Soul, which is in the form of pure consciousness, is all-pervading and is not limited by the body

Soul, which is in the form of pure consciousness, is all-pervading and is not limited by the body, but it pervades the whole universe, which is in the form of mind.  It is only because of our ignorance of its real nature that we consider the Self ,which is in the form of conciousness  is limited to the physical body and separate in each body. The Self is unattached and is not affected by the individual experiences goes on in waking or dream.

Soul/self is different and apart from the known. Soul/Self is not an object which can be known or experienced by any one because it is prior to all that is known. Man can experience only external objects within the waking or dream and so he cannot know the indwelling soul, which is the formless substance and witness of the three states. The only way to realize the true self is to trace the formless substance and witness of the three states.
The true self never undergoes any change; and physical existence that undergoes change is unreal. Soul alone is real. All the three states, which appear and disappear, are unreal. The experience of diversity [waking/dream] is mere name, created by words alone; the formless substance and witness of the three states alone is real and eternal.
conciousness [soul]is sentient that gives life to the waking and dream. The waking or dream is insentient and dependent on the soul for their existence, whereas the soul can remain with or without the waking/dream.
Soul/Self is free from the limitations of the form, time, space and objects. Actions do not taint the soul; the soul never hankers after the fruits of actions. One, who knows the true self is the soul thus, does not become bound by actions.

Soul /true self is not a doer and that he has no desire for the fruits of actions because it is formless. Self-Knowledge knowledge alone makes one free from bondage of experiencing the duality as reality.

The one who knows Soul as self and realizes that he is not a doer and has no craving for the fruits of actions incurs no bondage. His actions cease to be the cause of further ignorance of taking the ego to be the self.
Thus, what is necessary is the realization that, the self is not physical but the spirit is the true self.
He who thus knows truly the formless substance and witness to be the true self becomes free from the experiencing the illusory birth, life and death as reality.  He becomes fully aware of the fact that the cycle of birth, life and death are mere passing show.
The one who realizes that the self is the soul and self has neither birth nor any activity, because they pertain only to the waking entity, will become liberated from experiencing the illusion as reality
The ignorant disregard the soul as self, taking themselves to be an individual born in this world and the world is separate from them. They think the world existed prior to them and they are born in this world later on. Until this conviction is there, it is impossible to assimilate the self-knowledge.  The body, ego and the world appear together and disappear together.  The seeker has to make sure of this fact by constant reflecting on the subject.
The soul /spirit dwell in all the three states as their formless substance and witness. People worship only images, thinking that God is there. People do not recognize soul as the self to be the real God, but that they do not realize that god, as the soul, which pervades in everything and everywhere in all the three states.
The ignorant people are not capable of   discriminate and reason to unfold the mystery of the mind. Therefore they will not be able to grasp the nondual truth. It is realization the true self that will free one from bondage of duality.  But the belief system makes them to believe the duality is reality therefore, they cannot think beyond physicality.
The formless substance and witness is different from everything that appears in the waking/dream, which is always subject to change, is insentient and limited by form, time, space and the world.
Knowledge means ‘pure consciousness and not the knowledge based on physicality, which has a beginning and an end and is therefore finite. This consciousness is not distinct from soul, but it is its essential nature, like the light of the sun or the heat of fire. This consciousness is eternal and is present even during deep sleep. A specific act of knowing takes place only when there is waking. But this must be distinguished from pure consciousness, which is ever present in all the three states. It is this consciousness which is known as ultimate truth. Soul/Self becomes a ‘knower’ only when the known is superimposed on it.
The Self is looked upon as a knower only because of illusion. No word can express ultimate truth, “Words cannot cross the threshold of duality. The true Self which is the soul is without any attributes.

