Adyatmic discussion- 21

I do not agree with the fact that the mere existence. Existence is temporary, always connected with time and space, while the truth is unchanging and everlasting. (Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj)

    • Shantinath Neuen really?... when, like Buddha stated: "all form is emptiness... and all that is emptiness is form" has a meaning, then the "truth", albyte its nondual lable is changing continuously...

    • Pavlos Dolatzoglou ‎????really really???? when you say: all is relative, or all is changing then this "truth" that all is relative, is this relative or is it true? So you have to use your "truth" to the "truth" itself. To say all is changin continously must be an everlasting truth, because if not, than the message, all is changing is not true, and somethin absolute and unchangable remains. And vice versa, logically

    • Pavlos Dolatzoglou Raphael (a advaita-teacher) said something like, the teachings of buddha would analyze the empirical world and would mostly just inplicate the "metaphysical" Truth. So maybe there is no bridge between the relative and the absolute. Buddha said once, that if there would not be, a uncaused, absolute truth, all his teachings would make no sense.

Existence is both dual and non-dual existence. The duality is illusory existence and non-duality is permanent and eternal existence. When one takes world is both real and unreal he is bound to have all confusion. The individual experience of the birth, life, death and the world are mere mirage created out of consciousness.
The individual experience is real because it is a manifestation of consciousness and impermanent, but it is unreal, in the sense, that it is not absolute and eternal like consciousness itself.
When our approach is more practical, and we stuck with the reality of practical life within the practical world, we take it as real, but deeper self-search revel the fact that, the self is not individual because it pervades in everything and everywhere in the universe, which appears as waking or dream. Thus the self is neither the waking entity nor the dream entity but self is the formless substance and witness of the three states. That formless substance and witness is consciousness. Thus consciousness alone is real and eternal and the universe, which is in the form of mind, appears as waking or dream [duality] and diapers as [non-duality]

From ultimate standpoint there is noting to witness because the witness and witnessed are one in essence. That essence is consciousness. Without realizing consciousness as true self and saying there is no witness nobody on the base of physical self or false self, is mere intellectuality. Without consciousness no one can say there is nothing to witness and there is nobody because the consciousness is the very basis of one who says there nothing to witness and there is nobody. no one and his experience of the universe can exist without the consciousness. The consciousness is prior to anything that exist. And it is cause of the universe that appears as waking or dream[duality] and disappears as deep sleep[non-duality] and it itself is uncaused. Thus realization of ultimate truth or Brahman is necessary to know what is what.

      July 6 at 1:59pm ·

    • Shantinath Neuen hahaha... "Thus, realization of ultimate truth..." what a delicious, utterly nonsense sentence...
      July 6 at 4:50pm ·

    • Santthosh Kumaar
I respect your views but as per my conviction derived fro deeper self-search:- All sentences, words, thoughts and also the person who thinks everything is nonsense is created out of consciousness, which he is unaware of , because he thinks his body as body, his ego as ego his experience of the ,world as world but never he is unaware of the truth they are just mirage created out consciousness due to ignorance of the truth . People fail to understand that , the emptiness is the nature of the self ,which is consciousness. When self becomes aware of its formless non-dual nature it becomes empty of ignorance or illusion or duality or experience of waking or dream. thus whatever remains empty of duality or ignorance or illusion is non-dual reality. only through wisdom one becomes aware of the truth in he midst of duality. that is why "Sri,Sankara said:- Without causing the objective universe to vanish and without knowing the truth of the Self, how is one to achieve Liberation. [63- VivekaChudamani ] "
Universe will not remain as reality when wisdom dawns. Universe is mere mirage created out of consciousness and there is unity in diversity because there is no second thing exist other than consciousness.
One thinks he is imprisoned within this body; whereas the body and his experience of the world are within the mind. The consciousness is hidden within the three states but it is without the three states. The one, which has the awareness of the three states, is not the body but the soul, which is in the form of consciousness. Thus consciousness is not limited to waking experience alone because it pervades all the three states. until one views and judges the world-view on base of ego he is in the grip of individuality or intellectuality. The self is not an individual because it is universal. And it pervades in everything and everywhere in all the three states. Thus individualized judgment will not lead one non-dual destination. that is why Sri,Sankara says in Viveka Chudamani :-65. As a treasure hidden underground requires (for its extraction) competent instruction, excavation, the removal of stones and other such things lying above it and (finally) grasping, but never comes out by being (merely) called out by name, so the transparent Truth of the self, which is hidden by Maya and its effects, is to be attained through the instructions of a knower of Brahman, followed by reflection, meditation and so forth, but not through perverted arguments.
      66. Therefore the wise should, as in the case of disease and the like, personally strive by all the means in their power to be free from the bondage of repeated births and deaths.
thus one has to know what is real by realizing our body and our experience of the world is mere illusion created out of consciousness, which the inner most self. The nature of the self is emptiness. and it is identified by different masters with different name, such as Brahman,Buddha's nature ,Christ consciousness,Self ,Ultimate Truth. Even in the Buddhism: - Buddhist teaching has itself become a kind of interactive and self-evolving process, much like its idea of pratityasamutpada. However, the end goal is still Nirvana, which is an experience ultimately beyond all concepts and language, even beyond the Buddhist teachings. In the end even the attachment to the Dharma, the Buddhist teaching, must be dropped like all other attachments. The tradition compares the teaching to a raft upon which one crosses a swift river to get to the other side; once one is on the far shore; there is no longer any need to carry the raft. The far shore is Nirvana, and it is also said that when one arrives, one can see quite clearly that there was never any river at all.
The scriptures and theories and teaching based on the ego are not the yardstick. Using them as yardstick to understand and assimilate the truth will lead one towards pursuit of arguments. Seeker of truth has to discover on his own, the truth of his true existence by inquiring “what is mind?” and “what is substance of the mind?” and move forward.
The wisdom consists in knowing the truth, that everything [mind or physical existence] is consciousness. Freedom [truth] is always there yet one does not know it. But to those whose reason is turned away from physicality and who have attained the serenity of the soul/self [consciousness] are quite near to the Ultimate Truth.

