FORMLESS PATH - FACEBOOK POSTINGS

  • Religion was introduced for the mass mind set, which was unable to grasp higher truth and bereft of the old creed. So for them new religion may be concocted to suit their temperament and capacity.
Investigating into the nature of the mind and seeing the whole world in it, mentally and grasping and realizing the fact that, all the diversity is created and sustained by the consciousness and finally dissolves as the consciousness. Therefore, there is no second thing other than the consciousness in the experience of diversity. Thus the unity in diversity is possible only through perfect understanding.
The physical journey such as yoga and religion, paths and theories are for those who are incapable of performing the mental journey. Individual happiness is sought by religion, whereas Truth seekers seek universal peace, which is the true nature of the true self.
Religion is a means whereby one keeps society within a certain order. Those however who refuse to wait for the next world but want comfort here and now, are likely to follow the atheistism.
In the past religion was encouraged by the rich and the rulers because of the fear atheism because it may lead the masses to attack them and to rebel against established order of property and cause unrest in society. The poor are promised better life in the next world. Yet religion is needed for the masses, without it they might arise and rebel and become cause of concern: there would be no settled order, no stable peaceful society.
The Rulers of the past with the help of the sages had invented the religion and idea of god and injected and imposed it on people because they can give the people an opiate and keep them better under control.
Science has been opening the eyes of the people and exposed many myths of religious claim; that is why religion, with its fables instead of fact, its myth of a next-world heaven instead of making a heaven of this practical world, the some religionists are making the world hell in order to reach the paradise by causing the terror attacks in the name of god and religion.
West will gradually follow the path of the east, and imitate the east, and vice versa, which will result in the decay of all religion. The eastern religion like all religions cannot produce enduring good results; only the universal truth can do that. Therefore, universal truth is necessary to eradicate the unrest of the world caused in the name of religion and god.
The word "I” used in the eastern scriptures is not the individual me as one imagines, but the soul, which is the true self. Since everyone thinks the ‘I’ is self only the body is not self and base their theory and understanding on base of ‘I’ as self. It is very difficult for them to accept the fact that the ‘I’ itself is not the self. If this is understood the truth pursuit becomes easier.
The religion is based on the false self. Therefore there is need to understand realize the true self is not physical bit the true self is consciousness [soul]. The ritual worship of individualized gods and goddesses are only for mental children not for the seekers of truth. Religion renders ethical services to mankind.
There is no need to criticize religion, yoga etc. They are helpful in some way for those who are not on the pursuit of truth, but one has to understand the fact that they are no the means to self-realization. "Know the Truth through deeper inquiry, analysis and reasoning, is the only means to acquire non dual wisdom.”
The very fact that religions differ proves that each religion is a man made. Many in the West are giving up religion. That is inevitable owing to the decay of religious organizations. But their mistake is to rest satisfied with such negative inner life and not to aspire to something higher than religion after giving it up because their lean towards materialistic life.
Religion is a matter which must be left to individual feelings, not to intelligence. Religions keep mass mind set within moral bounds; without their help there would have been no hope for mankind. That is, religions prevent the masses from becoming even more beastly than they already are. The people cannot give up religious ideas in one day. It will have to be a gradual process by making them aware of the universal truth.

The credulous and unintelligent masses must have a religion but those who bestow serious seekers of truth need none.

As per the religion of Hindus the three "Ashrams" or stages in life were originally intended for three grades of intelligence thus:-

Religion: low intellects had to do 'karmas' works, ritual actions, chanting of mantras and indulging in bajans and prayers etc.

Middle intellects: Yoga: taking yellow robes, going to caves, ashrams etc.

High intellects: Philosophy: who wanted truth are concerned with no external rites or sanyas but depend solely on intelligent inquiry for their path.
In India, in the past the male birth is regarded as superior because a father of the male child can more easily renounce home and become a Sanyasin than a woman who is tied down by the care of her children.

Non dual wisdom can be attained by any house holder without disturbing his family life and that this path is easier; there is no need to renounce and take Sanyasa, which however is harder. Only it needs no distractions and more concentration. it is better to have been married status and lead the normal pleasures of life, and thus to have learn to evaluate sex at its proper worth instead of hankering always after sex so that the mind may pass on undisturbed and become more receptive to grasp and realize the non-dual truth.

Ashtavakra Gita which says: "For the wise man there is nothing to be renounced." He knows that everything is unreal, hence cannot be given up.
Yoga and meditation recommended as a temporary discipline to those who lack self-control. It will act as an antidote, counteract their inherent tendency, but the man who is already sufficiently level-headed and calm needs no such external discipline. In any case yoga/meditation is to be recommended only until the practitioner achieves some degree of self-control after which he may relinquish his old habits.

Yoga and meditation are a temporary discipline and for the training of the mind, for the mind to become achieve external peace, remaining unaffected amid troubles. It has no other purpose.
Mystic/yogi who objects to adopt inquiry and reasoning into the quest has an attitude of not allowing anything other than his accepted truth.

  • The truth is easier without accumulated baggage. Nothing is needed other I than investigating what is mind? What is the substance of the mind? and what is the source of the mind? But people want to argue more than discussion. Arguments leads nowhere but discussion on the subject without mixing anything takes one to the ultimate end. Inner urge to know the truth and patience and humility are must in pursuit of truth. One must have the intense urge to know the truth and ready to drop all the accumulated baggage than only it is possible to assimilate and realize the nondual truth.

