Without the realization of the ultimate truth or Brahman man remains as ignorant of the ultimate truth or Brahman. Without the realization of ultimate truth, the seeker remains as a seeker. On physical plan there is a seeker, seeking and destination but from the ultimate standpoint there is neither seer, seeking and or destination. ~Santthosh Kumaar
Ignorance is the greatest obstacle in pursuit of truth. Any type of experience is the product of ignorance. Wherever there is experience there is duality. Wherever there is duality there is bound to be falsehood. Thus, all our experience of birth, life, death and the world are mere illusion created out consciousness. Thus, the consciousness (soul or Atman) alone is real all else is falsehood.
The ignorant thinks that, the self is the waking entity (ego) and perceives the world without being aware of the fact that, the three states are mere illusory experience created out of consciousness. Thus, they try to judge the truth on the false entity (waking entity or ego) within the false experience (waking). Until one makes sure of the self is not human but self is spirit it is difficult understand and assimilate self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana. it is erroneous to judge and conclude the ultimate truth as a human because the self is not human, but the self is the spirit(soul). Thus, one has to make sure of the fact that, the self is neither the waking entity nor self is the dream entity but the self is formless soul or consciousness, which witnesses the coming and going of the three states without the physical apparatus. ~Santthosh Kumaar
The dream ego, dream body and the dream world are reality within the dream, but the dream is considered as falsehood when waking takes place. Similarly the waking ego, waking body and the waking world are reality within the waking experience but the waking experience also becomes falsehood, when the wisdom dawns.
The wisdom dawns when the waking entity realizes it itself is not the self in the midst of waking experience.
Sage Sri, Sankara:~ VC~ Verse 227: ~ “All this universe which through ignorance appears as of diverse forms, is nothing else, but Brahman which is absolutely free from all the limitations of human thought.”
The world in which we live is not created, because it is mere an illusion. The soul is trapped in the illusion due to its own ignorance. The creator creation theory is the false theory based on the false self(ego). All one has to do is, to realize, the self is not he but the self is the formless soul, which witnesses him and the world together.
The waking experience is the state of ignorance. In the state ignorance the self (soul) remains experiencing an illusion as reality. Till illusion remains reality, he will remain ignorant of the fact that, the cycle of birth, life and death are mere mirage. Therefore, it is not possible for one to accept the fact that, world is an illusion, till he becomes aware of the fact that , the self is neither the waking entity nor the self is dream entity, but the self the formless soul or consciousness ,which is substance and witness of the three states. Therefore, for those who believe the waking entity as self, and refuse to accept the soul as true self and they think by getting rid of the ego or by surrendering to their Guru is the means to self-realization.
The seeker has to become aware of the existence of the formless witness apart from the three states. The formless witness is the soul, the innermost self, which witnesses the coming and going of the three states.
The ego, the body and the world appear together and they disappear together. The ego, body and the world are one in essence. That essence is the soul or the consciousness.
The waking entity is the false self (ego or the waking entity) within the false experience (waking), whereas the self is birthless and deathless, because self is formless. Thus, surrendering with the false self within the false experience is bound to false surrender. The surrendering is a religious fable meant for the ignorant people who stuck with the reality of the illusory world (waking)
Sage Sri, Sankara says: - VC-47 All the effects of ignorance, root and branch, are burnt down by the fire of knowledge, which arises from discrimination between these two—the Self and the not-Self.
