Guru disciple theory becomes greatest obstacle in pursuit of truth.

A true Guru is the soul/self and never represents the physical body that is seen by the seeker, but the nondual awareness, which is to be revealed within the mind [waking]. Thus, being the Awareness within, the real Guru is always with the mind and it is the job of any genuine Gnani not to dominate the seeker but to free him from the illusion that he/she is the body or the mind.

The seekers who are aware of the fact that, the guidance is coming from within even though it appears to come from outside, because the waking experience is dependent on the soul, which is in the form of consciousness. Without the soul or consciousness, the waking experience ceases to exist. The three states are dependent on the soul or consciousness for their existence whereas the consciousness can exist with or without the three states. The man and the world are part of the illusion, therefore the guru disciple relationship  also part of the illusion. The person who thinks himself as guru or disciple has accepted himself as body, thus the guru disciple theory becomes greatest obstacle in pursuit of truth.
