mirage created out of consciousness.  Thus, the ego, body and the world are  part  and parcel of the mirage. The one who is able to grasp this truth, he becomes aware the birth, life, death and the universe are unreal on the standpoint of the true self, which is consciousness. Thus being judgmental on the base of the false self (waking entity or ego)  leads one towards  imaginary truth.

The non-duality cannot be theorized. All theoretical non-duality is based on the false self.  All the religious based non-duality is based on the false self. Non-duality has to be grasped and realized only through self s-search not by reading books, hearing sermons, mastering the scriptural knowledge.

The seeker has to drop all the accumulated knowledge and verify the facts of his own existence.  There is neither sun nor moon or universe, body, but only the self, which is consciousness. The three states are part of the true self, which is in the form of consciousness. The three states are mirage on the standpoint of the formless soul, the innermost self.  The soul or consciousness is the formless substance and witness of the mirage. The  formless soul or consciousness, the innermost self can exists with or without the mirage. Thus consciousness alone is   real and eternal.

The ego, body and the universe are part and parcel of the mirage.  Thus the birth, life, death and the universe has no value in the realm of truth. Therefore judging the truth on the base of the ego  or waking entity  and the universe is judging the truth by holding the unreal (mirage) as reality.

Please note that the brilliance of the one sun shining over the whole world as also of the moon is consciousness. Consciousness pervades in everything and everywhere in the mirage, which is in the form of universe. The consciousness is within the mirage but it is without the mirage. The universe, which is in the form of mind, is myth. The formless substance and witness of the mind is real and eternal.

By Self Realization or Brahma jnana, one becomes a Brahmin."

In Vedic era  a Brahmin was a person who had attained Self- knowledge  or Atma Jnana. This was an extremely difficult path of discipline of body, mind , and intellect, and people irrespective of their birth or class, who dedicated to such an austere life were recognized as Brahmins.

A great example of this tradition (that a person becoming a Brahmin, rather than born as one) is the case of Vishwamitra, a warrior (kshatriya), who became a Brahmin after attaining Atma Jnana  or Self-Knowledge.

A smritis, or code of conduct composed by sage Atri defines brahminhood very clearly.
"By birth, every man is a Shudra (an ignorant person). Through various types of disciplines (samskaras), he becomes a dwija (twice born). Through the studies of scriptures, he becomes a vipra (or a scholar). Through realization of supreme spirit (brahmajnana), he becomes a brahmin."
The belief that people born in Brahmin caste, automatically become Brahmins, is a much later concept in the very ancient  India.  Thus, Brahmin means not caste but  one who has attained Atma Jnana or Bramha Jnana.

Rational proof is required, so that one arrive at knowing truth i.e. wisdom

Search for truth begins within the duality and ends with realization of non-dual reality. The ultimate truth has to be proved, not assumed.  People can interpret scriptures as they likes, in whatever way that pleases them, they simply imagine away.  There are many commentaries on the Bhagavad Gita by different authors. Each one goes on spinning yarns imagining as he likes what the meaning may be. But once one becomes aware of the fact that the self is not the body then he  will know what “Gita”  really meant, he will see that there is only one possible interpretation, irrespective of his  opinion or imagination.

Most people tend to follow a single guru or teacher. Therefore ,the more ignorant they are the easier to get them into a fold of belief system. Belief system is so strong and popular because it makes no demand on the intelligent: It simply requires belief in its founder or  saint.

Has it ever struck believers to doubt whether his belief system is true? Believers never use their reason because they start and conclude that their belief system alone is true, because they never question.

Theologissts say God is a perfect being, but they have never known God, never proved his existence; hence their ascription of perfection to Him is purely self-imagined.  It is   impossible to prove the existence of God by any reasoning.  One can only assume.

Yoga and mysticism are primitive things which appeals to the mass. But they are not the means to self-realization, because they are based on the false self, within the false experience.

Many teachers will declare that all is self, but none of them can show that this is so, none has analyzed it scientifically, and none can prove it. Rational proof is required, so that one arrive at knowing truth i.e. wisdom; theirs is mere dogma, parrotism, repetition of what they read in scripture.

Realizing the truth in the midst of duality [waking/illusion] is wisdom.

