Anyone who has inner urge, humility and patience is qualified for Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.

All the scriptures hold the form, time and space as reality. If they hold form, time and space as reality the universe is automatically becomes reality. If the universe is considered as a reality than birth, life death will be experienced as reality. If birth, life and death is taken as reality than it is impossible to cross the threshold of duality. If duality remains as a reality than ignorance will prevail unchecked.    If ignorance prevails than illusion will prevail as reality.

Deeper self-search reveals the fact that, religious and yogic pursuit and pursuit of truth are not the same. The religious yogic pursuit is egocentric whereas the pursuit of truth is soul-centric.

The scriptures and theories and teaching based on the ego are not the yardstick. Using them as yardstick to understand and assimilate the truth will lead one towards pursuit of arguments. Seeker of truth has to discover on his own, the truth of his true existence by inquiring “what is mind?” and “what is substance of the mind?” “What is the source of the mind?” and move forward.

The wisdom consists in knowing the truth, that everything (mind or physical existence) is consciousness. Freedom (truth) is always there yet one does not know it.  But to those whose reason is turned away from physicality and who have attained the serenity of the soul/self (consciousness) are quite near to the ultimate truth.

To think once own body and his experience of the world is an illusion is difficult matter, unless one realizes the self is not physical but it is formless soul it is difficult to have glimpse of truth.
When one realizes the fact that, the self is not physical but the formless soul, naturally the body and universe becomes illusion.

Anyone who has inner urge, humility and patience is qualified for Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana. A Gnani tries to lead the seeker of whatever level, to the goal of the true existence.

Thus the judgement based on the individuality is egocentric and whatever is based on the ego is bound to be false hood.

The seeker must have a rational approach to discover the reality of his true existence. After realizing the fact that the self is neither the body nor the ego, the Seeker must reject all the theoretical philosophy based on the waking entity or ego which is the   false self within the false experience.

In pursuit of truth any egocentric system of   thought has to be mentally rejected out rightly and to demolish any theoretical, philosophical or religious doctrines, which are based on the individuality as reality and practical life within the practical world within the waking experience as reality.

Deeper self-search revels fact that the self is neither the waking entity nor self is dream entity but self is the formless witness of the three states.  Thus whatever one had seen, known, believed and experienced as a person of the world within the waking experience is bound to be falsehood, because the self is not the waking entity. Thus it is erroneous to view and judge and conclude the truth on the base of waking entity which is the false self within the false experience.

One has to mentally trace the existence of formless witness of the three states, which is soul. And soul is in the form of consciousness. The consciousness is the innermost self.  Thus one has to have the bird-view of the worldview on the base of the soul as true self in order to unfold the mystery of the mind or universe. The mind is in the form of universe. Universe appears as waking or dream. Without unfolding the mystery of the universe in which the individual experience of the birth, life and death takes place, it is very difficult to understand, assimilate and realize the ultimate truth, which is beyond form, time and space.

Intellectuality is based on individuality. Thus the judgement based on the individuality is egocentric and whatever is based on the ego is bound to be false hood. The ego is the product of ignorance.  Thus the egocentric discussion leads to argument and perversity. Perversity is the nature of intellectuality.   Only few people who are sharp enough will instantly grasp what is said in FP posing and blogs. For others it takes time to get rid of their mental blockade.

The Gnani will neither talk too volubly like shallow persons nor keep complete silence. He will talk as much as is necessary but no more.

The Gnani will neither talk too volubly like shallow persons nor keep complete silence.  He will talk as much as is necessary but no more.

Silence  really means keep quiet in controversial discussions because one  does not know what anyone has in his mind and without semantic analysis it is all useless, so silence is better.

In pursuit of truth silence means thinking constantly of the formless as against universe. Word and thought always imply duality, the object, whereas the subject, formless witness or consciousness is beyond both word and thought.

The physical silence practiced by yogis, is a sign of their ignorance, because they are thinking of the tongue and lips, i.e. body and not of the formless witness, which consciousness. However it is useful to those who are not seeking truth as a discipline. Yogic silence was intended only for the ignorant, who are unfit for path of wisdom.

Consciousness is wrapped in the meaning of words. Semantics aim at clarifying meanings but AUM ultimately shows you that all words are futile because they cannot express the ultimate nature of anything: Silence alone does this.

The Gnani sees the essential universal unity and the multiplicity of objects simultaneously.

WHO AM ‘I’ AND ‘I AM THAT’ is only for a lower stage where one gives up externally in order expose the false nature of the ego, which is not the full truth. To get ultimate truth  one has to inquire into the nature of the mind, which is in the form of the universe.  Inquiring into the nature the mind or the universe is higher.  Thus ‘WHO AM ‘I’? or ‘I AM THAT’   is not complete and the journey is incomplete.

First one has to mentally detach the three states from the formless witness, as unaffected by coming and going of the three states. And then – the formless witness and the three states are one in essence. That essence is consciousness.  Thus everything is consciousness and nothing exist other than consciousness.

