Adyathmic discussion-50

Consciousness us the ultimate cause of the duality. The spirit and the matter seem to be opposed to each other in duality, but in reality there is no duality because the matter is mere mirage created out of the spirit.  All the forms and names are   nothing but consciousness.

The wisdom dawns in the midst of duality. Knowing the body and universe are mere mirage created out of consciousness in the midst of duality, is wisdom. For Gnani his body and his experience of the world so consciousness. Thus in the midst of duality he is fully aware of what is what. All confusions and arguments are based on the ego as self. Knowing the ultimate truth frees one from experiencing the duality as reality. People get confused that the body and the universe disappears after knowing the truth but it is not so, only there unreal nature is exposed. Same way as the dream entity and dream world becomes unreal when waking takes place, one becomes aware of the unreal nature of the waking in the midst of waking experience, when he becomes fully aware of the formless witness of the three states, is his formless true identity. Thus the witness has to be grasped mentally in the midst of the waking experience or duality. It takes a long time to grasp, assimilate and realize it,because our habitual judgment and reason is based on the ego or birth entity, which perceives the world, within the mirage.

    • Harsh K. Luthar Yes, it is difficult. Surrender is difficult. Bhagavan Ramana used to say that one can surrender partially at first and continue to do self-inquiry. If one keeps the company of sages, or creates that mental atmosphere (through reflecting on their teachings), it becomes easy.

    • Harsh K. Luthar Some people advise reading scriptures also. That is good too. But for us Bhagavan's words are scriptures. So that is good too.

    • Santthosh Kumaar Whatever comes and whatever goes is mere illusion created out of consciousness. The soul/self ,which is in the form of the consciousness alone is rea,l and it is the witness of the coming and going of the illusion, which is in the form of the mind.

    • Santthosh Kumaar When witness and witnessed both are one in essence and that essence is consciousness than there is no second thing exists other then consciousness. Thus consciousness alone is real and all else is mere mirage, which appears as waking or dream[duality] and disappears as deep sleep[non-duality].

Clinging to the word 'I or 'I AM' is cause of ignorance. 'I' or 'I AM' exist only in waking or dream and they disappear in deep sleep. thus the 'I' or I AM' is impermanent. the permanent is the one which witnesses the coming and going of the 'I' or I AM,which is formless Ramana or inner most self. thus the words are part of the impermanence thus seeker has to mentally grasp the self without identifying with the words.
