The dream man, and dream world
are reality, until waking takes place. A tiger attacks on the dream entity,
within the dream is reality and produces the same reaction, such as fear and
trembling of limbs, as reality would be within the dream.
The dream cannot be said unreal until the waking takes place. Only on the examination with the deeper self-search , it is found that the waking also never exists as reality but the soul , the formless witness of the three states alone was there all the time.
The dream cannot be said unreal until the waking takes place. Only on the examination with the deeper self-search , it is found that the waking also never exists as reality but the soul , the formless witness of the three states alone was there all the time.
The waking or dream cannot be
described as both real and unreal unless and until one becomes aware of the existence of the formless witness of the three states mentally, because these two contradictory qualities cannot
exist in the same substance. It must therefore be said that the waking or dream is
neither real nor unreal, because they are a mere mirage created out of consciousness (soul), the innermost self.
Mirage is described as 'myth'. The Waking or dream appears because we think ‘waking entity ’ as self. This waking appears to exist because of our ignorance of the formless soul, the innermost self. Thus the Waking is also real on the standpoint of the ego or waking entity and unreal as reality on the base of the formless soul, the innermost self. The waking or dream is superimposed on the soul the true self. Thus it is necessary to learn to view and judge the three states on the base of the soul as self in order to understand and assimilate the self-knowledge or Bramha Gnana.
The experiencing
birth, life, death and the world are within the illusion. Due to ignorance, the illusion is experienced
as reality. The illusion is present in the form of ‘I’ or mind. The mind is present
in the form of the universe. The universe appears as waking or dream and disappears as
deep sleep. The three states are one in essence and that
essence is consciousness. The consciousness (soul) is the innermost self. On
the standpoint of the innermost self the three states are illusory.
Thus experiencing the birth, life, death and the world within the illusion (waking or universe) with the illusory self (waking entity or ego), within the illusory experience (waking), has to be an illusion.
The illusion is created, and sustained, and finally dissolves as consciousness, which is the innermost Self. Since, there is no second thing other than the consciousness (soul); the consciousness itself is ultimate truth or Brahman. The one who has realized this truth for him this illusion is passing show because he is fully aware of the fact that his body, his ego and his experience of the world to be consciousness. Practical peoples approach is more practical, and they are stuck with the reality of the practical life within the practical world, they take it as real whereas Gnani sees his body his ego and his experience of the world as consciousness.
The self is in the form of consciousness. As true self is also the One, the Subtle, the Knower, the Witness, the Ever-Existent, and the Unchanging, so there is no doubt that it is the consciousness.
Consciousness the true self is verily one and without parts, whereas the body consists of many parts; and yet everyone confounds these two as one due to ignorance.
Consciousness is the ruler of the three states and is internal; the three states are the ruled and are external.
Consciousness is permanent. All the three states are an illusion created out of consciousness. Consciousness is the Illuminator and purity itself; the three states are said to be of the nature of darkness.
Consciousness is eternal, since it is Existence itself; the three states are transient, as they are non-existence in essence.
It is very strange that a person ignorantly rests contented with the idea that the self is the body and world as reality, while he knows that the body and the universe exist because of the consciousness.
True Self verily consciousness, being equanimous, quiescent, and by nature absolute Existence, Knowledge. The true Self is neither the body nor the mind which are non-existence in their essence. This is called true Knowledge by the Gnani.
Consciousness is without any change, without any form, free from all blemish and decay. Consciousness not subjected to any disease, and it is beyond all comprehension, free from all alternatives and all-pervading.
Consciousness is without any attribute or activity, true self is eternal, ever free, and imperishable. Consciousness is free from all diversity; true self is immovable, unlimited, undecaying, and immortal.

The world is mere illusion or myth. Therefore, the
birth, life and death that take place within the world, is also an illusion. The belief of god, the religion and its
scriptures are reality within the illusion.
Therefore, trying to get enlightenment on the base of waking entity
which is limited to the waking experience is erroneous, because the waking
entity is false self within the false experience. Therefore, it is necessary to realize the
fact that the self is neither the waking entity nor dream entity but the
formless knower of the coming and going of the three states. Any type physical practice will lead one to
hallucinated enlightenment, based on the imagination.

Dream become
unreal when waking takes place. That means the dream entity, people within the
dream and the dream world becomes unreal. The same way the waking entity and people
within the waking experience and the waking world becomes unreal when wisdom
dawns.
A person, who stamped
his foot on the ground to refute to show the world, is real, ignore that in
a dream he would do exactly the same--stamp his dream foot on the ground and
assert it to be real.
All the three states are produced by ignorance, and dissolves in the wake
of non-dual wisdom. The material or cause of the duality is the One without a
second, more subtle and unchanging Existence, just as the water is the material or cause
of the cloud and the like.