      • Rs Mani Without the right means of knowledge. no knowledge is possible even that of self. To know about the self, the means of knowledge is "Shabda" or words of the Scriptures.

      • Santthosh Kumaar Katha Upanishad:
This Ataman cannot be attained by the study of the Vedas, or by intelligence, or by much hearing of sacred books. It is attained by him alone whom It chooses. To such a one Ataman reveals Its own form. [Katha Upanishad Ch-II -23-P-20]
        Mundaka Upanishad :-
This Ataman cannot be attained through study of the Vedas, nor through intelligence, nor through much learning. He who chooses Ataman—by him alone is Ataman attained. It is Ataman that reveals to the seeker Its true nature. [ 3 page70 Mundaka Upanishad Upanishads by Nikilanada]

When the Upanishad says: the human goal is to acquire Self-Knowledge and they indicate the personal gods, scriptures, worship and rituals are not the means to Self –Knowledge, then why anyone should indulge in it. The religion, concept of individualized god and scriptures are greatest obstacle to realize non-dual truth or self-realization, because they are based on false self. Therefore, one has to search the ultimate truth without losing himself in the labyrinths of philosophy, he should indulge in deeper, inquiry, analysis and reasoning and assimilate and realize it.

      • Santthosh Kumaar Sri, Sankara says in Viveka Chudamani indicated that:-
        56. Neither by Yoga, nor by Sankhya, nor by work, nor by learning, but by the realisation of one's identity with Brahman is Liberation possible, and by no other means.
        58. Loud speech consisting of a shower of words, the skill in expounding the Scriptures, and likewise erudition - these merely bring on a little personal enjoyment to the scholar, but are no good for Liberation.
        59. The study of the Scriptures is useless so long as the highest Truth is unknown, and it is equally useless when the highest Truth has already been known.
        60. The Scriptures consisting of many words are a dense forest which merely causes the mind to ramble. Hence men of wisdom should earnestly set about knowing the true nature of the Self.
        61. For one who has been bitten by the serpent of Ignorance, the only remedy is the knowledge of Brahman. Of what avail are the Vedas and (other) Scriptures, Mantras (sacred formulae) and medicines to such a one?

Sri, Ramana Maharishi:-No. Do you need all that to see yourself? All that is intellectual wealth, useful in explain doubts and difficulties if others rise them or if you yourself encounter them in the course of thinking. But to attain realization, all that is not necessary. You want fresh water to drink, but you do not require all the water of the river Ganges to quench your thirst. • Santthosh Kumaar The study of the Vedas, linguistics, Rituals, astronomy and all the arts Can be called lower knowledge. The higher Is that which leads to Self-realization. The eye cannot see it; mind cannot grasp it. The deathless Self has neither caste nor race, Neither eyes not ears nor hands nor feet. Sages say this Self is infinite in the great And in the small, everlasting and changeless, The source of life.

      • Santthosh Kumaar Seeker of truth has to know somewhere he is going wrong, and it is for the seeker to go on his own and remove the obstacle. The greatest hindrance is mixing religion, god, scriptures, and yogic theories. Moreover, attachment to scriptures, personal god and religious code of conduct keeps one permanently in the grip of duality.
For the same reason Raman Maharshi said: fortunate are the one who do not lose themselves in the labyrinths of philosophy. Bhagwan says: Take Vedanta, for instance: it speaks of 15 pranas the names and functions of it which the student is asked to commit memory. Will it not be sufficient if he thought, only one prana does the whole work of maintaining the body? Again the antakaran is said to think, to desire, to will, to reason etc. Why all these details? Has anyone seen antakarana, or all these pranas? Do they really exist? They are conceptual divisions invented by teachers of philosophy by their excessive analysis. Where do all these concepts end? Why should confusion created and then explained away? Fortunate is the man who does not lose himself in the labyrinths of philosophy, but goes straight to the source from which they all arise. (GURU RAMANA .By S.S Cohen -vii Danger of philosophy-Page -58-59)
Therefore, highlighting the obstacles in pursuit of truth, that helps the fellow seekers, to reach their non-dual destination, in lesser time and efforT.

      • Rs Mani If "This Ataman cannot be attained by the study of the Vedas, or by intelligence, or by much hearing of sacred books." why there are so many Upanishads, bhashyas, etc. Words or Shabda is the means of knowledge for "knowing" atma. It is already attained by one and all, but unfortunately, this fact is not known due to ignorance, and the only antidote for ignorance is knowledge. It reveals itself as "I" in each one of us, and what is the true unchangeable nature of this "I" is unfolded only through shabda or words of Teachers or Upanishads, etc.
        September 26 at 7:52am ·

