The witness is not physical , thus whatever is seen through the physical eyes is not the truth. The real witness has to be grasped mentally, because it is formless. The witness cannot be seen by the eyes, because it is the true Self indeed. This Self is not something other then soul.
Contradictions exist only in duality. The duality is mere illusion on the ultimate standpoint. because one cannot see the whole, because he is within the whole. Hence the contradiction. As a person one can see only the aspect, never the whole -- hence the contradiction.
One has to observe the fact that, the whole dream experience, which consist of man and the world witnessed without the physical apparatus. The same witness witnesses witnesses the waking as a whole. The waking or dream entity is not the witness of the three states. The witness of the three states is formless and it is always apart. Therefore, judging the truth on the waking entity or ego is erroneous.
The soul is the innermost self . Soul is in the form of consciousness. Consciousness dwells within the universe (mind) as its formless substance and witness. When the universe or mind
disappears, then the formless witness is present without the physical body and
the experience of the universe. Thus holding the waking or dream entity as self
and trying to discover the truth is like trying to drain the ocean drop by
drop.
When self-wakes
up in its formless true nature, the whole universe becomes mere mirage created
out of it. And no second thing exist other than consciousness.
It takes
the role of Witness when wisdom dawns. But when its appearance is withdrawn, The role of Witness is abandoned as well. Thus only in wisdom one consciously
becomes aware of the fact that, the witness is real and witnessed is unreal. And
the unreal is created out of the real, thus there is no second thing exists
other than consciousness.
Consciousness
assumes the form of the universe; without the universe, it is left naked. If night and day were to approach the Sun, both would disappear. In the same way,
their duality would vanish if their essential Unity were seen.
“Relax, and observe mentally that,
your body is not ‘Self,’ your ego is not ‘Self,’ you are not ‘Self’. You are
false entity within the false experience. ‘Self ‘is within the universe but
‘Self’ is without universe. You are part and parcel of that universe, which
appears as waking or dream (duality) and disappears as deep sleep (non-duality)
the self is the formless witness which witnesses you (ego) and the universe
together.
‘Self’ is just a formless witness of you and your experience of the world. This witness is like a mirror. The body and the world are mere reflection on it. The mirror is unaffected by the reflection on it. It is its ultimate non-dual nature. Once seeker has grasped this truth, once he has walked the path to the innermost core, he will never be the same again. Finally he has to awaken to his formless non-dual true identity.
To the eyes of a Gnani, the whole existence becomes enlightened. A Gnani realizes his body, his ego his experience of the world are one in essence. The essence is formless consciousness, which is the innermost self. The waking and dream reflects in mirror of consciousness without creating any ripples on the mirror when one becomes aware the mirror and its reflection are one in essence.
When the
wisdom dawns the mind starts melting into the soul. The wisdom destroys all
distance between the mind and the soul. Mind becomes a non-existence; it becomes
nothingness(soul) in the midst of diversity. And that nothingness(soul) is the non-dual
nature of the consciousness, which is the innermost self.
