The witness of the three states is neither the body nor the ‘I’/ego

For a  Gnani, birth, life and death, is a mere mirage, because he is fully aware of the fact that all the three states are mere illusion. All the three states they appear and disappear in succession. The witness of the three states is neither the waking entity  nor the dream entity. Thus the witness is apart from the waking entity  or dream entity.

When one is “awake,” he incessantly thinks, and when he goes to sleep and dream, he does not think any the lesser. But when he  pass from dreamful to dreamless sleep, his  thoughts cease and he enjoy undisturbed peace, till he  wakes again and resume his  thinking and with it his  restless, peace-less state. But all these are happening within the three states and he is aware of the experiences only in the waking experience.

Birth, life, death and  world  are part of the waking experience. The waking experience is mind, because  mind is present only when waking or dream is present. Mind is absent when the waking or dream is absent. The duality is present only  when the mind is present . The duality is absent when the mind is absent. Therefore waking/dream/mind/duality is one and the same thing.

People think life is miserable because they are not aware of the fact that ‘ego or waking entity ’ is not the  self but the self is formless soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.  On the standpoint of the formless  soul, the innermost  self the three states are unreal.

Waking  or dream is nothing but illusory  experience. In deep sleep the waking and dream disappears and the experience -Free State prevails.  But soon experience appears again in the dream /astral/vision and continues till a full “waking” takes place in a new body, after another dreamless lull. This daily cycle of waking and sleeping is a miniature of the cycle of birth, life and death.

Man and the universe are part of the illusion, which exists as waking/dream. The substance of the waking and dream /deep sleep is formless  soul (consciousness  or spirit)  from which these three states arise. To transcend birth, life and death one has to transcend the three states and abide in the eternal substance which is the true self.

The terrible fear of death is absent only in deep sleep.  The fear seize only in deep sleep. Fear is present only when sees his body and the world in waking or dream. But in dreamless sleep, or when one is under Anastasia.  Fear haunts one only when one is fully “awake” and perceive the world, including his body. If one becomes aware of the true self and learns to view and judge the worldview on the standpoint of the true self, the fear becomes part of the mirage. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the three states and become aware of the fact that, the true self, which witnesses the three states, is apart from the three states.

If one traces this fear to the object, the loss of which gives rise to it, he will find that that object exists within the waking/dream which exists in the form of the mind.

The attractive world and the senses that are touch, taste sights, sounds, smells, etc are within the waking/dream/duality.

People would be too glad to be rid of worldly life and all the problems and inconvenience it creates for them if continued awareness were vouchsafed to them. It is the awareness, the consciousness, and not the body, he fears to lose. Everyone loves existence because it is eternal awareness, which is their innermost  Self.

The seeker of truth has to hold on to the pure awareness right now, while in this very life and be free from all fear which is created out illusion.

People want to know about rebirths. Theosophy speaks of 50 to thousands-year intervals between death and rebirth. But all these are imaginations based on the false self. There is no relation between the standard of measurements of one state of consciousness and another. All such measurements are hypothetical. It must be distinctly understood that it is not the soul that comes and goes, but the three states which appear and disappear. The three states are mere illusion on the standpoint of the formless witness which is the soul, the innermost  self.

On plane of duality that is in the waking,  the waking world a waking body exists.  In the dream, dream world a dream body exists. In dreamless sleep or in death, it remains wordless and bodiless therefore illusion less.

The Gnani, the Self- Realized man, whose mind has already ceased to act, remains unaffected by birth, life death [duality]: it has dropped never to rise again as reality. The chain of illusions has snapped forever for him.

It is now clear that there is neither real birth, nor real death. It is the illusion that creates the sense of reality in duality. The sense of reality of the duality will prevail till it is destroyed by Self-Realization.

To explain to beginners   to study the path of truth in layman’s language and as brief as possible is a hurricane task. One has to indulge in pursuit of truth without using religion, scriptures, yoga and god glorification, how would they do, when they   firmly think a guru , god men , pundit as source of Self Knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.

Part of the readiness of any person to listen to any kind of knowledge, including worldly knowledge, is the willingness to hear and the necessity to ask for that specific knowledge.

Preaching is not teaching. Someone willing to know the truth must realize the fact that there is “no need to study the Scriptures, and indulge in religious rituals   and there is no need practice yoga?

The nature of the true self is non-doer ship, and the qualification `One' to elevate its non-dual nature in the experience of diversity, to bring unity in diversity.  That is to say, just as the one sun lights up the entire universe, so does the one Self infuse life and activity into the waking or dream world .

Through different mental apparatuses, the Self appears to manifest itself differently in different bodies, but it is for the seeker to realize the fact that, the man and the world appears within the waking or dream. Without the waking/dream, the man and the world cease to exist. Thus, waking or dream are mental states, and they are impermanent in nature. Thus seeker has to indulge in deeper thinking through inquiry, analysis and reasoning to get the firm conviction about thee facts.

Nevertheless, like the sun, the Self neither performs the actions pertaining to the bodies nor does it cause them to be performed, nor is it tainted by evils like duality or partiality etc because all man is the doer within the world and world exits within the waking/dream. The self is the formless witness of the three states.  That to immortal Self ever remains pure, conscious action-less, immutable, unchanged, impartial and stainless under every circumstance.

Dispelling one's ignorance is important for the realization of the non-dual truth. The means of dispelling ignorance is possible only through perfect understanding derived from inquiry, analysis and reasoning on the true base.

By means of non-dual wisdom one is able to realize that man and the world are within the experience of duality (waking or dream) and waking and dream is an object the true self which is the subject.

Waking/dream  is knowable, subject to change, perishable, mutable, material and transient; whereas the Soul, the innermost  self  is its knower, conscious, changeless, action-less, eternal, imperishable, unattached, pure, of the same stuff as Knowledge, and one; that the two being wholly diverse in character.

The formless soul or consciousness, the innermost,  is  apart  from the three states ; that the apparent identity of. The two is rooted in ignorance; that, in reality, the formless soul  has no connection whatsoever with the three states . This is what is meant by perceiving with the eye of wisdom the difference between the three states  and the  formless witness or soul.