      • Santthosh Kumaar When Upanishads themselves say that the scriptures are not the means to self knowledge they are indicating the seeker has to move independently without the scriptures. One will also trace the dates of oldest Upanishads and also some idea of Braminism and Buddhism and Hinduism as per the historian’s research essay on their origins and interaction –BRAMINISM AND BUDDHISM (by Lal Mani Joshi of dept of religious studies Punjab University Patiala). There are many books of the religious historians on this subject; if one is ready to go in deeper research without preconceived ideas then he will be able to know, what truth is, and what is untruth. And he will be able to accept the truth and drop all accumulated dross of untruth, which helps one to drop all priest crafted conditioning and to move forward in his pursuit of truth.
There is no scope for debate and argument in pursuit of truth. Seeker has to verify the facts of any claim, if find them to be true then only accept them. It is not correct to impose idea on others when they are not ready to accept anything other than their accepted truth. There is no need to prove whether Buddha is right or Sri, Sankara is wrong. But seekers only mission is to know, how to realize the nondual truth, which is propounded by the Buddha and Sri,Sankara and Sri, Goudpada? Since present practices are based on conduct and action, and they are based on the false physical self [ego]. What are the fatter and obstacle in realize the nondual truth? How to overcome the obstacle on the path of nondual truth?
The entire Hindu tradition, including of course Vedantic orthodoxy, rested on sexual, social, national, and religious discrimination—women, the sudra or lower caste, outcasts, and foreigners were excluded from Vedantic teaching. All the discriminations are obstacle in pursuit of truth.
In fact, Shankara himself had gone beyond the barriers and taboos of caste: in performing funeral rites for his mother, he broke the rules of the Brahmin caste.
The ordinary people, who finds security in the idea of causality and thus in the idea of God—and Revelation is indispensable to prove the latter. Those of superior intelligence, have no need of this idea of divine causality, and can therefore dispense with scriptures and arrive at the truth of Non-Dualism by pure reason.
Shankara, in debates with Buddhists and others who did not recognize the authority of the Vedas, had been obliged to prove the truth of Advaita by means of reason alone.
Self-knowledge or nondual wisdom does not need the support of any Scripture or Revelation like the Veda. Ultimate truth is based, not upon the varying theological fancies, which are as numerous as the sands of the sea, but upon reason, the common heritage of all mankind, irrespective of colour or creed or clime.
Religious code of conduct are fine to train the mind to be, to behave, to believe and to live in the society in peace and harmony , and religious restriction is for those not yet capable of independent judgment of judging what is right and what is wrong; but they are useless in pursuit of truth.
In Astavakara [commentaries on Astavakara Gita by Osho] it clearly mentioned that Vedas are not the means to acquire the self-knowledge. Thus it indicates that Advith is nothing to do with the Vedas.
Dual and nondual are not religious theories, but the state of the true self. When the self is in illusion then it is called duality/mind. When the self is in its formless nondual true nature then it is consciousness. Since man[physical body/’I’] is false entity within the false experience [waking] he views and judges the worldview on the base of false self, and created all this theories on the base of false self. Therefore, whatever is seen, known, experienced and believed on the false base [form base], has to be false hood, on the base of the true self [formless base].
People limit the mind to limit the physical entity, and thinks the mind is within the physical body. Whereas the physical body, ego, the universe altogether is mind. Mind is an experience, it is not an experiencer. Same way as the dream is the mere experience; the waking also is an experience. The whole experience [waking/dream] is an object to the formless subject [witness]. One has to realize the object and subject are one is essence. And that essence is consciousness.
Therefore, one has to bifurcate the physicalized Advitha [religious add-ons] which is meant for the mass mind set, who are incapable inquire to verifying their inherited beliefs. But for the seekers truth, to get the pure essence of nonduality which is based on the formless soul. The path of inquiry, analysis and reasoning on the true base, leads one towards the nondual destination. Therefore, there is need to rectify the seeking base from ego base to soul base to understand, assimilate and realize the nondual truth.
Ramana Maharshi says: this self –inquiry is not the critical study of the scriptures. When the source is reached the ego gets merged into it. The result of self-inquiry is the cure for all the sorrows. It is the highest of all the results. There is nothing greater then it. It only indicates there is no necessity to study the scriptures to acquire self-knowledge. [Page-66-practicle guide to know yourself c/e by A.R.N].

        Ramana Maharshi says:
Q by D:- Is not necessary to study the Vedas or at least the Prasthanatraya [the Bhagavad Gita,Dasopanishad and Brahma Sutras, all with commentaries]to ensure firm realization?

      • Santthosh Kumaar Krishna is teaching no particular religion, but Religion in general. The Gita nowhere refers to Hindu, Vaishnava or Saiva Matam or Dharma. The entire civilized world's need is now, to lift its viewpoint from particular religions to universal truth.
Essence of scriptures:-DEHUM-NAHUM- KOHUM – SOHUM— which indicates the body is not the self, the self is that which is without the body. Thus one can conclude, if the body is not the self then the body based religion and theories, beliefs, practices rituals and yoga are of no use in pursuit of truth.
Therefore, all the personal research is for making sure, which is the surest and easiest path to acquire self-knowledge, when we are confused with uncertainty which path easier for to acquire nondual truth or self-knowledge. Seekers thought have to be rational and scientific, opposed to blind faith in God and tradition. One has to have a clear distinction between religions, which is in the realm of opinion. And pursuit of truth aims at knowing Reality or ultimate Truth.
The religious and philosophical teachings are like oil and water. They cannot be mixed together and in future one will have to make his choice between them, if he wishes to progress and not to remain stagnating.
One has to define Truth, which his prime goal in two phases:
It is that which is beyond all contradictions
        It is universal
Ultimate truth must be based on reason, not on revelation. People from all over the world have studied and carried yoga and Vedanta to their people; now it is time to do research by bifurcating all the add-ons, which are main obstacles in realizing the universal truth.
The religion and its code of conduct are for those who are incapable of inquiring the validity their belief system. Self-knowledge is not a philosophical dish cooked to suit exclusively the palate of the particular religion. It is like the air and the water; the common food of all seekers in all over the globe to realize the fact that, the experience of diversity [mind] is mere mirage unity [consciousness] alone is real and eternal. When one realizes the unity in diversity then there is no conflict whatsoever.
Consciousness, the Supreme Reality, is the undifferentiated One. Everything, in the final analysis, is reducible to the ultimate essence, ConsciousnesS.