People stop their pursuit of truth at the ‘WHO AM ‘I’? or ‘I AM THAT’ , which is incomplete and keeps them in the grip of individuality and individuality leads them to intellectuality.

Seeker will complete his pursuit of the truth only when realize the truth of the whole that is inquiring in to the nature of the mind or the universe.

Others Blessings are not the means for realizing the truth; blessings are religious fable nothing to with the ultimate truth. A Gnani neither blesses nor curses.

That the ancient sages had miraculous occult power and books relate stories of their feats, are fairy tales were meant for children, women and those whose minds had not developed. Mythological contains stories of people with 10 with seven heads etc., which are fables, yet are taken seriously by pundits.  All these stories are reality within the waking experience and waking experience itself falsehood from ultimate standpoint.

The yogi in Samadhi fails to see non-duality? Because he believes there is happiness to come to him from Samadhi. That shows he does not know the truth, but still seeks bliss as something apart from his-self.

The common people draw a wrong inference in thinking a Gnani must ascetically reject the world; this is only for those religious or yogic minds in the lower rungs of the ladder.

Yoga is to be practiced only until one attains equilibrium of mind; when this is established, the continuance of yoga is foolish.  The indifference practiced by a seeker is external to the self, is formless; the indifference practiced by a Gnani is purely internal, is mental.

The greatest mistake is to think that a Gnani sees nothing. This blind reverence for Samadhi is as valuable as revering a man who has taken a dose of chloroform.

The Gnani sees the essential universal unity and the multiplicity of objects simultaneously. The person in deep sleep or Samadhi leaves out the objects and sees the essence; hence he has not full Gnana.

One must be soul centric to give all knowledge based on egocentric, which is cause of the ignorance.

One knows of dream that the dream-figures are also created out of consciousness, not different from it; similarly when he knows that everything  that exists in waking experience is consciousness and consciousness  is  ultimate truth or Brahman, there is no need for yogic control of the mind; control presupposes a second thing, duality. Hence yoga is in sphere of duality and is unnecessary to one who knows non-duality.

It is erroneous to believe the general impression is that the universe disappears to a Gnani, that he sees nothing in Samadhi. Only by deluded persons will have such impression?   Nothing is destroyed. Only ignorance disappears and the unreal nature of the universe is exposed. A Gnani is fully aware of the fact with firm conviction that everything is consciousness in the midst of duality.  Being aware of the reality in the midst of duality is called wisdom.

The universe or waking experience will not disappear.  It is there always but its unreal nature is exposed in the midst of duality or waking experience through wisdom?

If one thinks its mere disappearance in yogic Samadhi is ultimate truth or Brahman then he would get it in deep sleep.  Thus yogic Samadhi is not wisdom.

WHO AM ‘I’?, inquiry is helpful in the first stage but seeker has to go much beyond ‘WHO AM ’I’ ?.

"Jesus said:-"Those who seek should not stop seeking until they find. When they find, they will be disturbed. When they are disturbed, they will marvel, and will reign over all." (Gospel of Thomas 2)

The Upanishads declare

Katha Upanishad 1:2:23:-  The Soul cannot be realized through hearing scholarly explanation of the discourses, not even by the intellect.

Katha Upanishad 1:3:6 :- “Through the knowledge of the Soul, God, one is pure and clean constantly.” Neither by reading the book, nor by taking a bath at holy place has one become pure. Inner purity is possible when one remains in constant touch with the Soul. Constant Soul-Consciousness is the real purity.

Kena Upanishad 2:4:-  When it is known through every state of cognition, it is rightly known, for (by such knowledge) one attains life eternal. Through one's own self one gains power and through wisdom one gains immortality.

Self -inquiry prescribed by Sage  Sri, Ramana Maharishi is a good tool in the beginning of the pursuit of truth. But seeker will find it inadequate to in latter stages. However, it creates lots of doubts and confusion.  The seeker has to find the answers on his own through deeper reasoning, than all his doubts and confusions will be cleared, and he will be able to move ahead in the path of inquiry, and he will be able to reach his non-dual destination. Nothing is to be renounced in order to realize the ultimate truth or Brahman because the practical life within the practical world itself is falsehood from the ultimate standpoint. The self-knowledge is the knowledge of the whole not the part. Therefore universe, which confronts one, has to be included in the inquiry to get the truth of the whole.  Thus ‘WHO AM ’I’ inquiry is helpful in unfolding the half-truth. Thus WHO AM ‘I’? inquiry is  helpful  in the first stage  but seeker has to go much beyond ‘WHO AM ’I’  ?.  The seeker has to do his own homework   to realize the truth of the whole.

’I’ is not Self and Self is not 'I '. 'I ' is bound by form, time and space. Without the form, time and space 'I' cease to exist. Holding 'I’ as Self one remains in the clutches of duality. When there is duality then there is ignorance. Ignorance is cause of experiencing the duality (illusion) as reality. The one who identifies the Self as 'I', will not be able to cross the threshold of duality. There is no point in saying 'I ' this or 'I AM THAT' because the 'self' is that which witnesses the 'I ' and the world together without the physical apparatus.