    • Santthosh Kumaar
Dear Iamyou, Deeper self-search revels the fact that 'I AM' or 'I' is an object to the formless subject. Self is not ‘I’ or I AM. Until 'I' or 'I AM' is considered as self, the separation is bound to be there. Until separation is there duality bound to be there. Until duality is there the ignorance bound to be there. Until ignorance is there the illusion bound to be there. Until illusion is there unreality prevails as reality. Until unreality prevails as reality the experience of birth, life, death and the world prevails as reality. Until the experience of birth, life, death as reality, self is in the grip of duality, separation, ignorance, illusion. If one is seriously seeking truth than it is high time to drop holding 'I' or 'I' AM' as self, because the self is beyond 'I' or 'I AM'.

That is why Buddha said: - Believe nothing just because a so-called wise person said it. Believe nothing just because a belief is generally held. Believe nothing just because it is said in ancient books. Believe nothing just because it is said to be of divine origin. Believe nothing just because someone else believes it. Believe only what you yourself test and judge to be true.

The words have meaning in duality. Duality exists until mind exists. Mind exists where there is division of form, time and space. If there is no division of form, time and space, than there is no mind. Words are used as a tool to name individual objects and feelings within the duality. The words become meaningless when one becomes aware of the formless substance of the mind, which is consciousness. Consciousness is our inner most self. From the standpoint of our inner most self, the mind is mere mirage. If mind is mere mirage then the form, time and space are mere mirage. If form, time and space are mere mirage than the thoughts and words which rises within the scope of form, time and space are also part and parcel of that mirage. Thus body, ego, words, thoughts, and whatever the contents of the universe are within the mirage created out of single stuff that is consciousness. Thus it is necessary to know 'What is mind?' and 'What is the substance of the mind?' and 'What is the source of the mind?', in order to realize the words are meaningless in the realm of truth.

But deeper self-search reveals the fact that 'I' is not the self because it appears and disappears. The formless substance and witness of the 'I' ,which is formless consciousness is the true self. If the self is form [I] than the evolution theory holds water. If the self is formless [soul] than all the theories based on the form is of no value. Until one thinks 'I' or I AM' as self all these theories cannot transport anyone beyond form, time and space. the theory of evolution is based on individuality ,whereas the self, pervades in everything and everywhere in the universe. Individuality is reality within the falsehood. Thus all the theory based on individuality is bound to be falsehood. Thus our judgment and reason and conclusion has to be based on formless self not on the form[I] as self to realize Illusion is where one is bound to:

      Form, time and space

      Birth, life and death

      Pain and Pleasure,

      Burden and bondage

      Waking, dream and deep sleep

      Universe/Mind /Duality

Illusion is created out of consciousness. Because of ignorance the illusion is experienced as reality. Illusory reality deludes because I is based on egocentricity. In egocentricity one does knows not the ultimate truth and permanently remains in ignorance.

Thus it is high time to drop all accumulated dross and move forward with deeper verification and accept only un-contradictable truth, because un-contradictable truth is non-dual truth.
In self-awareness Change and changeless are one in essence than only there is self-awareness. The knower and known and the knowledge are also consciousness. When the self which is consciousness becomes aware of its own formless true nature in the midst of diversity or duality it is called self –awareness.

Man and the world is product of ignorance. Thus it is not the man who is in ignorance but it is the formless consciousness [true self] , which is in ignorance of its true nature. When self becomes aware of its true nature than its ignorance vanishes and it alone prevails in its own awareness. Thus body, senses, intellect, ego, universe are mere mirage created out of consciousness.