      • Rs Mani It is not necessary to study all the Vedas, Prasthanatraya. etc. nor is it possible. At the same time, like a glass of water quenches the thirst and one need not drink the entire ganges, one Vakya unfolding this knowledge in any of the upanishads itself can unfold the Knowledge of Atma provided the aspirant has Shraddha, as the lord says "Shraddhavan labhate gnaanam".
        September 26 at 8:15am ·

      • Santthosh Kumaar Pursuit of truth is pursuit of verification noting has to accepted as truth without verification. Buddha rejected Vedas ,concept of hod and religion . he must have verified them before rejecting them. that is why BUDDHA SAID: - Believe nothing just because a so-called wise person said it. Believe nothing just because a belief is generally held. Believe nothing just because it is said in ancient books. Believe
nothing just because it is said to be of divine origin. Believe nothing just because someone else believes it. Believe only what you yourself test and judge to be true.
There is no need to condemn scriptural authorities, and argue I am right or you are wrong. There is no need to challenging anyone’s scriptural mastery. But one has to realize the fact that the scriptural mastery is not wisdom. Nondual truth cannot be proved and realized on the base of scriptures.
Ashtvakara says: scriptural knowledge and yoga are not the means to acquire self-knowledge. Ramana Maharshi was realized the truth without any scriptures. Buddha rejected religion, scriptures and concept of god after he found them useless to acquire the truth after thoroughly verifying their validity. And as one goes into deeper research on Advitha he finds the fact that, Advith is nothing to do with Vedas.
The present religious Advitha which is based on the Vedas is modified and introduced by Sri, Sankara to uplift the Sanatana Dharma, which was in ruins in the clutches of Buddhism and Jainism. Thus all the preaching of the religious based Advitha is based on the non-duality and practice is based on the duality. The spiritual based [which was not based on Vedas] the pure Advith teaching of Sri, Sankara and Goudpada may have been distorted or lost or destroyed.
As one goes deeper in research one becomes aware of the fact that Advith is extension of Buddhism. There was no Advitha in the Vedic religion/Santana Dharma prior to Sri, Sankara that is prior to 8th Century. As one goes deeper in research one finds even the original nondual teaching of Buddha has been lost in time and present teaching is mixed and messed with the local and regional religions wherever it existed. But still we find the traces of Sri, Sankara’s and Buddha’s spiritual insights in some of the scriptures.
Therefore, it is necessary to for the seeker of truth to inquire on his own and realize the nondual truth without any scriptures in this very life time, and make sure of Sri.Sankara‘s declaration world is myth and Brahman alone is real.
Thus by quoting one authority from one scripture, and another authority from another scripture, and trying to prove and realize the truth is like, trying to drain the ocean drop by drop.
As Sri, Ramana Mahaarshi said: scriptural knowledge is conceptual divisions invented by teachers of philosophy by their excessive analysis. Where do all these concepts end? Why should confusion created and then explained away? Fortunate is the man who does not lose himself in the labyrinths of philosophy, but goes straight to the source from which they all arise.

When Ramana Maharshi indicated the direct path to the truth, is the source from which the false arises. Thus the source is the soul/ Ataman, which is the true self. Ataman itself is Brahman. Thus it is necessary to view the worldview on the base of the source, which the true self, and formless substance and witness of the experience of diversity. Thus deeper inquiry, analysis and reasoning on the true base, one can acquire the self –knowledge in lesser time and effort. The unity in diversity is possible only through self-knowledge not by mastering the scriptural knowledge.

      • Rs Mani The only thing one cannot but accept as Truth is "I" as one cannot negate "I", and all know the existence of this "I" but not the unchangeable nature of "I" the knowledge of which leads one to ultimate realization. May I say again, since it is also Knowledge, without proper means of knowledge operating, this knowledge cannot be attained. I may be wrong in my understanding.
        September 26 at 8:19am ·

