    • Dear Maniji, That is not your true picture. Your self is eternal without your body, name and your experience of the universe or form, time and space. Everyone's picture is without the body, name and the experience of the universe sooner or later in duality or illusion. Realizing the body and the experience of universe as consciousness in the midst of diversity brings unity in diversity. Thus recognizing our true identity in the midst of illusory diversity leads us to realize or true identity is ever birth- less and deathless.

    • Dear Maniji, I respect your views. But as per my conviction derived from deeper self-search:- Our practical life[vyavaharic] within the practical world itself is mere illusion. Until we mentally hold it as reality we are blocking our realization of our true identity. Realizing our true identity in the midst of duality[vyavaharika life] is the goal of every seeker. By mentally clinging to our true identity the our waking experience becomes a passing show.

    • Rs Mani When you say, "By mentally clinging" Santoshji, mind itself is mithya, or illusion, it it not? But that is the only way to abide in that!!!!

    • Dear Maniji, we becomes aware of mind is mithya within the mithya . Only when one becomes aware of the the fact that mind ,which is in the form universe is mithya, only when we become aware of its formless substance and witness, which is consciousness. the consciousness is our inner most self . thus the self is neither waking entity nor the dream entity. thus it is erroneous to say the mind is mithya on the base of the waking entity ,which is false self within the false experience. Thus the whole universe[mind or diversity] is created out of single material which is consciousness. thus consciousness alone is real all else [universe or mind ] is mere illusion created out consciousness. We cannot say mind is mithya because man and his experience of the universe are within the Mind. Until one thinks the mind is within the body he has all sorts of confusion. When one becomes aware of the fact that mind is the universe ,which appears as waking or dream[[duality] and disappears as deep sleep [non-duality] he will start realizing the un- real nature of the mind or universe.

That is why Sri,Sankara indicated in [VC]63. Without causing the objective universe to vanish and without knowing the truth of the Self, how is one to achieve Liberation by the mere utterance of the word Brahman ? — It would result merely in an effort of speech. Until one knows 'What is mind? What is substance of the mind? 'What is the source of the mind? to realize the ultimate truth or Brahman is impossibility. One has to have truth realization in the midst of mithya or waking, which everyone experiences as reality until ignorance vanishes through wisdom . Without knowing what is untruth one will not know what is truth.

    • Samir Parekh Even the rituals we carry out every day remind us of this. Ashes on the forehead, praying to Yama facing south during the daily sandhya, etc. (so perhaps, we do not need such a drastic reminder LOL)

    • Rituals are for those who think the practicle life within the practicle world as reality. It is not for those the one has chosen path of Gnana. Mundaka Upanishad indicates: - The rituals and the sacrifices described in the Vedas deal with lower knowledge. The sages ignored these rituals and went in search of higher knowledge. ... Such rituals are unsafe rafts for crossing The sea of samsara, of birth and death. Doomed to shipwreck are those who try to cross The sea of samsara on these poor rafts. Ignorant of their own ignorance, yet wise In their own esteem, these deluded men Proud of their vain learning go round and round Like the blind led by the blind.

Sri, Ramana Maharishi said: scriptural knowledge is conceptual divisions invented by teachers of philosophy by their excessive analysis. Where do all these concepts end? Why should confusion created and then explained away? Fortunate is the man who does not lose himself in the labyrinths of philosophy, but goes straight to the source from which they all arise.

Ramana Maharishi indicated the direct path to the truth, is the source from which the false arises. Thus the source is the soul/ Atman, which is the true self. Atman itself is Brahman. Thus it is necessary to view the worldview on the base of the source, which the true self, and formless substance and witness of the experience of diversity. Thus deeper inquiry, analysis and reasoning on the true base, one can acquire the self –knowledge in lesser time and effort. The unity in diversity is possible only through self-knowledge not by mastering the scriptural knowledge.
One has to bifurcate the physicalized Adavaita [religious orthodoxy ] which is meant for the mass mind set, who are incapable inquire to verifying their inherited beliefs. But for the seekers truth, to get the pure essence of non-duality which is based on the formless soul. The path of inquiry, analysis and reasoning on the true base, leads one towards the non-dual destination. Therefore, there is need to rectify the seeking base from ego base to soul base to understand, assimilate and realize the non-dual truth. Thus one has to drop orthodox Advita if one is seeking ultimate truth or Brahman.