You are[I AM or 'I'] is limited to physical entity . holding You are[I AM] as self is erreneous. Self is not a man but the self, which is in the form of consciousness pervades in everything and everywhere in all the three states as their formless substance and witness. SELF IS WITHIN THE THREE STATES BUT IT IS WITHOUT THE THREE STATES. Self is within the three states as their formless substance and it is without the three states as their formless witness. Limiting the self to physical entity is cause of ignorance. Ignorance is cause of experiencing the illusory duality[waking] as reality. until one thinks man is self ,he experiences the birth, life, death and world as reality. preliminary inquiry revels the fact that the self is not the body thus self is not the man. until one thinks self is man, he experiences the practical life within the practical world as reality, whereas on the ultimate standpoint - he as man and his body, his ego and his experience of the world are mere mirage created out of consciousness, which is the inner most self or our true identity. Thus all the form and names are nothing but consciousness. thus consciousness alone is real all else is false hood. the consciousness is ultimate truth or Brahman or Buddha's nature or Christ consciousness or God.

    • When the self is beyond form, time and space where is feeling to get hurt. The hurt and feeling are reality within the illusion . When one identifies with the 'I' or I AM ,the self is identified with individuality. Individuality is cause of the ignorance. Ignorance is cause of experiencing illusion as reality . Until we identify the self with words we prevail as reality thus we have to mentally grasp the reality without the words to enter the awareness of our formless true identity ,which is beyond form, time and space. I too love you in duality but in reality we are one. Thank you. I admire your humility. take care and have a blissful time in this illusory duality.

Seeker of truth should not become attached to words as being in perfect conformity with meaning, because Truth is not in the letters.

Seeker of truth should not  become attached to words as being in perfect conformity with meaning, because Truth is not in the letters. When a man with his finger-tip points to something, the finger-tip may be mistaken for the thing pointed at; in like manner the ignorant, are unable even to the day of their death to abandon the idea that in the finger-tip of words there is the meaning itself. They cannot realize Ultimate Reality because of their intent clinging to words which were intended to be no more than a pointing finger. Words and their discrimination bind one to the duality or birth, life and death; meaning stands alone and is a guide to non dual freedom. Meaning is attained by much learning, and much learning is attained by becoming conversant with meaning and not with words; therefore, seekers of truth have to avoid the sticklers for particular words."

Consciousness without division is Ultimate Reality defies all description or characterization." "All characterizations of consciousness, in short, are intended in their experiential dimension to aid those who are searching for ultimate truth or reality but have not yet realized it."

"Human language has its source in phenomenal experience; hence, it is limited in its application to states of being that are beyond that experience; logic is grounded in the duality as it relates to the phenomenal order; hence, it is unable to affirm, without at the same time denying, what extends beyond that order." Whatever is expressed is ultimately non-Brahman, is ultimately untrue."

When the practical life within the practical world are part of the illusion ,than the karma theory based on the false self within the false experience is bound to be false hood. The karma theory and individual conduct are nothing to do with self, which is ever formless.

Panchadashi: - The Atman is the witness-consciousness that experiences the action, the actor, and the world of separate things. It is like a light that illuminates everything in a theatre, revealing the master of ceremonies, the guests, and the dancers with complete impartiality. Even when they all depart, the light shines to reveal their absence.

The karma theory is meant for those who are immersed in worldly life thinking the individual life within the particle world as reality. In path of truth the karma theory becomes a great obstacle in realizing the truth.

The reincarnation is based on the karma theory. The karma theory is based on the birth, life and death. The birth, life and death are reality only on the base of the false self. Thus whatever based on the false self is bound to be false hood. By accepting karma theory is accepting the falsehood as reality. Thus whatever is based on the birth identity will not yield any truth. If one accepts the karma theory then it is impossible to treat the world as illusion. All the pundits’ explanation of karma theory carries no weight on realm of truth from the ultimate standpoint.

When the self is not form but the self is formless soul, how the karma will affect the birthless self.

That Karma which is done in a previous life which produces the present life is mere religious theory.  ‘Ego’ [I] is not the self, and the true self is birthless entity, because it is formless. Karma theory has no value in the realm of truth, because self has no birth. The one which is born, lives and dies is the false entity within the false experience.

Essence of scriptuers: - Dehum- Nahum-Kohum –Sohum – which indicates the body is not the self – the self is that. Which clearly indicates the self is without the body. Therefore, the self is the formless knower of the body and the world. Without the body and the world, the self is free from birth life and death.  Therefore, karma theory, which is based on the idea of birth, life, death and rebirth are part of the illusion from ultimate standpoint. Thus one has to learn to view and judge the worldview from ultimate standpoint to know what is truth and what is not truth.

When the self is neither the body nor the ego, neither the waking entity not the dream entity, then how the karma based on the false self within the false experience can yield fruits.  Therefore, karma is a religious fable.