      • Santthosh Kumaar Studying of scriptures is not necessary
        The Upanishads clearly indicate:-
This Ataman cannot be attained by the study of the Vedas, or by intelligence, or by much hearing of sacred books. It is attained by him alone whom It chooses. To such a one Ataman reveals Its own form. [Katha Upanishad Ch-II -23-P-20]
This Ataman cannot be attained through study of the Vedas, nor through intelligence, nor through much learning. He who chooses Ataman—by him alone is Ataman attained. It is Ataman that reveals to the seeker Its true nature. [3 –page-70 Mundaka Upanishad (Upanishads by Nikilanada)
Raman Mahrshi explains [in page 111/112- practical guide to know yourself]:-
Q: D: Is it not necessary to study the Vedas or at least Prastnatraya[Bagvad gita.Dasoponishad and Brahma Sutra all with commentaries] to ensure firm realization?
A: Bhagvan: - No. Do you need all that to see yourself? All that is intellectual wealth, useful in explain doubts and difficulties if others rise them if you yourself encounter them in course of thinking. But to attain realization, all that is not necessary. You want fresh water to drink, but you do not require all the water of the river Ganges to quench your quest.
Raman Maharshi said fortunate are the one who do not lose themselves in the labyrinths of philosophy. Bhagwan says: Take Vedanta, for instance: it speaks of 15 pranas the names and functions of it which the student is asked to commit memory. Will it not be sufficient if he thought only one prana does the whole work of maintaining the body? Again the antakaran is said to think, to desire, to will, to reason etc. Why all these details? Has anyone seen antakarana, or all these pranas? Do they really exist? They are conceptual divisions invented by teachers of philosophy by their excessive analysis. Where do all these concepts end? (GURU RAMANA .By S.S Cohen -vii Danger of philosophy-Page -58-59)
The above passages further prove that: Self-Knowledge cannot be attained by study of the Vedas and intellectual understanding or by bookish knowledge. Therefore there is no use of studying the Vedas and other scriptures in order to acquire the non-dual wisdom. That is why Buddha rejected the scriptures, and even Sri, Sankara indicated that, the ultimate truth lies beyond religion, concept of god and scriptures.
They alone in this world are endowed with the highest wisdom who are firm in their conviction of the sameness and birthlessness of Ataman. The ordinary man does not understand their way. [Chapter IV — Alatasanti Prakarana 95-P-188 in Upanishads by Nikilanada]
Therefore, there is no use of taking strain to understand assimilate the conceptual divisions invented by teachers of philosophy by their excessive analysis. There are more and more doubts and confusions, if one tries to understand and assimilate the ultimate truth through scriptures.
Why to follow the path of doubts and confusion by losing oneself in the labyrinths of philosophy, when one can realize the ultimate truth without them. By mentally tracing the source of the mind from where it rises and subsides one becomes aware of the fallacy of the mind, which rises as waking or dream and subsides as deep sleep. The mind raises form consciousness and subsides as consciousness. Therefore, there is a need for perfect understanding assimilation of nondual truth.
There is no need to renounce the worldly life to get Self-Realization. Any householder can attain it if has the inner urge.
ASHTAVAKRA SAMHITA: - "The man of knowledge, though living like an ordinary man, is contrary to him and only those like him understand his statE.

        September 26 at 8:24am ·

      • Santthosh Kumaar Sri, Sankara says in Brahma Sutras: that Brahman is the cause of the world, whereas in Mandukya he denies it. This is because he says that at the lower stage of understanding, the former teaching must be given, for people will get frightened as they cannot understand how the world can be without a cause, but to those in a higher stage, the truth of non-causality can be revealed.
Sri, Sankara himself has warned us not to use ambiguous words, and to practice semantic analysis in his book "Definition of one's own Self. [" Page 199, v.24 of "Sankara's Selected Works]
Sri, Sankara founded his Advaita Vedanta either on reason independent of sruti or on sruti confirmed by reason." Sri, Sankara's commentary on the Mandukya Upanishad, II, 1: This [the unreality of duality] is borne out by the Srutis ... But it is possible also to show the unreality of the object world even from pure reasoning, and this second chapter is undertaken for that purpose.

Sri, Sankara himself had often said that his philosophy was based on Sruti, or revealed scripture. This may be because Sri, Sankara addressed the ordinary man, who finds security in the idea of causality and thus in the idea of God—and Revelation is indispensable to prove the latter. He believed that those of superior intelligence, have no need of this idea of divine causality, and can therefore dispense with Sruti and arrive at the truth of Non-Dualism by pure reason.

Nonduality does not need the support of any Scripture or Revelation like the Veda. For it is based, not upon the varying theological fancies, which are as numerous as the sands of the sea, but upon reason, the common heritage of all mankind, irrespective of colour or creed or climE.

      • Santthosh Kumaar Dear Maniji, I respect your views and wisdom. as per my conviction derived from deeper self-search:- 'I' or 'I AM' is the inborn samaskara or conditioning. 'I' or 'I Am is the seed of ignorance. Holding the ‘I’ or ‘I AM’ as self, is the main hindrance in pursuit of truth. 'I' or 'I AM' is mother of all the conditioning. The whole physical existence or mind or universe is based on this Conditioning. By focusing more and more attention on 'I' or 'I AM' the ignorance becomes more and more deep rooted. Deeper self-search reveals the fact that, ‘I’ or ‘I AM’ itself is cause of the ignorance. Thus careful analysis is required to know ‘what truth’ is and ‘what is illusion’. The consciousness fuels up this ‘I’ or I AM. Sages in the past used ‘I’ or I AM as self to reach that stage then after the seeker is on his own.

To get non-dual truth is possible by getting free from the bondage of Ignorance! Seeker has got no one but himself to remove his bondage.

The sickness can be cured by doctors, but no one but one’s own self can get rid of the ignorance caused by illusion.

The seeker who is on right direction, and strives on his own will be able to realize the non-dual truth. The non-dual truth is not possible to realize through yoga and priest-craft.

The true nature of things is to be known personally, through the mental eye of clear illumination, and not through the physical eyes. One has to get rid of the bondage caused by the fetters of Ignorance on his own by clear and perfect understanding.

Through consciousness, man becomes aware of the waking, dream or deep sleep experiences. Consciousness is the all-pervading Self in all the three states. Knowing consciousness as self, the ignorance ceases to exist.

All the three states are directly rooted in the Self, which is consciousness. The ego is individual self and the soul is the universal self. Ego is the false self within the false experience. When through wisdom all this is truly known, the ignorance ceases, for the Gnani identifies with the consciousness, which is the true Self.

