"I searched for truth and found only the soul. I searched for the soul and found only truth."
The truth will never be seen by "I".
The "I" must be seen by truth as lies of mind fabricator.

Consciousness is not the right word to describe formless witness.
For consciousness has a duality opposite as unconsciousness and I do not see the "Formless Eye" ever being unconscious.
Tet what word is there without an opposite that can describe.?

The unconsciousness is the nature of the soul, which is present in the form of consciousness. The one which is aware of the unconsciousness is consciousness. Whatever word you use it is only communication purpose. In non-dual reality the thoughts and w...

Consciousness (soul) is the substance and the witness of the duality. The duality is present in the form of mind. The Mind is present in the form of the universe. The universe appears as waking or dream and diapers as deep sleep. The one which is awar...

The Self is indeed Brahman(soul or consciousness), but through ignorance people identify it with intellect, mind, senses, passions, and the elements of earth, water, air, space, and fire. This is why the Self is said to consist of this and that, and appears to be everything. - Brihadaranyaka Upanishad

Sage Sri Sankara disagrees with Buddhists who say, there is nothing - nonentity(unconsciousness). Sage Sri, Sankara believes there is some reality(consciousness), even though things are not what they appear to be. If one knows the truth, he will know what to do to find inspiration for action. The seeker of truth‘s subject is to know what is it that is Real.

So there is mind awareness and a deeper awareness. The "I" self can acquire lots of great spiritual experiences but that all must fall away under soul awareness observation.

All agendas are within the illusion, which appears in the form of mind (I) or universe or waking experience. The self is within the illusion as its formless substance and it is without the illusion as its formless witness. The formless witness is the one which witnesses the body and universe together. Thus the ordinary awareness is physical awareness [waking] is not self-awareness. In self-awareness the body is not the body but it is the consciousness, the ego is not ego but it is the consciousness, the world is not the world but it is the consciousness even though they exist but their unreal nature is exposed. Just as the dream becomes unreal when waking takes place, the waking also becomes unreal when non-dual wisdom dawns. The witness [knower] is that witnesses the coming and going of the three states. This truth has to be grasped mentally to realize the existence of the formless witness. Once this truth is grasped mentally, then one has to cling to the formless witness. Once one clings to this formless witness mentally than the subconscious has the yardstick to accept the truth and reject the untruth. Thus deeper self-search is necessary to understand, assimilate to have firm conviction of what is what in order to get self-awareness. .
Deeper self-search revels the fact that, The soul(consciousness) ,body and world are one in essence therefore no second thing exists other than soul , which is in the form of consciousness. Thus realizing all the three states as consciousness leads to self-awareness.

Ignorance is present in the form of 'T'. 'I' is present in the form of mind. The Mind is present in the form of the universe. The universe appears in the form of waking or dream (duality) and disappears as deep sleep (non-duality)
The ‘I’ is inborn samskara or conditioning, because of this inborn samskara or conditioning one has accepted the ‘I’ as ‘self, he is ignorant of the fact that, he has accepted illusion as reality. The ‘I’ itself is the illusion. And whatever is connected to the ‘I’ is bound to be the illusion.
The self is not an individual because it is birthless because it is formless. The self is not limited to waking experience alone because it pervades all the three states. Thus identifying the self without the form alone is erroneous. The self is without the form, without the time and without the space.

The real Moksha or freedom is to realize the fact that ‘I’ consciousness is mere physical awareness. Physical awareness is not self-awareness. The self –awareness is when the formless soul or consciousness, the innermost self remains aware of its own awareness.
Dualist sages could not distinguish between ‘I’ and ‘formless witness.’ The 'I' was the witness. Their highest was the Jiva. One is so much attached to the 'I' that he do not want to think that 'I' does not exist. Again one is unable to detach the ‘I’ from the Real witness.
Most of the modern Gurus are also stuck with ‘I’ awareness as self-awareness. The ‘I’ awareness is present only when the mind is present. Mind is present only when the universe is present. Universe is present only when the waking or dream is present. The ‘I’ awareness is absent when the mind is absent. Mind is absent than the universe or waking or dream is absent. Thus ‘I’ awareness is mere illusion. The self-awareness is ‘I- LESS AWARENESS.

The ‘I’ disappears as deep sleep, so what is the use of being attached to it? It is impermanent and illusory.
There is really no ‘I’ which in the form of mind. And mind is in the form of universe. And universe appears as waking or dream. The ‘I’ or mind or universe or waking or dream dies disappears as deep sleep. Thus one that appears as ‘I’ or mind or universe or waking or dream is consciousness and it disappears as deep sleep is also consciousness. In deep sleep it is in its formless nondual true nature. The one, which witnesses the coming and going of the three states, is also consciousness. Thus the witness and witnessed are one in essence.
Thus the universe is reality on the base of individuality and universe is unreal on the base of the consciousness, which is the innermost self. The seeker gradually will grasp and realize the unreal nature of the universe or mind. Individuality is illusory because the self is not an individual because self is formless and it pervades in everything and everywhere in all the three states. .
Dualists’ sages have written big volumes about the soul. Yet they are quite ignorant of the fact that the ‘I’ about which they write itself comes and goes and has no permanent existence, is only an idea after all.
Consciousness is that which knows everything, that which sees. Consciousness alone remains after one gets rid of ignorance. Consciousness is only the witness; it is not ultimate truth that is an error. It becomes ultimate truth or Brahman only after deeper inquiry.
Dualist sages approach was more practical, and they stuck with the reality of the world, they took it as real.
The dualist sages are unaware on what standpoint the world is real and on what standpoint the world is unreal.
The world is real because it is a manifestation of consciousness, but is unreal, in the sense, that it is not absolute and eternal like consciousness itself. Thus from the ultimate stand point the world is unreal. Therefore whatever seen, known, believed and experienced as person within the practical world is bound to be unreal from ultimate stand point.
