Realizing the truth in the midst of duality [waking/illusion] is wisdom.

Many people think  that, they will lose all their sense of identity to their functioning ,if they do not get cling to which they feel to be a distinct, separate entity-their ego. But their ego also creates the feelings of separation, pain, and alienation as well. Can the sense of identity be found in a different mode of consciousness (perception), a more inclusive one?

When one becomes aware of the fact that, self is consciousness through wisdom, then he also becomes aware of the fact that, the body, ego, senses and the universe which are present in the waking experience or dream  are also consciousness.  And he becomes fully aware of the fact that, the formless  the formless soul or consciousness, the innermost self , is the witness of the three states, is apart, real and eternal.   Thus he becomes aware of the ultimate truth or Brahman (objectless  consciousness) in the midst of the duality (waking). Realizing the ultimate  truth or Brahman  in the midst of duality (waking or illusion) is wisdom.

One does not lose the physical experience (universe or mind) but he will be fully aware of the fact that, the three states are mere mirage created out of consciousness. By realizing the fact that, the self is not physical but self is consciousness, the mind becomes still to know that consciousness alone is real, and the mind (universe) in which the whole humanity exits is mere mirage created out of consciousness.

There is a need to drop all the pre-conceived ideas and accumulated dross and try to verify a fresh to understand and assimilate the non-dual truth. One should not make any teaching as a yardstick but one should verify all the facts by sound reasoning and overcome all the obstacles by realizing what is truth and what is untruth.

If one becomes aware consciousness is the true self, then all his judgment has to be based on consciousness [formless] as self, not on the ego or physical self (form). Then only it is possible to understand and assimilate the non-dual truth.  Since, everyone is judging the truth on the physical self [form or ego] which leads to doubts and confusion and one will land up in pursuit of argument.

People think that, the birth entity (ego) as true self and the world as reality.  And their judgement is based on the birth entity (ego). Therefore, they think human and world are real. Thus they think the self is born, lives and dies, whereas the self is never born and it can never die because it is formless.

Thus arguing on the base of the ego (form) is waste of time and makes one more egocentric.      Thus, there is a need to learn to view and judge the worldview on the base of consciousness as self, to overcome all the obstacles to reach the ultimate truth or pathless land, to realize the fact that, human and world are mere mirage created out of consciousness.

Within the illusion the ignorance dominates and makes one feel the three states as reality

Consciousness dwells and pervades all the three states thus there is no second thing other than consciousness when seeker realizes the true fact that, the self is not physical but the self is consciousness.

Within the illusion the ignorance dominates and makes one feel the three states as reality.  Thus man thinks that he is born in this world and world existed prior to him and he is born in it later on. Until this conditioning is there he bound to believe in birth, life and death as reality. Only when he becomes aware of the fact that the self is not form self is formless consciousness, he has to accept the fact that the birth, life, death and universe are mere illusion created out of consciousness.

The ‘I’ is not the self. Until one thinks ‘I’ is the self , he is bound to be in the grip of illusion.  Many thinkers of the past and present hold  that, “I” or “I AM” as the self. It is erroneous to hold ‘I’ or “I AM” as the self, because the self cannot be identified with word or words.  The words are indicator to an object.  When the self is the subject and it can never be made an object.  Until we search the truth on the base of object, it is impossible to trace the subject.

As person with the name one gets caught up in the web of duality becomes unaware of the true self.  Thus one has a strong conviction that he is born in this world and he perceives the world and his experience of the world as real.  But he is unaware of the fact that the he and his experience of the world are within the mind, which appears as waking or dream. The waking is parallel dream and dream is parallel waking experience.

Only when the seeker has the serious urge to know about the truth of his true existence and when he inquires, analyzes and reasons deeply in to the nature of the mind then he will be able discover and realize the fact that ‘ the self is not form but the self is formless .

If ‘I’ is not “Self”, then what is “Self” without the “I”, when this seed of doubt is planted the inquiry will go on and on till it reaches its goal, which is the truth of its true existence which is ‘I’-less or formless.

Many who or contemplative have been haunted by certain profound questions in human life:

·         What is this life?

·         Who is the author of this life?

·         What is the purpose behind this experience of the World?

·         From where this experience of the world perceived only through the perceiver has appeared?

It should be borne in mind however these question pertaining to the realm of spirituality where the authenticity of the answers cannot be established under laboratory conditions unlike in the case of modern science. That is why all these questions have been begging for answers down the ages.

The fundamental question “Who am “I””, is the starting point of spiritual quest.  When in finding answer to who am ‘I’ the seeker will discover and realize the fact that ‘I’ is not self but ‘I’ is the mind  which is in the form of the whole  waking or dream experience . Thus ‘I’ is mere an experience, not experiencer. Thus ‘I’ as “Self” is false identity. Searching truth as ‘I’ as experiencer or ‘Self is erroneous. ‘I’ is false identity and also ‘I’ is false experience. This ‘I’ means illusion.