Many people think  that, they will lose all their sense of identity to their functioning ,if they do not get cling to which they feel to be a distinct, separate entity-their ego. But their ego also creates the feelings of separation, pain, and alienation as well. Can the sense of identity be found in a different mode of consciousness (perception), a more inclusive one?

When one becomes aware of the fact that, self is consciousness through wisdom, then he also becomes aware of the fact that, the body, ego, senses and the universe which are present in the waking experience or dream  are also consciousness.  And he becomes fully aware of the fact that, the formless  the formless soul or consciousness, the innermost self , is the witness of the three states, is apart, real and eternal.   Thus he becomes aware of the ultimate truth or Brahman (objectless  consciousness) in the midst of the duality (waking). Realizing the ultimate  truth or Brahman  in the midst of duality (waking or illusion) is wisdom.

One does not lose the physical experience (universe or mind) but he will be fully aware of the fact that, the three states are mere mirage created out of consciousness. By realizing the fact that, the self is not physical but self is consciousness, the mind becomes still to know that consciousness alone is real, and the mind (universe) in which the whole humanity exits is mere mirage created out of consciousness.

There is a need to drop all the pre-conceived ideas and accumulated dross and try to verify a fresh to understand and assimilate the non-dual truth. One should not make any teaching as a yardstick but one should verify all the facts by sound reasoning and overcome all the obstacles by realizing what is truth and what is untruth.

If one becomes aware consciousness is the true self, then all his judgment has to be based on consciousness [formless] as self, not on the ego or physical self (form). Then only it is possible to understand and assimilate the non-dual truth.  Since, everyone is judging the truth on the physical self [form or ego] which leads to doubts and confusion and one will land up in pursuit of argument.

People think that, the birth entity (ego) as true self and the world as reality.  And their judgement is based on the birth entity (ego). Therefore, they think human and world are real. Thus they think the self is born, lives and dies, whereas the self is never born and it can never die because it is formless.

Thus arguing on the base of the ego (form) is waste of time and makes one more egocentric.      Thus, there is a need to learn to view and judge the worldview on the base of consciousness as self, to overcome all the obstacles to reach the ultimate truth or pathless land, to realize the fact that, human and world are mere mirage created out of consciousness.

Within the illusion the ignorance dominates and makes one feel the three states as reality

Consciousness dwells and pervades all the three states thus there is no second thing other than consciousness when seeker realizes the true fact that, the self is not physical but the self is consciousness.

Within the illusion the ignorance dominates and makes one feel the three states as reality.  Thus man thinks that he is born in this world and world existed prior to him and he is born in it later on. Until this conditioning is there he bound to believe in birth, life and death as reality. Only when he becomes aware of the fact that the self is not form self is formless consciousness, he has to accept the fact that the birth, life, death and universe are mere illusion created out of consciousness.

The ‘I’ is not the self. Until one thinks ‘I’ is the self , he is bound to be in the grip of illusion.  Many thinkers of the past and present hold  that, “I” or “I AM” as the self. It is erroneous to hold ‘I’ or “I AM” as the self, because the self cannot be identified with word or words.  The words are indicator to an object.  When the self is the subject and it can never be made an object.  Until we search the truth on the base of object, it is impossible to trace the subject.

As person with the name one gets caught up in the web of duality becomes unaware of the true self.  Thus one has a strong conviction that he is born in this world and he perceives the world and his experience of the world as real.  But he is unaware of the fact that the he and his experience of the world are within the mind, which appears as waking or dream. The waking is parallel dream and dream is parallel waking experience.

Only when the seeker has the serious urge to know about the truth of his true existence and when he inquires, analyzes and reasons deeply in to the nature of the mind then he will be able discover and realize the fact that ‘ the self is not form but the self is formless .

If ‘I’ is not “Self”, then what is “Self” without the “I”, when this seed of doubt is planted the inquiry will go on and on till it reaches its goal, which is the truth of its true existence which is ‘I’-less or formless.

Many who or contemplative have been haunted by certain profound questions in human life:

·         What is this life?

·         Who is the author of this life?

·         What is the purpose behind this experience of the World?

·         From where this experience of the world perceived only through the perceiver has appeared?