The karma theory is reality only for those who believe their present physical identity (ego) as real, and world as reality. When the Sri, Sankara declares the world itself is illusion, and Brahman is real, then what value the karma theory has when the world is illusion, because man is part and parcel of the illusory world. Therefore, one has to view and judge the worldview on the standpoint of Brahman (Atman or soul)in order to overcome the duality, which he is experiencing it as reality.  The individuality is reality within the illusory world. Therefore, all the theories created within the illusion on the base of false entity, within the false experience, has to be the part and parcel of the illusion.  Thus it is necessary to realize the fact that Atman is the true self and all else is illusion, to overcome the illusory concept of cycle of birth, life and death.  Thus to understand and assimilate Sri, Sankara’s Advaitic truth, seeker  has to  do his own home work through inquiry, analysis and reasoning on the true base, without mixing religion, scriptures, theories  concept of god and yoga.

That is why Sri Sankara says in Aparokshanubhuti:-

   88. When the whole universe, movable and immovable, is known to be Atman, and thus the existence of everything else is negated, where is then any room to say that the body is Atman?

   89. O enlightened one, pass your time always contemplating on Atman while you are experiencing all the results of Prarabdha; for it ill becomes you to feel distressed.

   90. The theory one hears of from the scripture, that Prarabdha does not lose its hold upon one even after the origination of the knowledge of Atman, is now being refuted.

   91. After the origination of the knowledge of Reality, Prarabdha verily ceases to exist, inasmuch as the body and the like become non-existent; just as a dream does not exist on waking.

   92. That Karma which is done in a previous life is known as Prarabdha (which produces the present life). But such Karma cannot take the place of Prarabdha (for a man of knowledge), as he has no other birth (being free from ego).

   93. Just as the body in a dream is superimposed (and therefore illusory), so is also this body. How could there be any birth of the superimposed (body), and in the absence of birth (of the body) where is the room for that (i.e., Prarabdha) at all?

   94. The Vedanta texts declare ignorance to be verily the material (cause) of the phenomenal world just as earth is of a jar. That (ignorance) being destroyed, where can the universe subsist?

   95. Just as a person out of confusion perceives only the snake leaving aside the rope, so does an ignorant person see only the phenomenal world without knowing the reality?

   96. The real nature of the rope being known, the appearance of the snake no longer persists; so the substratum being known, the phenomenal world disappears completely.

   97. The body also being within the phenomenal world (and therefore unreal), how could Prarabdha exist? It is, therefore, for the understanding of the ignorant alone that the Shruti speaks of Prarabdha.

   98. “And all the actions of a man perish when he realizes that (Atman) which is both the higher and the lower”. Here the clear use of the plural by the Shruti is to negate Prarabdha as well.

   99. If the ignorant still arbitrarily maintain this, they will not only involve themselves into two absurdities but will also run the risk of forgoing the Vedantic conclusion. So one should accept those Shruti alone from which proceeds true knowledge.

The above proves that the karma is reality only on the base of false self, where one thinks body and the universes as reality. When one becomes aware of the fact that, the true self is formless soul, then the karma becomes part and parcel of illusion.   My point is that, if one accepts the karma theory as reality, he will never be able to come out of the ignorance. And ignorance makes him believe the cycle of birth, life and death as reality.  Thus the freedom which one is seeking will remain distant dream. For the one who accepts the birth life and death as reality, Self-knowledge is impossible.

Uttara mImamsa, also called Vedanta, does not consider the Upanishads and Brahmanas as arthavada subservient to vidhis. Instead, they are seen to be sources of Brahman knowledge, addressed solely to those who seek moksha or freedom. The rituals enjoined in the Vedas are applicable to the realm of dharma, but the one who seeks liberation does not merely desire a place in heaven; he is in search of ultimate Reality itself. The Upanishads are viewed as those portions of the Sruti that address philosophical questions about Reality, here called Brahman. This tradition of exegesis follows the brahma sutras of badarayana. Within Vedanta, there is considerable difference of opinion on whether the Upanishads enjoin anything at all.

According to Advaita Vedanta, the Veda addresses itself to two kinds of audiences - the ordinary ones who desire the transitory heaven and other pleasures obtained as a result of ritual sacrifices, and the more advanced seeker who seeks to know Brahman. Thus, the purva mimam.sa, with its emphasis on the karma kanda of the Vedas, is meant for the first audience, to help lead its followers along the way. However, the Vedanta, with its emphasis on the jnana kanda, is meant for those who wish to go beyond such transient pleasures.

An essential identity between Atman and Brahman is upheld in Advaita Vedanta. The personality of Sri, Sankaraand the force of Advaita teaching is so strong that most post-Sankaran schools of Vedanta consciously define their doctrines against Advaita thought.

