Holding ‘I’ or ‘I AM’ as self is blocking the realization of ultimate truth or Brahman

Dualists Sages  have written big volumes about the soul. Yet they are quite ignorant of the fact that the ‘I’ about which they write itself comes and goes and has no permanent existence, is only an idea after all.

Sage Sri,Sankara said:~ Talk as much philosophy as you like, worship as many gods as you please, observe ceremonies and sing devotional hymns, but liberation will never come, even after a hundred aeons, without realizing the Oneness.

Jesus said to them,  “When you make the two one, and when you make the inside like the outside and the outside like the inside, and the above like the below, and when you make the male and the female one and the same, so that the male not be male nor the female is female; and when you fashion eyes in the place of an eye,  and a hand in place of a hand, and a foot in place of a foot, and a likeness in place of a likeness; then will you enter the kingdom.”

"The Kingdom of God is inside you and all around you, Not in a mansion of wood and stone.  Split a piece of wood and God is there, Lift a stone and you will find God." (Gospel of Thomas)

The soul or the consciousness is that which knows everything, that which sees. Consciousness alone remains after one gets rid of all thoughts and ideas by identification with self. Consciousness is only the seer; it is not Brahman that is an error. It becomes Brahman only after realization.

The ‘I ‘or mind or universe, waking or dream, duality are one and the same thing. Since, ‘I’ is identified as self all the confusion. And taking ‘I’ or ‘I AM’   as the self is the cause of confusion. Holding  ‘I’ or ‘I AM’ as the self is blocking the realization of ultimate truth or Brahman.  The ‘I’ or universe is an object to the formless subject. Thus, it is necessary to include the universe in the inquiry to realize the unreal nature of the ‘I’ or universe.

When the whole universe, movable and immovable, is known to be consciousness, which is the innermost self and thus the existence of everything else is negated, where is than any room to say that the body is the self.

Without causing the objective universe to vanish and without knowing the truth of the Self, how is one to achieve.

Dualists or realists could not distinguish between ‘I’ and ‘formless witness.’  They take ‘I’ as self or witness. Their highest is to say ‘I AM THAT’ without verification. They are so much attached to the 'I' that they do not want to think that 'I' does not exist. Again one is unable to detach the ‘I’ from the Real witness, which is ever formless.

The dualists object: - If everything else is false then   the statement I am   Brahman is itself false, but when one says non-duality is false, there must be the awareness, consciousness, behind the very statement. You will also go, die. One has to rely upon that which is permanent.  Formless witness of the ‘I’ alone is permanent. Anything that one says is a witnessed [waking], but there is the formless witness (soul or  consciousness) there before any statement could be made.

Dualists or realists approach is more practical, and they stuck with the reality of the world(I), they take it as real.

The dualists or realists are unaware on what standpoint the world is real and on what standpoint the world is unreal.

The world is real because it is a manifestation of consciousness, but is unreal, in the sense, that it is not absolute and eternal like consciousness itself. Thus from the ultimate standpoint the world is unreal. Therefore whatever seen, known, believed and experienced as a person within the practical world is bound to be unreal from the ultimate standpoint because of their impermanence. And the formless substance and witness of the mind or universe is real and eternal.

Sage Sri Ramana Maharishi Says:~ The self is fullness of consciousness. Therefore, there is nothing apart from it. Ramana would humorously say that if god were to be separate he would be self-less. As for Sadguru his individuality is dead. It is merged in the self like waves in the sea. so, he is the Self. The guru and god are not different for their essential nature as unlimited consciousness is the same.

"It is this Supreme Oneness which alone is real, since there is nothing else but the Self. Verily, there remains no other independent entity in the state of realization of the highest Truth."

People believe that teacher or mystic or priest has got so many followers and therefore there must be some truth in their teaching, is a common fallacy accepted by the mass due to their inherited samskara or conditioning

The guru is necessary for religion and yoga.  Path of truth is a personal path. Path of truth  is  path of verification. In religion and yoga the verification is not allowed. Blind faith is main ingredient in belief system and yoga.   Gurudom is playing with words because maybe the meaning is floating somewhere in between the spaces of words...

People who think themselves to be in a position to air their knowledge forget one basic fact, namely that they go by mere appearances. Someone expounds knowledge and the one who receives it begins to ape the person from whom he has received the knowledge.  They never question the validity of that knowledge.

Thus, whatever the guru wears, he will wear; whatever mannerisms the guru affects, he will imitate.  Thus, they only learn to pretend. And all so-called accumulated knowledge" is mere speculation based on the physical self(ego or waking entity). This is how tradition became established and traditional forms of worship come into being and passed it on the one generation to the next.  All these have nothing to do with the Self- Knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.

Whatever One has heard, whatever he has been told has no value as far as the ultimate stand point. Whether one accepts the fact that,  the only knowledge that he   really has is the knowledge that he exists within the universe i.e. the physical-awareness. The physical awareness  is part of the illusion.

The realization of truth is not intellectual understanding. The seeker has to realize the fact that,  the 'self' is not  limited to the waking experience because the 'self' pervades all the three states as their formless substance and witness. The 'self' is neither the waking entity nor the 'self' is dream entity but the 'self' is the formless soul. The on the standpoint of the soul, the innermost self the three states are non-existent as reality.

One has to realize the fact that, it is not the waking entity, which witnesses the three states.  The formless soul is the witness of the coming and going of the three states. The soul is immutable. The soul is unaffected by the happening within the three states because the three states are mere mirage created out of the formless soul, which is present in the form of consciousness. The soul or consciousness is the innermost self.

The truth is beyond intellectual understanding and only the serious seekers who are free from preconceived accumulated ideas can get there. The seeker of truth moves a head by verifying the facts and by removing all the obstacles and reaches his non-dual destination.

"It is this Supreme Oneness which alone is real, since there is nothing else but the Self. Verily, there remains no other independent entity in the state of realization of the highest Truth."

People believe that teacher or mystic or priest has got so many followers and therefore there must be some truth in their teaching, is a common fallacy accepted by the mass due to their inherited samskara or conditioning. It proves only an ignorant can find a number of greater ignorant to follow him.

As the conviction of  the soul,  innermost self  grows stronger and firmer, the illusion looses its luster and becomes one with the stuff it is made out of.