It should be borne in mind however these question pertaining to the realm of spirituality where the authenticity of the answers cannot be established under laboratory conditions unlike in the case of modern science. That is why all these questions have been begging for answers down the ages.

The fundamental question “Who am “I””, is the starting point of spiritual quest.  When in finding answer to who am ‘I’ the seeker will discover and realize the fact that ‘I’ is not self but ‘I’ is the mind  which is in the form of the whole  waking or dream experience . Thus ‘I’ is mere an experience, not experiencer. Thus ‘I’ as “Self” is false identity. Searching truth as ‘I’ as experiencer or ‘Self is erroneous. ‘I’ is false identity and also ‘I’ is false experience. This ‘I’ means illusion.

The religion, yoga or modern science is no way related to pursuit of truth or “Self Realization.

The journey of “Self Realization “begins with the first step. It is very much necessary to discuss the basics, whether “Self Realization” is related to religion, yoga and modern science or any other subject. The religion, yoga or modern science is no way related to pursuit of truth   or “Self Realization.

In the formative years, the religious propensities of an individual are shaped and formed initially by parents, which is substantial. These inherited religious samskaras or conditioning  handed down as a precious legacy from one generation to the next generation.

Religion conditions the mind into man. Man into personality, to be, to behave, to believe and to live as a person in the world, which is duality. Therefore religion is only a mind game. Thus with religious worship, rituals, prayers, way of living it is impossible to unfold the truth of the true existence, because religion is based on the false self within the false experience.

Leading life of religious orthodoxy in strict accordance with moral and ethical conduct is only good and helpful lead a life within the world, which is part of the illusory Waking experience. Orthodox way of life is not a qualification for realization of truth. All these religious and yogic conducts like faith, belief, devotion, service, and yogic-Samadhi will make the seeker of truth lull into spiritual inactivity.

Ultimate reality is not religious propagated belief of God but it is  the formless soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.  Consciousness  the formless substance and witness of the mind. mind is present in the form of universe . Universe   appears as  waking or dream(duality) and disappears as deep sleep(non-duality).

The religion is built on the imaginary divine entity called God for creating faith to inspire and promote the belief.  It introduced its code of conduct and rituals to help people who are not fit enough to think beyond. Thus religion creates its own pedigree to help people to live in harmony and build a cultured society. But religion, scriptures and its beliefs are nothing to do with spirituality or truth seeking.

The consciousness exists as the substance and witness of the mind or  universe. The three states are mere mirage created out of consciousness.  Therefore, the person, universe, god, and religion are part and parcel of that mirage. The mirage is dependent on consciousness whereas the consciousness independent.  Thus consciousness is ultimate truth or Brahman. The individual god is mere imagination based on the false self within the false experience.

Thus starts the quest for Ultimate Truth.

Finding freedom in this life, The seeker takes nothing to heart, Neither duty nor desire. He has nothing to do But to live out his life. The master lives beyond the boundaries of desire. uncompromising uncompromising uncompromising  Delusion or the world, Meditation on the truth, Liberation itself-- What are they to him? - Ashtavakra Gita 18: 13-14

Everyone is basically dreamers. The individual comes to realize, through the experiences of biological birth, physical pain and agony, dying and death, that no matter what he does in life, he cannot escape the inevitable: he will have to leave this world bereft of everything he has accumulated and achieved and to which he has been emotionally attached.

The similarity between birth, life and death- the startling realization that the beginning of life is the same as its end prompt the opening up of areas of spiritual and religious experiences. These appear to be intrinsic part of the human personality and are independent of the individual’s cultural and religious background and programming.

One gradually develops convincing insights in to utmost relevance of the spiritual and religious dimensions in the universal scheme of things. Even hard-core materialists, scientists, skeptics, cynics, atheists and anti-religionists suddenly become interested in a quest of truth after they confront these queries in themselves. Having thus discovered the truth in the depths of his own core of existence, the awakened then embarks on a journey to find truth in all life. Thus starts the quest for Ultimate Truth.

Yoga belongs to illusion, not truth.

Yogi takes for granted that there is an Iswara--God, gives it to people for concentration purposes, and then they naturally find God in their meditations. But it is only his imagined God.