When Advaita declares Atman and Brahman then direct realization of truth is possible without the scriptures.  Know the soul to be the true self. And true self is in the form of consciousness and realize consciousness as ultimate truth or Brahman.
Self-Knowledge is the aim of every human being. Since everyone thinks the physical body is the self their aim is misdirected and they focus their attention on materiality which makes one feel the duality [waking] as reality.
Therefore there is no need to study scriptures, or indulge in god and guru glorification or performing religious rituals.  Since, they are not the means to acquire non-dual wisdom. It is only waste of time and effort to indulge in those things.

The individual self is not real, is not accepted by many.  The non-dual wisdom is based not on the individual self [ego].  Until people hold the ‘I’ [ego] as witness, they will not reach the ultimate understanding.

When Upanishad itself declares:-   sarvam khalvidam brahma - all this (universe) is verily Brahman. By following back all of the relative appearances in the world, we eventually return to that from which it is all manifest – the non-dual reality [ Chandogya Upanishad].

Then it is no use going roundabout way, trace the Brahman which is the formless substance and witness of the universe, which is in the form of mind.  By tracing the source of the mind or universe one will be able to realize the Brahman.

The true Self is not perceptible to the senses. It is perceived by Reason. It is not perceptible as a thing with form and attributes. To those whose attention is fixed on the body and the world, it is very difficult to attain Self-knowledge. It is also very difficult for them to see the consciousness as self. The attention towards the universe [mind] should be lessened by realizing the self is not the body. The attention has to be focused on the formless substance and witness of the universe [mind] should be increased. So long as the attention is directed towards the universe, the experience of birth, life and death will prevail as reality. But when the attention is directed towards the formless witness, the ignorance vanishes and sense of duality will disappear. Then there is unity in diversity.

What is the state of the ego or physical self when it has realized that the self is not the body? Such souls have attained their pristine condition. “Self” is not visible to the physical eyes. “Self” is not to be found in the world as a thing, entity or an object. Self is above these, has neither beginning nor ending.

A visible object has a beginning and an ending. Since Atman, which is in the form of consciousness is invisible to the physical eye; Atman or consciousness is without beginning and ending. Atman is always constant. Just as space is homogeneous everywhere, so is the Atman the same everywhere.

But he who is truly wise Always sees the absolute Self. Celebrated, he is not delighted. Spurned, he is not angry. Pure of heart, He watches his own actions As if they were another's. How can praise or blame disturb him?
- Ashtavakra Gita 3:9-10

They live in freedom who have gone beyond the dualities of life. Competing with no one, they are alike in success and failure and content with whatever comes to them. They are free, without selfish attachments; their minds are fixed in knowledge. They perform all work in the spirit of service, and their karma is dissolved.
- Bhagavad Gita 4:22-23

An intense desire for truth -realization is itself the way to it. The Lord is The Self in Advaita. Therefore   one need not accept anything other than the self, which is consciousness. Thus consciousness alone is ultimate truth or Brahman that is free from falsehood.

Advita[non-duality]  and dwith[duality]  is  state of  the self. It is not some intellectual theory. Religious based Advitins believe the Ataman [soul] is Brahman; and the world is illusion. Religious dwitins believes the body as self, and they believe world is reality, and they believe in creator and creation theory.   In India Adivita and Dwaith is mere a religious tradition, which they inherited from their ancestors. No one questions their validity, because it is considered blasphemy to question any guru and god-men or pundiths.

People who are attached to their religious  code of conduct and trying to preach Advaita , that is mixing the individual life, and concept of god, and all mixed up hotchpotch  religious doctrine and feed the seeking minds, are themselves not aware of the fact that,  the individuality,  and the worldly life is part of the illusion.

Buddha must have verified religion, Vedas and concept of god and found them inadequate and useless in pursuit of truth and rejected them and he got enlightened without the aid of religion, Vedas and concept of god.

After studying and going through all the rigorous training from the religious scholars in Theosophical Society, J.K was confused about all these, and when he started verifying with deeper introspection, he found everything was priest-crafted hotchpotch ideologies. Thus, he refused to become the world guru, rejected it, and walked out and condemned the priest craft.

In Advith they accept karma theory.  If they accept the karma theory, one will not be able to reach the nondual destination. If one accepts karma theory then it is impossible to treat the world as illusion. All the pundits’ explanation of karma theory carries no weight on realm of truth because if karma is accepted they are accepting the false self [ego or body] as true self and false experience [universe or waking] as reality.

The birth, life and death are part of the waking experience, which is mere illusion on the standpoint of the true self.  It is no use of saying that, we are not born, we do not die because, because we all were born and we all are going to die. However, the birth, life and death are part of the illusion, which comes and goes as waking experience.  The formless witness of the three states is real, which is our identity has no birth and death. That is why self-knowledge is nothing to do with the religious based Advith, which is based on Vedas.