Witness is not physical

Witness is not physical
Witness and witnessed analysis is better tool for understanding and assimilating the Self-knowledge.
To be a witness of something implies subject and object relationship. To be witness of phenomena means that one is standing apart from the situation and not identifying with it. Whatever is witnessed as a person and the world is part of the witnessed. The witness is that which witnesses the physical body and the world together.  Thus the man is not the witness of the three states to take authorship of the three states because the man is present in waking or dream and absent in deep sleep. The one which is aware of the three states is not waking entity but the formless soul, which is the true self.  Thus the subject is formless and the object is form.
The true Self as the soul and soul is the ultimate reality. Thus, the whole physical existence is based on the soul not on the person who perceives the world. Therefore our understanding and assimilation has to be based on the soul not on the physicality.
There is need for deeper understand the Witness and Witnessed analysis to know the duality is mere a passing phase and not the true nature of the true self.
By developing this watchfulness and one’s ability to observe the three states on the base of the soul as self gradually weaken the roots physicality and transform the base of witnessing from form base to formless base. The idea behind Witness, Witnessed analysis is very deep and profound. Those with superficial understanding will not be in position to understand and assimilate Self-knowledge because they base themselves on the form not the formless self. When the self is not physical it is erroneous to base and judge the truth on the base of the physical self. Therefore, there is a need to rectify the seeking base to understand and assimilate the ultimate truth.
By reducing the power of understanding based on physicality/intellectuality and uprooting the physical base, “Witness, Witnessed Analysis” can lead one towards the perfect understanding and assimilation of the Self-Knowledge, which is based on the true self or soul.
Those who are able to witness on the base of the soul/true self will be able to have mental yardstick to discriminate the truth and untruth or reality or unreality and dual and nondual. The one who has mastered the art of witnessing on the standpoint of the soul will develop a wonderful richness of the spirit and are helpful to their fellow seekers in their pursuit of truth.
The real approach to Self-Realization, the mind has to rests in spirit and that leads to nondual tranquillity.
A Gnani may be engaged in worldly activities and yet he is fully aware of the fact that the his bodily actions and his experience of the world are mere mirage witnessed by the soul, which is the true self,  and he is  be maintaining and alert about the truth in the midst of the experience of duality.
Constantly reflecting on the true “Self”, and negating the three states, and bring the attention back to the formless Witness.  The perfect understanding of the Witnessing of three states by the formless witness has the effect of creating a better understanding and assimilation of the ultimate truth which is the nondual spirit.

Realizing the consciousness as self, itself is rebirth.

"Jesus said:-"Those who seek should not stop seeking until they find. When they find, they will be disturbed. When they are disturbed, they will marvel, and will reign over all." (Gospel of Thomas 2)

"The Kingdom of God is inside you and all around you, Not in a mansion of wood and stone.  Split a piece of wood and God is there, Lift a stone and you will find God." (Gospel of Thomas)

Realizing the consciousness as self, itself is rebirth. The one who is free from the ignorance he is established is sameness. Since, consciousness is the same in all and free from defects, therefore they are established in consciousness, which is ultimate truth.

Resting in consciousness, with steady intellect and unclouded, the knower of consciousness as ultimate truth neither rejoices on obtaining what is pleasant nor grieves on obtaining what is unpleasant.

Consciousness can be explained in words is mere indicating about it. One can only indicate the existence of the underlying Reality with words and it has to be realized without words.

Gnani points to the Truth easily and spontaneously. Knowledge of Reality is not just first-hand knowledge but the formless substance and witness of the three states.

Silence is the indicator of the nature of the objectless awareness or objectless consciousness. Words, and actions, are always pointers towards ultimate reality, the formless substance and witness of the mind, which is consciousness.

The scriptural scholars, priests, religious heads satsang givers, good public speakers, and charismatic orators are not Gnanis. Their knowledge is are mere accumulation for scriptures and books or passed on from their teachers.

Ultimate Reality, whatever it is, must always be Real and eternal. Therefore, the non-dual truth to be grasped by a seeker is that whatever is real, permanent, eternal, must be right here and right now in this very waking experience [mind]!

Sage Sri Sankara –VC--"All this universe which through ignorance appears as of diverse forms, is nothing else but Brahman which is absolutely free from all the limitations of human thought

"It is this Supreme Oneness which alone is real, since there is nothing else but the Self. Verily, there remains no other independent entity in the state of realization of the highest Truth."

People believe that teacher or mystic or priest has got so many followers and therefore there must be some truth in their teaching, is a common fallacy accepted by the mass due to their inherited conditioning. It proves only an ignorant can find a number of greater ignorant to follow him.

If the consciousness is not here and now and is to be gained at some future time, then it must be subject to loss also. What can be gained can also be lost!

Therefore, consciousness which is Real, Absolute, Eternal cannot be gained. It is so because the true Self is already consciousness! What the true self already is cannot be attained because it is its very nature.

Only by accepting this truth, which undermines our true existence one becomes aware of the true fact that, the three states are mere illusion, which comes and goes. And the formless substance and witness of the three states is real and eternal. The substance and witness are one in essence. The essence is consciousness. Therefore, there is no second thing exists other than consciousness.

All the things in the universe are within the mind.

All the things in the universe are within the mind.  The mind is in the form of universe.  The universe is within the soul, which is in the form of consciousness.  Thus everything is consciousness because mind and soul are one in essence.
If one is able to grasp the existence of the  formless witness of the three states then, he becomes aware of the fact that, the soul, which is present in the form of  consciousness is the true self.  Being freed from ignorance he becomes fully aware of the truth that the experience of diversity(waking or dream)  is mere mental phenomena.
The so-called enlightenment is mere idea based on the false self-(waking entity or ego). On the base of true self [consciousness] there is no such thing as enlightenment without knowing the true self and trying to denying the duality as illusion is foolish venture.
Ornamental words used in books are not the means to acquire non-dualistic or Advaitic  truth.   They are mere pointers towards truth but not truth in itself.  The seeker and his seeking is due to ignorance is due to limiting the consciousness to the physical entity. When one limits the consciousness to physical entity the ego is formed.   When ego is forms then the illusion becomes reality.  When illusion becomes reality, it prolongs the very search, and thrives on egocentric understanding and assimilation and leads one towards hallucination. Therefore perfect understanding is necessary in order to grasp, assimilate and realize the non-dualistic or Advaitic  truth.
The truth realization  is not from his own effort but it is mere happening within the illusion, which is present in the form of waking experience.