The religion, yoga or modern science is no way related to pursuit of truth or “Self Realization.

The journey of “Self Realization “begins with the first step. It is very much necessary to discuss the basics, whether “Self Realization” is related to religion, yoga and modern science or any other subject. The religion, yoga or modern science is no way related to pursuit of truth   or “Self Realization.

In the formative years, the religious propensities of an individual are shaped and formed initially by parents, which is substantial. These inherited religious samskaras or conditioning  handed down as a precious legacy from one generation to the next generation.

Religion conditions the mind into man. Man into personality, to be, to behave, to believe and to live as a person in the world, which is duality. Therefore religion is only a mind game. Thus with religious worship, rituals, prayers, way of living it is impossible to unfold the truth of the true existence, because religion is based on the false self within the false experience.

Leading life of religious orthodoxy in strict accordance with moral and ethical conduct is only good and helpful lead a life within the world, which is part of the illusory Waking experience. Orthodox way of life is not a qualification for realization of truth. All these religious and yogic conducts like faith, belief, devotion, service, and yogic-Samadhi will make the seeker of truth lull into spiritual inactivity.

Ultimate reality is not religious propagated belief of God but it is  the formless soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.  Consciousness  the formless substance and witness of the mind. mind is present in the form of universe . Universe   appears as  waking or dream(duality) and disappears as deep sleep(non-duality).

The religion is built on the imaginary divine entity called God for creating faith to inspire and promote the belief.  It introduced its code of conduct and rituals to help people who are not fit enough to think beyond. Thus religion creates its own pedigree to help people to live in harmony and build a cultured society. But religion, scriptures and its beliefs are nothing to do with spirituality or truth seeking.

The consciousness exists as the substance and witness of the mind or  universe. The three states are mere mirage created out of consciousness.  Therefore, the person, universe, god, and religion are part and parcel of that mirage. The mirage is dependent on consciousness whereas the consciousness independent.  Thus consciousness is ultimate truth or Brahman. The individual god is mere imagination based on the false self within the false experience.

Thus starts the quest for Ultimate Truth.

Finding freedom in this life, The seeker takes nothing to heart, Neither duty nor desire. He has nothing to do But to live out his life. The master lives beyond the boundaries of desire. uncompromising uncompromising uncompromising  Delusion or the world, Meditation on the truth, Liberation itself-- What are they to him? - Ashtavakra Gita 18: 13-14

Everyone is basically dreamers. The individual comes to realize, through the experiences of biological birth, physical pain and agony, dying and death, that no matter what he does in life, he cannot escape the inevitable: he will have to leave this world bereft of everything he has accumulated and achieved and to which he has been emotionally attached.

The similarity between birth, life and death- the startling realization that the beginning of life is the same as its end prompt the opening up of areas of spiritual and religious experiences. These appear to be intrinsic part of the human personality and are independent of the individual’s cultural and religious background and programming.

One gradually develops convincing insights in to utmost relevance of the spiritual and religious dimensions in the universal scheme of things. Even hard-core materialists, scientists, skeptics, cynics, atheists and anti-religionists suddenly become interested in a quest of truth after they confront these queries in themselves. Having thus discovered the truth in the depths of his own core of existence, the awakened then embarks on a journey to find truth in all life. Thus starts the quest for Ultimate Truth.

Yoga belongs to illusion, not truth.

Yogi takes for granted that there is an Iswara--God, gives it to people for concentration purposes, and then they naturally find God in their meditations. But it is only his imagined God.

Mystics see what they are looking for or that whose existence they presuppose. Therefore Yoga belongs to illusion, not truth.

God is mere belief; no one has proved that there is a God. No one has proved that the individual is God or Brahman.  Personal experience which is not universally valid is no proof, neither is ecstatic feeling.

What one knows must be tested, to see if it be true or not. Experience must be taken, checked, analyzed and corrected. It is the characteristic of all human beings to believe they understand, even when they do not. Otherwise he may be merely imagining as he like.

The reasoning base has to be rectified from form to formless to get faultless judgement.  The defective interpretation is to apply it only to waking state. The correct interpretation is to apply it to the three states. The latter leads to final settlement of the problems because it takes all data into consideration.  Opinions belong to scholasticism. And opinions are of no use in pursuit of truth.

If one has a belief, it is because somebody else believes it; or the majority believes it--or it is his own experience. Is it religious authority or religious sanction or is it based upon a feeling of certainty.

People believe it merely because it is for them to believe and very difficult for them to reason.  The belief makes one more and more ignorance of the true self. Without realizing the true self is not the physical but the formless soul, the true will not be revealed.  The belief system rests on the belief because it is based on the belief. The truth is based on the reason not on the belief.  Nearly all people want their own imagination, not truth.
