Consciousness is the true Self. Consciousness is hidden in everyone and in everything and everywhere in all the three states. Soul-centric reasoning lead one deeper into consciousness, passing from the world to thoughts, and beyond thoughts to the wisdom of the Self.
A Gnani is fully aware of the fact that, his body and his experience of the universe are made out consciousness and he is free from the ignorance and also free from experiencing the duality as reality.
When ignorance has been eliminated, consciousness (self) is free from bondage and burden of the waking experience. There is no more seeking of wealth, friends, sensual pleasure, scriptural studies or any sort of knowledge.
Realising the consciousness is the true self and consciousness is the formless substance and Witness of the three states, the self or consciousness is free from the illusory burden and bondage.
The one who is free of uncertainty within, and who outwardly wanders as a house holder, can only be known by someone of his the same level of understanding.
As one goes deeper in
self-search one becomes aware of the fact that, the self is neither the waking
entity not self is the dream entity but the self is formless substance and
witness of the three states. And the formless substance and witness of the
three states are one in essence. And that essence is consciousness. If the formless substance and witness are one
in essence, than there is second thing can exist, other than
consciousness? Thus consciousness alone
is real and all else is mere illusion created out of consciousness, which is
the innermost self.
No one can escape the waking experience which
is the very basis of the physical existence. What was the waking experience
before it appeared? Was their existence before the appearance of the waking
experience? When the waking perishes,
does the soul or consciousness survive alone?
Is there a self or soul? The
seeker has to find answers for all these doubts in order to realize ‘what is
truth’ and ‘what is untruth’.