A Gnani will never say we are not born; we are not going to die.   Only to the mediocre who nod their head, he will say this to inspire them to think of the formless true identity, which is birth less, deathless.   Thus, it is wrong to say we are not born and we do not die by limiting the self to the physical entity.  If one limits the self to the physical entity alone, one gets only half-truth.  The consciousness, which is the true self, pervades all the three states, as their formless substance and witness.  The formless substance and witness, which is our true self [true identity]. Without knowing the true self-mere saying, we are not born, we do not die is not the knowledge, which has come from depth, it is mere bookish knowledge.

When Sri,Sankara says: world is unreal . He never said body is unreal. He would have said only birth and death is unreal but he did not say that, he said the world is unreal.   He meant   the world including the body, because the body and world appear together and disappear together [waking/dream].  Then we have to think, what remain without the body and the world as reality. How can the birth, life, death, rebirth, and reincarnation, which take place in unreal world [waking/dream], can be true.   The one, which is aware of the birth, life death, rebirth and reincarnation [illusion/unreal], is formless reality, which is the true self/true identity.  The formless self is your true identity, which is birthless and deathless but it is the witness of the birth, life and death and rebirth [illusion/unreal].

On the standpoint of identity the birth, life, death, rebirth and reincarnation theory is part of the illusion/unreal.  The body cannot reincarnate, the body and the world are created out of the same formless stuff. Until one views and judges on the base of flesh, bone and blood [five elements], he will not be able to grasp the non-dual truth.  Thus, one must know on what standpoint we are not born and we do not die thoroughly, just by hearsay views, it will not lead anyone to the nondual destination.

Seeker has to learn to view and judge on the standpoint of formless witness [ FW]/soul/self. Then he will be never having any confusion.  When one thinks deeply then only the inner revelation starts and start burning the dross [confusion/doubts]. One has enough material stored in one’s subconscious by reading the Formless Path  blogs; all will start yielding fruits and start revealing, when he starts thinking very deeply.  This is the inner process every serious seeker experiences.  The inner dialogue will start and one will start getting answers from inner core of his existence.

There is neither experience nor the experiencer in non-dual reality but only self-awareness.

Mind is in an experience not experiencer. Mind appears as waking or dream [duality] and disappears as deep sleep [non-duality]. Man his world are within the waking or dream.  The waking experience is parallel dream. And dream is parallel waking experience.  Thus trying to experience the truth as an individual is total impossibility.  Thus the people who are trying to experience the self as in individual are in hallucination because self is not an individual it is universal. Self which is consciousness pervades in everything and everywhere in all the three states. Thus the people who are expounding knowledge that self can be experienced as an individual are playing with the feelings and sentiments of the people and make them hallucinate and keep them permanently in the grip of hallucination.  The truth has to be mentally traced and grasped, understood assimilated and realized by deeper self-search because it is hidden within the three states but it is beyond the three states.

That is why Sri, Sankara indicated in Viveka Chudamani : - 65.

Seeker of truth  can have direct realization of  the ultimate truth or Brahman , through deeper self-search  and avoid losing precious time and effort loosing himself in philosophical studies.

Both modern science and religion offer hypotheses and theories but there is one vital difference--science begins with facts which it collects; religion begins with fancies. Science evolves its hypotheses from such facts, religion from fancies.

Science declares that oxygen combines with hydrogen to give water. And it also declares oxygen is protons or electrons. But in pursuit of truth the whole physical existence (universe or mind) is considered as illusion and science and their inventions, which are based on the physical existence is limited to physical existence. The truth is within but it is beyond the physical existence.  The science demands physical proof.  But the physical proof is part of the illusion. Hence science cannot go beyond physicality because the truth cannot be traced with laboratory conditions.

Deeper self-search  is required if one wants to  the ultimate truth or brahman ,which is beyond form, time and space.

Common people and primitive minds fall into faulty thinking through their inherited conditioning , such faulty thinking and reasoning  makes them accept the experience of birth, life and death as reality ; taking what one sees through  the senses  as real, taking what is apparent obvious and superficial as true because it is less troublesome.

Many People adopt the attitude that what   they know is truth. And what others say is false. This attitude makes them not to verify anything other then what they know.   One needs to be rational, not merely logical. Logic is has its value only in physical plane.

As one advances towards spiritual plane he sees the logic underlying experience and becomes more rational. His reasoning is two-fold--implicit and explicit.

There is a need of facts of physical proof in scientific invention, whereas in pursuit of truth the proof has to be grasped mentally and realized.  Therefore, the truth is realized only by few who take this mental pursuit.  “Whatever facts revealed, which is un-contradictable has to be accepted as truth.

The truth based on the formless soul or consciousness, the innermost self is worthwhile; without it, one has something else, not truth.  Most people refuse to venture into pursuit of truth; because they do not want to go into the root of things.

The seeker of truth has to study, inquire and reason in the beginning of the pursuit of truth, because it is absolutely necessary in pursuit of truth.

One has to know the true self is not physical but the formless spirit.  The spirit or soul or the self is in the form of consciousness. Consciousness gives one the awareness of the three states.