Consciousness transcends all illusion. Consciousness is the immortal Self. Only in physical existence one thinks that he is poor, wealthy, powerful individual separate from the world. And he also thinks that the world existed prior to him and he is born in it later on. Until this conviction is there he will not become aware of the fact that, his body and the world are also made of consciousness. Until, he thinks he is born in this world, he is in the shackles of physicality. Until he is in the shackle of physicality he will never accept the truth that the universe is mere illusion. Without realizing the fact that the universe is unreal, it is impossible to understand and assimilate non dual truth.

The individual experiences and circumstance totally beyond individuals control, which appear and disappear spontaneously. It is wrong to think individual is the masters of past, present and future because the time exist only in illusion. All our fear comes from unawareness the fact that self is formless. By turning inward and discovering the fact that the self is beyond form, time and space. By realizing this fact one will pass beyond illusion. Yoga is inseparably bound up with the necessity for physical based practices of regulating the vital force or breath; therefore they are not means to self realization. All theoretical understands are egocentric. Therefore, they are more than dead words on a dead page.

He who has grasped the fact that the consciousness is the true self- will become aware of the fact that, consciousness exists prior to the appearance of the three states. The consciousness is the source of the three states.

The knower of the source is the knower of the truth. Without knowing the source one is in ignorance of the source, which is the consciousness. The source is the true self.

The consciousness rises as “mind” and subsides back as “consciousness”. When one turn within, to the core of his being, there he will not find the ego, but he will find its source, the consciousness, which is second to none the ultimate reality. Consciousness alone is all else is mere mirage created out of consciousness.

This is the true understanding of the self–that in which the two are seen to be one, although their distinction is eternal. The word “born” is misleading, for the Self is never born. There does come a time when it becomes manifest in the illusion, but it existed prior to the illusion. There was never a time when consciousness did not exist, even the illusion of form, time and space it existed as its formless substance and witness.

Consciousness is not only is within the mind but it is without the mind. Consciousness is the power of all powers.

Everything is consciousness. In the final sense there is second thing at all. Yet, at the moment on e find him-self in the seemingly manifold condition that is necessary for his evolution in understanding and ultimate freedom.

By mistaking the self to be physical, on e is mistaking the nature of consciousness as well. Consciousness is “the power of all powers, but thinking the physical body to be the self, one has created unconsciously the physical prison out of consciousness. When one becomes aware of the fact that, the whole physical prison created out of consciousness, the ignorance vanishes the consciousness alone prevails as eternal existence.

When the self is not the form but it is formless, then how can one accept himself to be the servants or slaves of any god men or conceptual God? If one accepts the idea of god or god men to be the god, then he is accepting the self to be physical. By accepting the self as physical he is accepting the illusion as reality. By accepting the illusion as reality one is accepting the illusory birth, life, death and the world as reality.

All the god oriented theories are based on the false physical self. Holding the god as the base of existence becomes a greatest obstacle in pursuit of truth.

The mind which contains the whole universe with it perceiver is apart from the consciousness, which is ever formless. Consciousness is the source in which the mind rises and sets. The waking, dream, and deep sleep states take place within the consciousness. The experience of birth and death likewise take place within the consciousness. The birth, life death and the world are within the mind but the consciousness is without the mind. When consciousness prevails without the mind it is non-dual reality.

Consciousness can never be destroyed, but it resolves back to its formless non-dual true nature. Nothing is beyond or higher than the consciousness. – Mind and the soul [consciousness] are essentially one, as are the ocean and the waves. As long as illusion exists the separation exists. As long as separation exists duality will prevail as reality. So long the ignorance prevail, the birth, life, death and the world will remain as reality. But when one awaken into reality, all the reality of illusion cease forever.

Neither by Yoga, nor by scriptural studies, nor by action, nor by learning, but by the realization of one's identity with consciousness is freedom possible, and by no other means.
Lectures consisting of a shower of ornamental words, the skill in expounding the Scriptures or intellectual theories, and likewise erudition - these merely bring on a little personal enjoyment to the scholar, but are no good for freedom.

The study of the Scriptures is useless so long as the highest Truth is unknown, and it is equally useless when the highest Truth has already been known.

The Scriptures consisting of many words are a dense forest which merely causes the mind to ramble. Hence one should earnestly set about knowing the true nature of the Self.

  • There are many schools of thought in Hinduism based on Vedas. These schools of thoughts are add-ons. Therefore, these add-ons have to be bifurcated from original Vedic Religion, to get the pure Vedic essence.

Sri, Sankara said: The world is unreal and Brahman alone is real. It means the birth, life and death, which happens within the world, also is unreal. If birth, life and death are unreal, then the rebirth and reincarnation and Avataric concept has to be unreal. Thus, it is for the seeker to find out, on what standpoint the world becomes unreal, to know the Brahman, which is ultimate truth.

Causality taught in the Upanishads is only to enable us to understand the supreme truth of no-origination. The world is not different from the self and the self is not different from Atman and Atman is not different from Brahman. That the non-dual absolute appears as the diverse world is only an illusion. If it really became diverse then the immortal would become mortal.

The dualists who seek to prove the origination of the unborn, by that very enterprise try to make the immortal, mortal. Ultimate nature can never change - the immortal can never become mortal and vice versa.

Gaudapada quotes from the Upanishads: "There's no plurality here"; "The Soul through its powers appears to be many"; "those who are attached to creation or production or origination go to utter darkness"; "the unborn is never reborn, for what can produce it?”

