Most people take their own interpretations and call it Advaith Vedanta

One part of the scriptures declares Atman is changing, another that it is immortal. How resolving such contradiction is impossible. Hence even by faith one cannot arrive at fixed notions of certitude. It is possible only by reason. Scripture can be interpreted in many different ways and hence can never finally determine truth. Every thinker or scholar, each has different interpretations.

Most people take their own interpretations and call it Advaith Vedanta.  As Upanishads declares the Vedas are not the means to Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana. Those who have stuck with the scriptures, have the belief in religion are like stagnant water in dirty pond.  Religion is not truth merely because it always shows contradiction. “I am Brahman” is merely a dogmatic statement.  There is no need to stick to any dogmatic statement, without knowing the fact that, the self is not physical but self is consciousness. If one asserts that the sentence must be interpreted in a special way, the immediate contradiction arises because one’s interpretation may disagree with others.

The credulous and unintelligent masses must have a religion but those who bestow serious seekers of truth need none.

When sruti itself declares :-  Sruti is made the final or exclusive authority in apara Vidya and that for supporting the tenet of the CAUSAL relation or creatorship of Brahman, Nirguna Brahman = the "Absolute beyond qualities," which can be defined only in a negative way. For the Shankarian school = the Ultimate Reality, higher than the Lord. i.e. of Saguna or apara Brahman ... The support of Scriptural Revelation is, therefore, absolutely necessary for this hypothesis of cosmology, this Saguna or apara (= inferior) Brahman, but not for the absolute truth of Nirguna Brahman.  The Sruti itself says: "This Atma is NOT to be attained by a study of the Vedas.  [Katha Upanishad I, 2, 23.]

The inferior knowledge based on the religion is not the means to Self-Knowledgeor Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.  Scriptural Revelation is, therefore, absolutely necessary for this hypothesis of cosmology, this Saguna or apara (= inferior) Brahman, but not for the absolute truth of Nirguna Brahman.

The Sruti itself says: "This Atma is NOT to be attained by a study of the Vedas.   It means the Self-knowledge is beyond Vedas.  Therefore ,there is a need to drop all the scriptural baggage and reach the non-dual destination mentally using the reason based on true self [consciousness].

One has to go beyond Vedas means, go beyond religion. Go beyond religion means, go beyond concept of god.  Thus, going beyond Veda, religion and conceptual god means going beyond illusion.

Most people get carried away they think the soft spoken guru who makes them sentimentally involves with him and he  tries to preach love, peace and freedom will keep them in threshold of duality. It people think the guru is a good man, such lofty character, that what he says must be true." A man may be sincere, enthusiastic, high character, but he is not a Gnani.  Following any kind of religious code of conduct is being permanently in physical prison.  Seeker has to understand the physicality is not truth. Therefore, all physical based theories are no means to reach non-dual destination.

Obedience to authority leads to loss of one’s thinking power. And accepting what guru’s authority without verification is   harmful. Accepting guru as god is harmful in pursuit of truth.
One has to know his body and the world confronting as consciousness. Then only it is possible to acquire non-dual wisdom. That maturity will arise when he drops all accumulated dross.

All the three states have to be resolutely weighed, and accurately, observed in pursuit of truth. One has to inquire: “What is this universe?”, “What is this body? “What is this ego?” Hence scientific inquiry, analysis and reasoning are a necessary foundation. The Yogi and pundits who looks only inside and ignores the world throws away part of the materials needed to find truth.

Without knowing the nature of the universe, it is impossible to know truth. What is the use of trying to find your inner self before one understands the universe.  One has to realize the fact that, his body and the universe, which confronts him as being consciousness.

Many teachers are limited by their own life’s experiences and what they have and what they have not worked out within their own given egos.

Many People just expect mental soon feeding to know the truth of their true existence. And they never bothered to take trouble and verify on their own. They get really knew firsthand knowledge of the true self if they do not inquire and analyze and reason on their own.  It is impossible to acquire non dual truth without indulging in deeper inquiry and reasoning.

The true self has existing unobserved, unrecognized except by those who are able to discover the fact that, the formless substance and witness of the three states which is the soul or consciousness is the true self.

Consciousness is not limited to the form, but it pervades all the three states as its formless substance and witness.  As a person perceiving the world within the waking or dream he is not aware of the fact that ‘I’ is not the self, but the formless substance and witness of the ‘I’ is the true self. Thus it is necessary to realize the fact that ‘I’ is not the self in order to overcome the illusory duality.

People discuss in Advaita in forums with pundits or so-called scholars who are mastered the scriptures. But mastery of scriptures is not wisdom. They quote citation from scriptures. They will not allow anyone to discuss other then what they learnt and accepted as truth.  If anyone asks any clarification they snub and force them to accept their own idea of truth and ban them from the forum. They expect the seekers to behave like slaves. Such forums are good for religious minded seekers not for those who are seriously seeking truth.

People are not aware of the fact that there is no God can exist, apart from soul or consciousness. If there is no consciousness, then there is no body, world and their belief of god. They think that there must be a creator of this universe. If one thinks body  or ’I’ as self, then there is a creator, but if one thinks the soul as the true Self, then there is nothing exists other then the soul.

If one objectifies and sees a universe, then he is bound to see many things beside himself and postulate a God, the creator. Body, God and world rise and set together from, and into, the soul, which is in the form of consciousness. If God is apart from the soul or consciousness, the innermost self , then He would be Self-less, that is, outside existence, that is, non-existent.