Mystics see what they are looking for or that whose existence they presuppose. Therefore Yoga belongs to illusion, not truth.

God is mere belief; no one has proved that there is a God. No one has proved that the individual is God or Brahman.  Personal experience which is not universally valid is no proof, neither is ecstatic feeling.

What one knows must be tested, to see if it be true or not. Experience must be taken, checked, analyzed and corrected. It is the characteristic of all human beings to believe they understand, even when they do not. Otherwise he may be merely imagining as he like.

The reasoning base has to be rectified from form to formless to get faultless judgement.  The defective interpretation is to apply it only to waking state. The correct interpretation is to apply it to the three states. The latter leads to final settlement of the problems because it takes all data into consideration.  Opinions belong to scholasticism. And opinions are of no use in pursuit of truth.

If one has a belief, it is because somebody else believes it; or the majority believes it--or it is his own experience. Is it religious authority or religious sanction or is it based upon a feeling of certainty.

People believe it merely because it is for them to believe and very difficult for them to reason.  The belief makes one more and more ignorance of the true self. Without realizing the true self is not the physical but the formless soul, the true will not be revealed.  The belief system rests on the belief because it is based on the belief. The truth is based on the reason not on the belief.  Nearly all people want their own imagination, not truth.

All is self, which is in the form of consciousness.

Man is primarily interested in himself. Hence, to get him started on a higher quest he has to go to the root of his own self, i.e. to inquire "WHO AM  “I”?" This is a spiritualistic formula. When as a later consequence of this inquiry he gets more impersonal he has to go to the root of the physical existence (Mind or universe), to realize the whole physical existence(Mind or universe)  is mirage created out of consciousness."

Truth reveal only when one indulges in deeper self-search to realize  “What is this universe” “What is I” “What is the meaning of physical existence as a whole?"

The soul or consciousness is the innermost self. the mind ,which is in the form of universe is   created out of consciousness. One cannot get away from body or thoughts. They are part of the mind [waking or dream] so is the universe. Hence need to understand universe, if he wants ultimate truth or Brahman.

Until a person is receptive and ripe enough it is difficult to understand, assimilate the ultimate  truth or Brahman.

It should be understood by novices that both religion and yoga and intellectuality are all right in their places and that they are steps which should lead to the path of ultimate truth, but when religion, yoga and intellectuality are made ends in themselves and not means to be used later in conjunction with inquiry, they may become and do become detrimental. Yoga is not useless, but it is not the means to acquire Self-Knowledge or Brahma Gnana. Yoga cannot remove ignorance. It is only a step. It removes obstructions.

Only through non-dual wisdom the individual soul realizes through knowledge its identity with the universal soul. The one who knows truth knows what the universe is. One has to make use of treason based on the soul , the innermost self  to know “What is reality” and “What is unreality” .

Even Sri, Sankara says: - that Yoga is not the means of liberation [page 132-133 of his commentary on Brihad upanishad.

The one who loses touch with the external world and gives himself over to his thoughts alone takes his illusions to be reality.

One has to know mind and its substance if one is to find truth. Yogi avoids inquiring, hence cannot find truth. If he thinks he does not see the world by shutting his eyes and omitting it from his thought, he is an ignorant and not a Gnani. The mere absence of the external world from cognition gave ultimate truth, and then everyone would attain knowledge of truth because they lose the universe in deep sleep.

It is not possible by mental control alone, by yoga, to achieve Brahman, but at best one falls into a sleep. It is like trying to eat food from the ears or nose, to try the yogic way.

The dualist only shuts his eyes and does not see the universe. He does not examine the phenomenal universe and hence is not aware of the truth that the universe also is consciousness. He takes his body and universe as real and talks of humanity and world peace, which are unreal on the standpoint of the true self.

Inquiry must begin with duality, i.e. with a universe or mind  to inquire into. It will end with unity. The dualist tries to avoid this duality by ignoring the universe. Hence he gets a false unity only.

The only certain things about the three states are that they are forever changing.

The Dualist who believes in their physical existence(universe) as reality    has nothing to do with the Knower or witness, with what they are aware of all the three states.