The ignorance of the true self is the cause of experiencing the duality as reality.  The ignorance vanishes through realization of the true Self, which is the soul or consciousness or spirit.

The true the Self   does not lie in our body, in our brain, or our ego, but it is the essence of the dual and non-dual experiences, which comes and goes as waking dream and deep sleep.

The yearning of the mind for its formless non-dual true nature is beyond form, time and space or beyond the experience of the birth, life, death and the world.  The seeker of truth only got preoccupied with practical life within the practical world till now to quench this inner unknown restlessness, not fully comprehending what he seeks.

The self cannot be experienced as an individual because self is not an individual it is formless and universal.  People think the pundit’s interpretation of Upanishads and get stuck to the idea of experience as a touch stone. One has to realize the self is not form but self is formless consciousness, is prior to any experience. Experience implies duality.  Duality is mere illusion from ultimate standpoint.   In reality experience and experiencer are one in essence. Thus there is no second thing exists other than consciousness.  Hence it is non-dual.

Experience belongs to individuality. And individuality is falsehood. There is neither individual nor his experience in reality. Man and his experience of the world cannot exist without waking experience. Whatever we are discussing, we are discussing within the waking experience. One has to know: whether physical body and the world are within the mind or the mind is within the physical body? The mind, physical body, ego and the world are present only, when the whole experience of the waking or dream is present. And mind is absent, when the waking or dream experience is absent. Thus one has to conclude the mind as the whole waking or dream experience. Thus the mind appears and disappears as waking or dream experience. All your arguments are truth only on the base of the ego, which is the false self, within the false experience (waking). The individual experiences within the waking are as real as dream.

Suppose the same subject, if we are discussing in the dream and one asks me the same questions in the dream, then whatever he said in dream becomes unreal, when the waking takes place. Whatever one saying now, he is saying within the waking experience. The waking is unreal on the base of the formless witness, which is Atman. Atman is in the form consciousness.

How does one see various objects, scenes and persons during dreams? If the dream is experienced without the physical body, then what is it that experiences the dream? Therefore, there must be a formless witness of the dream world. This formless witness is the same witness that is witnessed this Waking experience also. Therefore the Waking experience and dream both are witnessed by one and only formless witness of which the seeker is not aware of. Since he considers the physical body (ego or waking entity) as the self or witness and views and judges the world-view on the standpoint of false self, within the false experience. The formless witness can exist with or without the waking or dream. But waking /dream cease to exist, without the formless witness.

The gross Waking experience is merged into the mental experience in the sense that, when it is analyzed, it is found to exist inseparably in and as the mind alone. All "spiritual" planes are really mental: those who regard them as different or higher are deceiving themselves. The dream becomes unreal when the waking takes place; similarly the waking becomes unreal when the wisdom dawns. Therefore everything has to be grasped mentally, not argued on the intellectual point of view, which is limited to the false physical entity within the false experience.

The unreal is created out of real, and when one views and judges on the standpoint unreal (ego)then there is duality. When one is able to view and judge on the standpoint of real (Atman-or soul or consciousness, the innermost self) then there is only non -duality. Therefore, when the wisdom dawns then there is neither duality, nor non duality, only reality. This is my views and conviction.

All these confusion will go on, until man thinks, he is an individual and apart from the world, and the world existed prior to him and he is born in it afterwards. Therefore, it is necessary to know the fact the true self is not ego, but the true self is the soul, and stop viewing and judging the world-view on the standpoint of the physical self (ego), and one has to view and judge on the true self (soul or Atman) to realize the fact that, the world along with man is illusion. The formless substance from which the illusion is created is Atman. Thus Atman is Brahman or ultimate reality. Thus no second thing exists on the standpoint of Atman or consciousness as self. Thus, there is neither experience nor the experiencer in non-dual reality but only self-awareness.

The ‘I’ or ‘I AM’ is physical prison.

The one who discriminates between the Real and the unreal, whose focus of attention is turned away from the illusory physical existence, who possesses calmness and who is longing for freedom from experiencing the illusion as reality, is alone considered qualified to take path of reason.

Enumerated discrimination between the Real and the unreal yearning for freedom . A firm conviction to the effect that the soul, which is in the form of consciousness, is real and the mind, which is in the form of universe is  unreal, is designated as discrimination between the Real and the unreal.

The ‘I’ or ‘I Am’ are mere words.  The reality is beyond thoughts and words.

Deeper self-search revels the fact that, the ‘I’ is not the self.  ‘I’ is in the form of mind. Mind is in the form of universe. And universe appears as waking or dream and disappears as deep sleep.  The formless substance and witness of the three states which is formless consciousness is the true self.

