Change of religion is not the means to acquire self-knowledge

Dali Lama said: change of religion may be easy but it is very bad and creates confusion. He cited a few instances of emotional conflict after conversion. It is “safer” for an individual, particularly in India to follow his/her own religion. [DH-DEC-21-2009]

Change of religion is not the means to acquire self-knowledge.  When the self is not the physical entity, and physical entity is the false self, then the religion which is based on the false self is limited to false self and the false experience.

Deeper inquiry and, analysis and reasoning on the true base revels the fact that, the consciousness is the true self. On the base of the consciousness as self the man, world and his belief of god are mere illusion.   The truth is consciousness is real, and the three states are unreal, the unreal created out of the real which is the consciousness