The only certain things about the three states are that they are forever changing. In contrast to the knower is the only thing of whose unchanging character one can be certain. For knower tells one about all the changes, within the waking or dream or dream experience. The one which is   remaining itself relatively constant, as a standard of reference for them is the formless knower.

One can know the mind only as the universe, which appears as waking or dream and disappears as deep sleep, because when the mind (I) is there the universe is there. When the mind is absent the universe is absent.

Thus man and world are present only when the mind is present. Therefore it is erroneous to limit the mind to the physical entity. Thus searching the mind within the body is foolish venture.

Thus there is need to realize the fact that, the self is neither the waking entity nor the dream entity because the self is formless and apart and eternal.   Thus the knower or witness is not the waking entity but it is the one which witnesses the three states as an object. Thus the knower is the formless subject and three states are an object. Without the subject there is no object.

Thus man and his universe exist within the object. Therefore it is necessary to become aware of the formless subject mentally because the subject also is the formless substance of the object.  When one knows the subject he becomes aware of the fact that, the subject and object are one in essence.

Consciously becoming aware and learn to view the three states on the base of formless knower (witness) releases, one from experiencing the three states as reality. By  becoming aware of the formless knower mentally free one from carrying the illusory baggage of burden and bondage of duality in the midst of waking. By knowing the knower (soul or consciousness) and known [three states or mind], one in essence in the midst of illusion (waking or mind) is non-dual wisdom.

Nothing disappears from illusion but one becomes fully conscious of the fact that, everything seen known, believed, experienced as person of the world is mere mirage created out of consciousness. Therefore there is no second thing exist other than consciousness.  Hence it is non-dual.

Consciousness is thus beyond the known and the unknown.

From the standpoint of the mind's working, one says that its thoughts are transient and illusory; from the standpoint of ultimate result when he seeks the essence of the objective world he has to resolve it into the One mind.

Is this mind also illusory, although longer lasting than individual thoughts? To ask such a question is to think about the mind i.e. to set it up as an object, to remain in the world of duality. Hence one cannot get a correct answer about it--only a thought. The mind as knower cannot be known by thought; only by non-thinking, by silence, question- less.

The meaning of consciousness has not been found. So how can one know that divine Consciousness is infinite? When one is conscious he sees a thing, a second thing. The latter is a finite idea; where is the infinity of it?

Consciousness is thus beyond the known and the unknown. Nothing can come near this consciousness.  The Gnani knows that the universe is only consciousness, after all, but this is the final position.

Bondage is something which you have imagined. Hence if one wishes to force himself from it, he needs only free his-self from his imagination.

Even the highest thought of consciousness must disappear in deep sleep. Thought is changing and unreal. It passes away like dreams. It is impossible to eliminate thought entirely in the waking experience. No one has ever succeeded in doing so. If he does he will at once fall asleep.  It is impossible to see any differences or distinctions in the witness.

The nature of consciousness is always wisdom, knowing, whether in death or life, sleep or waking. But to understand this knowledge is hard because the world-objects worry one. So one has to get rid of this worry which prevents his insight, he must analyze the mind, to realize the ultimate truth.

From the standpoint of worldly communication through words one strives to know ultimate truth. But from the highest standpoint words can only be applied to an object. When one say 'I do not know the ultimate truth, there must be something in him which knows him do not know, a Witness, and which thus contradicts him.

The consciousness in me, the consciousness in him, the consciousness in someone else, are all one and the same; not separate from each other. Nobody has ever seen more than one consciousness.

The consciousness can be realized wherever one is, whereas if he goes to mountains in search of ultimate truth he finds only universe. It is within the mind (universe) rather than without.

He who knows the witness is consciousness, he remains satisfied. Not he who is concerned with universe. Birth, life and death are part of the illusory universe.

Birth, life and death are happening within the illusory universe, the universe disappears as deep sleep. Birth, life, death and universe are an idea exists in waking and dream states only. Without the consciousness they cease to exist as real.  The consciousness can exist with our without the waking or dream. The witness which sees the three states is consciousness is immortal.

One cannot know the truth until one knows the stuff from which the mind is created

Until one has the conviction that, he is an individual separate from the world and world existed prior to him, and he is born in this world afterwards, he will not be able to cross the threshold of duality [illusion], which he experiences as reality.  If  one accepts the duality [illusion or mind or waking] as reality he will never be able to grasp the ultimate truth.