If  the self is not physical then:-

There is no need for teacher or teaching. Teaching is not the means to non-dualistic wisdom. Gnani can guide   towards non-duality which can bring a discovery of the stuff the mind is made of.
One becomes aware through direct realization there is nothing exists other than consciousness and all else is illusion.  Seekers fickleness is the greatest obstacle in pursuit of truth.  Trying one teacher to another, one teaching to another without doing much homework and remain comparing one teaching with another will make them more confused. One pointed focus of attention is necessary in pursuit of truth. The non-dualistic or Advaitic wisdom is not accumulation of knowledge from different people’s words but it is self-discovery of the truth, which leads to self-realization.

Ornamental words which pleases only the ego but it will not yield the ultimate truth or Brahman, because the ultimate  truth  or Brahman lies beyond thoughts and words. One has to find the stuff from which the thoughts ,words, thinker and the world are made of.

The  self is not physical but self is formless soul, which is present in the form of  consciousness. Thus the ego or physical self is false self within the false experience(waking).

The formless  soul  or consciousness, the innermost self, is different from the physical body and the universe because it is the formless substance of the physical body and the whole universe.

Consciousness is apart from the three states  because it is not a thing, or entity or identity within the waking or dream (mind). The physical body and the universe are within the mind, which comes and goes as waking or dream.  The consciousness has not laboured carrying the Mind, for consciousness is detached from the Mind.  The consciousness is within the mind but it is without the mind.
One who does not know the distinction between the mind and consciousness cannot be aware of “what truth is” and “what is untruth”.  The physical appearance and the universe is nothing to do with the self, which is in form of consciousness.    The experience diversity (waking)  is mere mirage created, sustained and finally dissolves itself as consciousness.

Till  one understands the fact that the self is not physical but the self is consciousness he is bound to believe in all theoretical   non-dualistic  teachings which are nearer to truth but not truth in itself.

Main object of this mental journey leads one towards non-dualistic or Advaitic  reality.  Where there is duality, there would be many fetters and obstacles, because they relate not to the consciousness but to the physicality. In non-dualistic  reality; there is no confusion, obstacles at all.
Physical  and mental distress, thirst, hunger, fear, disagreement, desires for material happiness, old age, sleep, attachment for material possessions, anger, lamentation, illusion and identification of the body with the self are all transformations of the illusory  covering of the consciousness . Only one who has identified himself with his physical body and the universe is affected by these things. Consequently consciousness is neither the person nor anything else within the universe; it is the formless substance and witness which is the cause of the mind, which is in the form of universe. Consciousness itself is uncaused.
Everything material has its beginning and end. All the positions within the waking are temporary. Today one may be a billionaire and his friend may be poor person, but tomorrow the position may be changed, and billionaire may be poor and his friend may be a billionaire. These are temporary circumstances within the illusion; they are unreal on the stand point of soul or  consciousness, the innermost  self.
Material pain  and pleasures are reality within the illusion. People interested in them are far from spiritual advancement. It is the egocentricity, which makes one reason on false base and creates many theories of nonduality. If the three states can become mentally unattached to the three states, it becomes the cause of freedom from experiencing the duality as reality.
Everyone thinks all things on earth, moving or unmoving are nothing but different combinations of substances coming from the earth. We are all but dust and dust shall we end in but they are unaware of the fact that, this universe itself has no ultimate existence because it is mirage created out of consciousness.  Thus whatever seen, known, believed and experienced as reality is mere mirage created out of consciousness. Thus, everything is consciousness all else is mere mirage.
Non-duality is the ultimate truth or Brahman. This material existence is unreal. The ego through various methods it tries to get rid of the duality but does not know how to get out of this. The only way to get out of this is through Self-Knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.
Ultimate Truth cannot be learnt. Non-dualistic or Advaitic  truth cannot be grasped and realized -- Neither by god or guru glorification nor by rituals, neither by penance, nor by yajna, nor by renouncing the household, nor by Vedas, nor by torturing the physical body through hata yoga, nor by intellectual  discussions.
Gnanis  are   absorbed in consciousness, their self being consciousness, established in consciousness, with consciousness  for their supreme goal, they go whence there is no return, their ignorance  dispelled by knowledge of consciousness, the innermost  self.