  • Ultimate truth is oneness and the ways to ultimate truth is non-dual wisdom. It grants freedom to individuals and does not command it simply tries to lead them from darkness to light. It reveals that there is one Truth.

The truth is one. It is the eternal truth within the Self. Direct knowledge of Self can be acquired by one through the Self while realizing the Self. Self- realization is the essence of human existence. Where there is unity, one without a second; there is world of non-duality.

One has to seek it as it is the supreme goal of life. Orthodox and pundits have “I know” attitude, therefore, they think others know nothing. They pretend to be listening but they think others are in a primitive people who could not possibly have anything to share with them.” This type of outlook is great obstacle in pursuit of truth. The orthodoxy is greatest hindrance in realizing the nondual truth.

This witness position cannot be taken in the midst of work or activity, because work and activity is part of the mirage.

Adopting the neutral, impersonal point of view of the Witness also helps us transcend form, time and space. In fact, memory of the past, knowledge of the present, and projection into the future require the existence of a consciousness which is in itself outside form, time and space. By learning to view and judge the three states on Witness position can transcend sense of form, time and space, which helps to reduces its grip of duality.

To reduce all the three states as mind. The first effect of this practice is a lessening of the impact of individual experience. In the next stage, one has to train himself to ask where the mind dwell. The answer one arrives at is: in the Self, the consciousness! The three states come and go; what remains after they vanish is the consciousness which contains them. It alone is real.
Meditation remains necessary only in preliminary stages, but meditation is not the means to acquire Self-Knowledge. The highest state attainable by yoga is no better than deep sleep. Only path of reason can by itself lead to Realization of ultimate truth.

  • Nothing is real other than consciousness. Noting matters other than realizing the real. The real is hidden within the unreal. The real is within the unreal but it is without the unreal.

The real cannot be argued about, it cannot be theorized, nor can it be discussed and understood. It can only be lived. Consciously Stilled mind is consciousness.
When we talk to the religious minded people we should praise, uphold and encourage their belief in religion, but not when we are talking to those who seek truth, because only one person in thousands belongs to the latter group. Until one is ready we should talk the subject what inspires and suits them; but as doubts come to them, instruct we have to them further according to their mental capacity.

Non dual truth is intended only for the few who can understand it. Nevertheless as the common people cannot grasp it, since, they are conditioned to believe yoga or orthodox religion as means of Self-Realization. Only when they seek advice we have to inform them that the yoga and religion are not the highest and there is a higher path to the truth, and not to stop forever in the lower stage which is yoga and religion.

In our everyday life man uses his sense his senses to know about everything around him. Most of his physical knowledge is acquired through the sense of seeing i.e. through physical eyes. The reaming part is through the other sense.
The modern science has understood well the limitation of the human senses hence the scientists have developed and are still developing many instruments which are far more capable then the human senses. However there is a side of nature, which is not perceptible to sensory to sensory organs or any scientific instrument. This is the hidden side of the nature. Many references can be found to this hidden side of the nature in almost every religious scripture.

This hidden side of the nature is the soul/Atman which is the true self. Many seers from ancient time have been mentioning that, the knowledge of this true self [truth] set the man free from experiencing the duality as reality. Thus it is necessary to know the knowledge of the true self in order to realize the fact that the entire sensory instrument and the experience are dependent on the soul for their existence. Thus the non-dual truth can be unfolded only when one learns to view and judge the worldview on the base of the soul which is the formless substance and witness of the three states.

The seeker who learns to view and judge the worldview on the base of the soul as self will be able to grasp and realize the non-dual truth. If every human being is able to view and judge the worldview on the base of the soul as self it will certainly revolutionize the life on the earth and free man kind from the wars and terror activities which is going on in the name of god and religion. Therefore, there is need to know the truth of our true existence, to know what is truth and what is untruth, in order to judge himself of what is right and what is wrong.

Man’s understanding is through organs confined to phenomenal world. The physical body and the world are created out of the soul. Thus all the diversity in experience is within the mind which appears and disappears as waking/dream. When the mind remains in its formless non dual true nature it is called soul and we ignorantly identify it as deep sleep state on the base of the ego/physical self.
Never talk of non-duality to anyone unless he seeks and wants it, or unless he is bothered with doubts. If one does, he will be looked on as a madman or fool and do no good at all.

Men are divided into three classes of intelligence. Those with lowest are follow religion, those in the intermediate practice yoga, those in the highest are seek truth. Religion and yoga are not bad; but they are not means to acquire non dual wisdom.

For common people religion and yoga it is enough." This is the highest they can practice. But the non-dual truth is for the few who could grasp it.

One must realize and note the different distinctions among men. There are religionists who practice rituals/ rites, the Pundits who interpret scriptures, and mysticisms, and yogis who practice meditations/Samadhi, lastly seekers of truth inquire and reason on the true base to acquire the highest truth.

There are different grades of intelligence among people as they rise in the scale. Different mind-sets attracted to different past and practice. People are divided into three grades of intelligence, high, middling and low. Religion is prescribed for the lowest; they are there and not to be condemned, but people with wisdom must respect because they are like children, not knowing better.

The man of truth is the one who can think for himself, he has the right to think; whereas the lowest regards questioning as blasphemous and dangerous to religion.

The non-dual truth can’t be grasped people, because they cannot understand it, even though they are intellectuals, and they will only misunderstand it because of their grooming. They cannot rise higher because they are trying to assimilate with their misinterpretation, but they have the conceit that they know better because they have well read. To study non duality is impossible if one is unready. It cannot be studied like other subject because it is knowledge of the beyond has to be grasped mentally.

