The mind is created by Consciousness. Consciousness has its own role in the creation of the illusion. Without Consciousness, the world cannot be considered to exist. One has to understand the mind from the perspective of Consciousness and from the perspective of ego. On knowing about this mind clearly, one will clearly know what is to renounce. For one to realize the non-dual truth, he has to renounce duality.
One has to know illusion as universe, universe as mind and mind as Consciousness. Consciousness is the one which is responsible for the existence of the mind or universe or illusion.
Consciousness which has the illusion is called mind. Consciousness is the formless substance and witness of the universe or illusion. Thus the mind which is essentially nothing but consciousness limited by illusion and creates reality of this illusory universe.
Prior to appearance of the mind there was only consciousness. Mind is created by Consciousness. Before appearance of the mind, which is in the form of universe, there was only consciousness. Only in ignorance of consciousness, the mind or universe shines as reality. On the standpoint of consciousness there is neither creation nor creator. Consciousness is free from all limitations created by ignorance. One has to understand the thorough knowledge of Consciousness he can realize the mind or universe is mere myth, created out of consciousness.
The world is created by Consciousness. That mind came from that consciousness only. Thus the mind which contains all the elements like space, air, water etc. came in succession from that consciousness.
Prior to appearance of the mind the consciousness, which is the true self alone existed, and that its nature was pure Existence. Prior to mind, which is in the form of universe, there was only Existence or consciousness. From consciousness came mind or the whole universe.
Immutable consciousness the mind or universe, which contains all the sentient and insentient entities, is born.
One can see the world and various objects of the world as a person. Before universe or mind got manifested, they were there in Consciousness in unmanifested form or potential form.
The mind or universe which was in unmanifested form got manifested as name and form. From ignorance the mind came into existence as universe.
Consciousness assumes as mind, which contains universe of diverse forms as the egos, bodies and things. The universe is created by Consciousness is illusion. That means the mind is illusion, which appears as waking and dream and disappears as deep sleep.
Consciousness is the sustainer of the illusion. Without consciousness there is no mind. Without the mind here is no duality. Without the duality there is no illusion, without the illusion, there no ignorance. Without the ignorance it is nondual reality.