The duality is reality only on the standpoint of false self[ego].  There is a need to reduce mentally, the whole experience of diversity [man+ universe] into mind and mind into spirit [consciousness], in order to realize the nondual truth.  Consciousness itself is ultimate truth.

Seeker must first know what is before him. If he cannot know that, what else can he know or understand? If he gives up the external world in his inquiry, he cannot get the whole truth.

One cannot know the truth until one knows the stuff from which the mind[universe] is created. The goal of pursuit of truth is to realize the fact that, the true self is not physical but it is the formless soul/ spirit/consciousness.

Many people are struck with awe or reverence at the outer indications of renunciation, and thus blindly accept a man to be a Gnani. The two have no connection. Because he has no wife, no family, and no possessions" they think man who has merely repressed these desires as though these things had anything to do with wisdom he is mere religious man. People are quite incompetent to judge who is a Gnani between god men, intellectuals, and yogis. A Gnani is neither a god men, nor yogi, nor intellectual.

The man who speaks about god, scriptures and religion is not a Gnani. A yogi who speaks about yoga is not a Gnani. A God man who indulges in miracle is not a Gnani. An intellectual who argues on his own speculated theories is not a Gnani. A Gnani is the one who guides people towards the source of the mind [universe or physical existence] is real Gnani. A Gnani never claims himself a teacher nor does he accept any one as disciple.

The first step is of knowing “Self" is not physical but it is formless spirit.  The second is to know the spirit is ultimate truth, the "whole." Then alone he knows truth and wisdom, i.e. the whole truth.

“Soul” [consciousness] as “Self “is the key that opens the door of ultimate truth. This understanding is certainly necessary at the first stage, when the mind is wandering. At the end the mind gets stilled and knows its formless essence and becomes one with it. Then there is no witness nor witnessed everything is one and the whole.

The formula "What is ‘I’?" presupposes the existence of an ‘I’. But this is only an assumption. Before proceeding to act on such a formula one ought first to inquire whether there is such a thing as an ‘I’.

Those who have been baffled by unsuccessful enquiry, reading, intellection, have to find out what are the obstacles on the way, what is blocking them from grasping, understanding and assimilating the non-dual truth.

Yoga is intended to remove the hindrance in pursuit of truth such as sexual desire, worries, anxieties, desire for wealth etc. and also to enable one to keep out from irrelevant thoughts whilst making inquiry, analysis and reasoning.

All this has to be done before indulging in pursuit of truth. Therefore yoga has only a negative value and is a preparatory stage. Pursuit of truth starts from what is seen, i.e. the three states.  Wisdom comes from both knowing the three states and the formless witness of the three states.

To leave out one of these parts is to prevent attainment of wisdom. "Who am I” is useful no doubt, it has certainly a value in its place, and gives some knowledge of self as, the Witness. But what about the witnessed? The three states are mere object to the witness. It must also be looked at. If the witnessed [three states] is ignored, then "Who am I” cannot give the full truth.
“Who am ‘I’” is   yogic inquiry; not the spiritualistic; the latter deals with the whole of life whereas the former deals with a part only.

"Who am I” inquiry limits only to the physical entity, because there, is no person in truth but only in the illusion of mystics.  ‘It should be "What is I?".

The question "Who am I” is a religious, not a spiritualistic question. It is a most selfish one. It is on a par with "What shall I be after death?" and "What shall I get in return for my good karma in next life?" It is purely egocentric and it is based on the false self.

Only the people who are serious in knowing the truth can lift their thoughts above ego and ask "What is the mind?"  All  the three states  put together make the soul/self, not merely the ego questioning itself ''What is  I.”

People are most interested in themselves before they gets interested in the world therefore, the "Who am I?" inquiry leads only to reveal half-truth.    The “Who am I? – Inquiry is useful as a first stage to show the illusoriness of ego and thus help seeker to get rid of it. It helps the seeker to prepare him to consider the higher question: What is the world, what is mind, what is “Self” the truth about which cannot be learnt by those attached to their ego, with its prejudices against idealism, etc.
