Pursuit of truth is about the discrimination of Truth (soul/spirit) from untruth (mind)

The purpose of self-knowledge is to destroy the ignorance of the true self, which pervades everywhere and in everything   in all the three states as their formless substance and witness.    Pursuit of truth is about the discrimination of Truth (soul/spirit) from untruth (mind) is for the easy understanding of those who have intense urge to know the reality of the true existence.

Whatever perceived as a person through senses within the world are within the   waking experience. One feels every object is different from each other because everything is based on individuality. But the consciousness of these, which is different from them, does not differ because of its homogeneity.

Similar is the case in the dream experience. Here the perceived objects are transient and in the waking experience they seem permanent. So there is difference between them. But the perceiving consciousness in both the states does not differ. It is homogeneous.

One who is waking up from deep sleep consciously remembers his lack of perception during that state. Remembrance consists of objects experienced earlier. It is therefore clear that even in deep sleep ‘want of knowledge’ is perceived.

This consciousness in the deep sleep experience is indeed distinct from the object (here, ignorance), but not from itself, as is the consciousness in dream experience. Thus in all the three states the consciousness being homogeneous is the same.

Past, present and future are within the mind, and mind cycles between the dual and non-dual experiences observed on certain standpoint. But on ultimate standpoint the consciousness is the same; it neither rises nor sets; it is self-revealing.

This consciousness, which is the true Self, is formless and nondual in its nature.  The love for the true Self is the highest love. Hence the true Self is of the nature of unity, whereas the physical self is of the nature of diversity.

The ultimate truth is established by reasoning on the true base. On the base of   the physical self the diversity is reality. But on the base of soul, which is the true self, the diversity is mere mirage.  The soul is the ultimate truth.

The physical existence ceases to exist without the soul. The soul exists with or without the physical existence.

To overcome the illusion the Self –knowledge is essential. If one has self –knowledge there cannot be attraction for the physical existence because one becomes aware of the fact that the physical existence which consists of birth, life and death and pain and pleasure are mere mirage thus one gets freedom from experiencing the duality as reality.

Non-dual nature of the Self revealed through deeper inquiry, analysis and reasoning and the ignorance vanishes in the midst of the experience of diversity, the wisdom dawns and one becomes aware of the fact that, even though the experience of diversity is there everything is Brahman because the self pervades in everything and everywhere in experience of diversity therefore there is no second thing other then the self, which is the soul or spirit.

Rather than attending a lecture on finding the truth, it is better to indulge in pursuit of truth.

According to Indian mystic traditions the physical life is regarded as a journey. A pilgrimage is mere an outward journey based on the imaginary divinity. A pilgrim is one who blindly accepted his physical existence as reality by accepting the inherited dogmas without verifying the validity of his belief.

People who think the place of pilgrimage is one where a manifestation of divinity appeared for a particular purpose, where a sage performed austerities or meditated for a long period, or where someone  claim they got direct experience of God.
A pilgrimage is undertaken with many religious propagated goals. It may be an act of acknowledging to oneself one’s failures and misdeeds. One may aspire for freedom from this burden of misdeeds through confession, an act of atonement and purification. It could be in the form of renouncing a habit, addiction or worldly pleasure after the pilgrimage is complete.

Many think that  if a pilgrim is one who fulfils all the requirements, he may be granted the rare appearance  of a sage or saint  who left the physical  body hundreds  of years ago, but still dwells there as a light being.  Such ideas are based on imagination based on the physical self within the false experience.  Thus it has no value on the base of the true self, which is the spirit.

Pilgrimage is a religious endeavour; it is holiday based on imagination. Rather than attending a lecture on finding the truth, it is better to indulge in pursuit of truth.  Seeker has to go on a mental journey rather than a physical one.
If inquiry, analysis and reasoning done earnestly the true base, one becomes receptive and confident in his capacity to explore the nondual truth. One then renounce the ignorance he is addicted to and come to realise that he has the spiritual strength to live within the duality, fully aware of the fact that duality mere illusion.

Seeker of truth Begin a inner pilgrimage with an inner resolve, by rejecting mentally the unreality or illusion as a whole.
If taking a dip in a river would grant me liberation then the fish would have been liberated long ago.” Hence the mental journey is far more important than the physical one.

Let a pilgrimage be a point of crossing over, a transition to a ultimate truth.  Seeker of truth has to go with the resolve: “After the mental pilgrimage, he shall be the true self/soul, which his true eternal identity.

After the mental pilgrimage, one is fully aware of the fact that the true self is not physical but it is the spirit. Thus he identifies his-self with the spirit and overcomes the burden and bondage of the physicality or duality.
Until that final realisation happens, one will continue to remain a pilgrim. Thereafter, he becomes a guide to other pilgrims who might follow him, seeking to grasp the essence of non-duality.

Only in waking experience one experiences the birth, life and death and the world as reality.

Only in waking experience one experiences the birth, life and death and the world as reality. But one has to know the waking experience itself is mere mirage on the standpoint of the soul, which is the true self.  Therefore, the Self-Knowledge is essential to understand and assimilate the nondual truth.

The physical self is obstruction in realizing the ultimate truth. Thinking on the base of physical self as the true self and produces the sense of reality in unreality creating a physical prison, which prevents thinking beyond physicality.

The cause of the obstruction in realizing the truth is the ignorance of the true self, which is the formless substance and witness of the three states. When the truth is fully recognised in the midst of the illusion then the illusion will no longer remains as reality.

The formless substance is the soul, which is in the form of spirit or pure consciousness.
When the substance is in ignorance it is known as illusion; when it is in its formless nondual true nature it is the soul, the ultimate reality.

On the base of physical self one sees only external things and he is devoid of the knowledge of the inner   nature of the true self.

On the base of physical self, man performs actions for enjoyment, and again he enjoys for performing action. Similarly, the man finding himself in the whirlpool of worldly life, receive the appropriate realization from deeper inquiry analysis and reasoning on the true base, and differentiating mentally the true  Self, from  the three states attains the nondual wisdom,  and gets of release from experiencing duality as reality.