  • As long as there is ‘I’ or mind there is duality. But the ‘I’ or mind won’t go away. Until one investigates what is ‘I’ or mind and realize what it is and what it is not, it is impossible to unfold the mystery of the mind/duality.

The duality exits only in waking or dream and there is non-duality in deep sleep. The three states will not cease whether one realizes the truth but one becomes conscious of the fact that, the duality mere illusion and non-duality is reality. All the three states are one in essence. The essence is consciousness. By becoming aware of the fact that, the consciousness is everything the duality ceases.

The men and world which is part and parcel of the waking or dream is not created by man do not belong to him and conversely he do not belong to them either, because everything belongs to the soul/self, since all the three states are erupted from the soul, which is in the form of consciousness and they consciousness itself. Thus the form, time and space are mere illusory division within the consciousness.

All divisions are mere illusory. Freedom is realizing the fact that that the substantive of all is the consciousness is the true self. The unreal nature of the mind, which appears as waking or dream disappears as deep sleep can be understood and assimilated only when one realizes the fact that, the consciousness is the true self.

People are in different levels of understanding. For those who are able to grasp highest reality. Have to encourage the less evolved by saying they will grasp it in due course as their understanding matures, until then they have to constantly reflect on F.P Blogs repetitively.''

A child cannot appear for the university examination without passing required school and college education. Similarly a novice first has to be aware of the fact that, what he is seeking. He must study carefully F.P Blogs until their understanding is right enough and he has become receptive and able to grasp the non-dual truth.

Pursuit of truth is only for those people are mentally suited for it, and serious seekers have to make sure of the fact that, religion or yoga is not the means to acquire non dual wisdom.

If a person wants merely to get on in life, then religion is good for him; if he wants peace then yoga is good for him; if he wants non dual truth then he is fit for pursuit of truth.

Seeker of truth should not argue with the critics because they will only injure them through hatred. They must remain in silent mode in the company of such mind-sets.
It is not possible change the attitude of people suddenly; it is very difficult mystically inclined people to accept anything else then their accepted truth.

The novice has to be made to read F.P Blogs. They will be able to grasp it depending on the stages of their maturity. If they lack to grasp the truth, and not receptive to Self-Knowledge, then nothing, can be done for them, as they are unfit to indulge in pursuit of truth.

  • One must ascend to Truth by stages, through which the physical mind must pass. To stop at the stage of meditation and yoga is to end in mysticism, not in truth. It is often useless to reveal truth to religious mystics. Often they will not listen, but often because they cannot understand. Only the ripening of the understanding will fit them to appreciate the final viewpoint which is that unless one studies and interprets the whole one cannot enter into the fullness of truth.
One has to progress beyond religion and beyond science; by using reason then only achieves non-dual wisdom.

  • Millions of people still in a primitive stage of mentality, they talk of a soul leaving the body at death, when a civilized man knows that nobody has ever seen this soul.

All the three states have to be resolutely weighed, and accurately, observed in pursuit of truth. One must inquire:-

    What is this world?

    What is “I”?

Hence inquiry, analysis and reasoning are a necessary foundation. Hence too, the Yogi who looks only inside and ignores the world throws away part of the materials needed to find truth.

Without knowing the nature of the world, it is impossible to know truth. What is the use of trying to find one’s inner self before he understands the world, which confronts him also is consciousness.

If one does not make his induction from facts from the world before him, the mental world, he is only drawing on his imaginations. Then he speculates “The Atman is like this, or like that." but it will be only his mental construction.

First one must inquire into the nature of the body i.e. matter. Second he must inquire into the nature of the mind, which is in the form of the universe.
One has to realize by looking at everything in nature because in everything there is consciousness. One should not avoid them, he should not shut his eyes to Nature; he should not shut himself away from the world which is as much consciousness, as anything else.

But those who are ignorant tell one to be non-observant and to withdraw: keen powers of observation are desirable and will help, not hinder one’s pursuit of truth. One has to take experiences as they come to him and he should not run away from the world in ascetic fear or shyness of them.

To say they are illusion without first examining them and inquiring into them thoroughly is to delude oneself. This world is common to everyone; therefore one must begin his inquiry with it and not avoid. It is only after he has inquired into the nature of the objective universe, that he should inquire into who is the knower. If, however he inquiries into the knower before the inquiry into the universe, then it is mere mysticism. “What is this universe?” must precede “What is’ I”?” in pursuit of truth.

In the witness state the consciousness is aware of both conscious and unconscious. But in waking or dream it is unconscious of its true nature and conscious of the individuality which perceives the world. In deep sleep it is without the individuality and the world. There is no burden and bondage in deep sleep. There is gravity in deep sleep. It is unconsciously complete un- connectedness to the world. Becoming consciously un-connectedness to the world in the midst of waking experience is the witness state. To achieve this one has to drop all accumulate dross based on the ego as self.

This witness states is the state of Brahman/Buddha/Christ which is free from all the burden and bondage of the world or illusion. It is free from the illusory birth, life, death and the world. It is free from the illusory pain and pleasure. It is free from illusory duality because a Gnani is fully aware all the three states are one in essence in the midst of experience of diversity. the non duality is not an individual experience because formless self is not an individual and it is prior to any experience and it is the cause of any experience and it itself is uncaused.
