"The world is filled with different mindsets with so
many varied beliefs; many wants to impose their ideas and viewpoints based on
their accepted truth and on the different subject. Thus it becomes difficult to
move on convincing everyone. Such debate
and discussion based different view point’s leads only to arguments which yield
no fruits and waste of time and effort.
Thus it is necessary to study the full subject and discuss only within
the scope of that subject will lead the seeker to his spiritual destination.
The Waking experience (illusion) is superimposed on the consciousness the innermost self. Therefore, the formless
witness of the waking experience is consciousness. Without the formless
witness the waking experience (seen) ceases to exist.
The Dream (illusion)
is parallel waking experience and dream is also superimposed on the on the consciousness . Thus the formless witness of the dream and waking is consciousness.
In Deep Sleep experience
in which the waking and dream (illusion) are absent that is the absences of
duality. Thus the experience of duality
is mere illusion on base of consciousness as self.
All the three sates
are real only on the base of ‘ ego or waking entity’ as self. However on the base
of the formless soul or consciousness, the innermost self, all the three states are mere illusion or duality.
Consciousness is the substance and witness of the duality(illusion) . The duality is present in the form of mind.
Mind is present in the form of universe. The universe appears as waking or
dream and disappears as deep sleep. The one which is aware of the coming and going
of the three states is neither the waking entity nor the dream entity but the
formless soul, which is present in the form of consciousness. When the soul becomes aware of its formless non-dual true nature in the midst of duality it is called self –awareness. It is
foolish to limit the consciousness only
to duality because the consciousness pervades all the three states
The formless soul or consciousness, the innermost self, is
beyond the illusion however it is within the illusion as its formless
substance. And it is apart from the
illusion (three state) as their formless witness. It is apart because it is
not an entity or identity within the waking or dream because it is formless. Waking or dream is an object to the consciousness, the innermost self because it is the formless subject
All the three states
are not the experience of the ‘ ego or waking entity’ directly or indirectly. All three states appear and disappear in succession;
the formless knower of this appearance of these three states is the formless
witness of the three states. The seeker
who becomes aware of the existence of the formless witness is qualified for Self-Knowledge and
able to progress in the pursuit of truth and assimilate and realize it, in lesser time and
effort.
In deep sleep the waking or dream is absent. While in waking
experience one says that he did not know anything during the deep sleep. When
the person and the world are within the waking or dream, then the question
arises who slept? Who got up? Who dreamt? There must be the formless knower
apart from these states which witnesses the appearance and disappearance of
these three states in succession. The knower is formless because the forms are
within the waking or dream.
The wisdom has to be
got only in the waking experience (duality or illusion). The knowledge of the formless
witness is possible to grasp only in the waking experience. Therefore waking
experience is very important in the pursuit of truth. Most people think absent of duality or absent
of thought is the true state. It is not so. Seeker has to become aware of the
fact that the burden and bondage of the waking experience (duality) is not on
the physical body but on the formless witness to realize the waking experience
is mere illusion on the base of formless witness. Therefore the waking experience or the
thought does not disappear but the ignorance which caused the burden and
bondage of the illusory duality, which one experienced as reality
disappears. Thus, one becomes free from
experiencing the birth, life and death (waking or duality) as reality. Freeing one self from experiencing duality as
reality is real freedom.
The seeker who becomes
aware of the existence of the formless witness and learns to view the worldview on the base of
the formless witness(soul) gets the conviction that formless witness (consciousness or soul) as the
true self and he will be free from experiencing illusion as reality. Thus he becomes one with the birth-less and
deathless true identity.