If the self is form [I or waking or dream] than the evolution theory holds water. If the self is formless [soul] than all the theories based on the form is of no value. Until one thinks 'I' or I AM' as self all these theories cannot transport anyone beyond form, time and space. The theory of evolution is based on individuality, whereas the self, pervades in everything and everywhere in the universe. Individuality is reality within the falsehood. Thus all the theory based on individuality is bound to be falsehood. Thus our judgment and reason and conclusion has to be based on formless self not on the form[I] as self to realize Illusion is where one is bound to:
Freedom is becoming free from experiencing the illusion or duality as reality by realizing the fact that, the self is not the form but self is formless.  It is possible to   realize this without realizing the fact that, the individual self or ego is reality within the false experience.  Thus all the knowledge accumulated by judging on the base of false self, is false knowledge.

The ‘I’ or ‘I AM’ is physical prison.

If ‘I’ is not the physical body, what is it?

Since the sense of ‘I’ is present only when the mind is present and it disappears along with mind. The seeker will come to conclusion after thoroughly verifying this fact through inquiry, analysis and reasoning and then come to firm conviction that ‘I’ is mind.

If ‘I’ is mind and mind is universe and universe appears as waking or dream are one and the same thing.

It is wrong to identify the self as he or she because it refers to physicality. The self is genderless because it is formless. Identifying “Self” as he or she, leads to all sorts’ of doubts and confusion.  When the self is identified as he or she it becomes physical self /ego.

When the ego is not the self, it is erroneous to judge the truth on the base of ego/physical self and come to some conclusion of finality on the physical base is erroneous because the truth is prior appearance of the physical existence. Thus, the truth has to be judged on the ultimate point of view, not on the base of what appeared later on.

Man has been conditioned to think and be and behave and believe and live as an individual separate from the world. Therefore, the self has been identified with physical body with the name within the waking experience.

The ‘mind’ is the Waking or dream experience. The Waking or dream is not the experience of the physical body but of the Soul/Self. The man and his world are within the mind; therefore mind is not within the brain. This has to be understood to assimilate the self-knowledge. Without understanding this fact the assimilation is impossibility.

The nature of the Self is formless non-dual.  The nature of the mind is duality or diversity. The self is the formless substance of the mind /duality /diversity. Therefore, the whole experience of the diversity created out of single stuff.  Therefore, there is no division in ultimate standpoint is the self, which in the form of consciousness. Viewing the worldview on the base of the physical self is the cause of division and separation.

When the seekers become aware of the fact that the true self is not physical but the soul, he becomes aware of the fact that the mind is mere illusion.   The one who is ignorant of the true self experiences the duality as reality.

A person perceives the world within the mind.  Absent of mind is absent of waking or dream. Thus waking or dream is mind.

One thinks he is an individual separate from the world within the mind. He is unaware of the fact that the mind is not within his brain, but he and his experience of the world are within the mind.  Thus, he thinks he is born in this world and world existed prior to him. Thus this conviction makes him believe the birth, life and death as reality.  Until this conviction is thee he will   views and judges the worldview on the physical base, which is the cause of ignorance of the fact that, the true self is the soul.

This ignorance of the true self is the main hurdle in pursuit of truth. Therefore, it is very much necessary to rectify the seeking base from physical [form] to spirit [formless] before proceeding further in pursuit of truth.

If the seeking base is not rectified it will lead one towards hallucination. When the mind itself is myth then the man and his experience of the world is bound to be myth. Therefore perfect understanding of the mind will help one to unfold the mystery of the mind.  It is impossible to unfold the truth on the base of false self within the false experience, because the truth is prior to the appearance of the falsehood.  And falsehood creates ignorance.

Seeker has to burn down the ignorance by rectifying the base of reasoning by realizing the fact that self is not physical but it is the formless consciousness.

THE ‘I’ OR ‘I AM’ IS CAUSE OF THE IN IGNORANCE. Thus one has to get rid of the ignorance by overcoming the intoxication of ‘I’ or I AM which intoxication stuff in pursuit of truth is.

That is why Sri, Sankara says in VivekaChudamani :-

61. For one who has been bitten by the serpent of Ignorance, the only remedy is the knowledge of Brahman. Of what avail are the Vedas and (other) Scriptures, Mantras (sacred formulae) and medicines to such a one?

62. A disease does not leave off if one simply utter the name of the medicine, without taking it; (similarly) without direct realization one cannot be liberated by the mere utterance of the word Brahman.

63. Without causing the objective universe to vanish and without knowing the truth of the Self, how is one to achieve Liberation by the mere utterance of the word Brahman ? — It would result merely in an effort of speech.

64. Without killing one’s enemies, and possessing oneself of the splendor of the entire surrounding region, one cannot claim to be an emperor by merely saying, ‘I am an emperor’.

People who are yearning for spiritual truth will not find it through intellectual speculation and assumption. Intellectual truth is individual truth. Love implies duality and love is individual feelings within the falsehood. Love is necessary and valuable in the stated of ignorance but it is not the means to acquire wisdom.  Love is religious tool to lead life in practical world.  And Religious truth is individual truth and it is not universal truth because the religion is based on individuality.