The earliest ancient sages used the word ‘I’ to the witness of the three states not to the ego as moderns use it and think the ‘I’ without the body is self. The seeker has to understand the fact that the fact that ‘I’ is not the self but the witness of the ‘I’ is the true self, which is eternal.

Jesus said: -  "Know what is in front of your face, and what is hidden from you will be disclosed to you. (THE GOSPEL OF THOMAS- Saying 5)

"The Kingdom of God is inside you and all around you, Not in a mansion of wood and stone.  Split a piece of wood and God is there, Lift a stone and you will find God." (Gospel of Thomas)

People speak of getting rid of conditioning or samskara but they themselves are unaware of the fact that, the universe in which they exist is product of the inborn samskara or conditioning.  The ignorance is the cause of the inborn samskara or conditioning which present as ‘I’ or ‘I AM’.

The real Moksha or freedom is   to realize the fact that ‘I’ consciousness is mere physical awareness. Physical awareness is not self-awareness. The self –awareness is when the formless soul or consciousness remains aware of its own non-dual   true nature. – FORMLESS PATH

The very purpose of analyzing the world confronts one is to realize the form, time and space are mere illusion created out of the soul, which is present in the form of consciousness. Thus to enable one to judge the ‘what is what’ from the highest viewpoint.  People fail to make this analysis, as with so many religious, yogic and intellectual minded seekers fail to realize the ultimate truth or Brahman because their judgement is based on the waking entity (ego) , which is the false self within the false experience.

One must be receptive and sharp enough to grasp the existence of formless witness which is ever apart from the three states.
The soul is the formless substance and the witness of the three states. If the formless witness witnesses the waking experience and its attention are fixed to the waking experience than the waking experience is experienced as reality. If the formless witness witnesses the dream and its attention are fixed to the dream than   the dream is experienced as reality. If the attention of the soul is on itself than it is called deep sleep in waking experience, which is the states of ignorance. If the soul consciously remains in its formless non-dual true nature in the midst of waking experience through wisdom it is called self-awareness.
The three states are an object to the formless soul, is the subject.  The three states are state of ignorance. In all the three states the soul, the innermost self is in ignorance of its own formless non-dual true nature.   This forgetfulness is the cause of the ignorance. Ignorance is cause of experiencing the three states as reality. The three states are the cause of experiencing the individuality as reality.  Individuality is cause of experiencing the birth, life, death and the world as reality.  The three states are one in essence. In the realm of truth the three states are non-existent.  In self-awareness, the three states are non-existent because they are one in essence.
People think that the ‘soul’ or ‘spirit’ is something different from the mind. They believe that the mind is really two. This is the confusion among religionists and intellectuals. If ‘Soul’ has any meaning, if ‘spirit’ has any meaning, so long as one thinks of them, they are merely ideas. The soul, the innermost self is ultimate truth or Brahman

If one ignores the world confronts him, then he will not get wisdom. The whole world confronts him must be known; if he gives up the world, what and how can he understand the truth of it?  Weak minds cannot take a comprehensive view and so decry what they cannot understand.

As the ascetics and yogis, there is no need for getting aversion to practical world; on the contrary one should go on living in the world, acting, working, etc. that he should accept life as it presents.

There is no need to renounce the practical life to realize ultimate truth or Brahman.  To realize the innermost self, which is consciousness is nothing to do with practical life because it is neither the waking entity nor the dream entity but is the formless substance and the witness of all the three states.  And all the three states are one in essence.  Thus limiting the self to the waking entity and waking experience is the cause of the ignorance.  Ignorance makes one feel the waking entity is the real self and waking world as reality.

Until one holds the waking entity and waking world as reality the truth realization is an impossibility.

Preliminary inquiry reveals the fact that, self is not the body then how can one get the truth on the base of the false self.  When the body is not the self than it is erroneous to view, judge and conclude the truth on the base of the body or waking entity is erroneous.   The truth has to be based on the self, which is bodiless or formless.   Thus whatever seen, known, believed and experienced as a person of the world within the waking experience is bound to be falsehood because the waking experience itself is falsehood.   Thus it is necessary for the seeker to become aware of the formless witness of the three states which comes and goes in succession.  The witness only witnesses the coming and going of the three states, it is nothing to do with individual experiences happening within the waking or dream.  When the self is formless then what is it that sees the waking, dream and the deep sleep state?

The dream is witnessed as a whole the dream entity is not the experience of the dream entity because the dream entity was within the dream world. Likewise the waking experience also witnessed as a whole and the waking entity is within the waking world thus it is necessary to realize the existence of the formless witness which is within the three states but it is apart from the three states. It is within the three states as their formless substance and it is apart from the three states as their formless witness.    The formless substance and witness are one in essence. Thus that essence is consciousness. Therefore the three states are mere mirage created out of consciousness.   Thus consciousness alone is real and all the diversities within the waking experience is as falsehood as of the dream.  Thus the three states are the product of ignorance. Till the ignorance dominates they prevail as reality.  When the ignorance vanishes through wisdom their unreal nature is exposed.
