The duality [waking or dream] will not prevail as reality, when the existence of Formless Witness is known.

The Formless Witness(soul)  and witnessed  (three states ) analysis helps to discriminate real from the unreal.

In effect, it reveals the real nature of the perceiver as infinite soul or consciousness or spirit – Existence. This analysis helps the seekers to discriminate and separate the observer (FW) from the observed objects (Seen or waking or dream). Seeker has to consider the whole waking or dream experience as “witnessed,” and True Self as Formless Witness. Then discriminate the Formless witness as self and waking or dream as non-self.

The self – the Atman  or soul or consciousness  – is by its own nature pure and perfect, but on account of intrinsic grip  of  illusion, the self is deluded and is identified with the world of names and forms(waking or dream) which are themselves illusory.

The seeker becomes aware of the fact that the ‘I’ is not the seer, but ‘I’ is seen, which is present as mind or waking or dream.  The ‘ Formless witness  (FW) of the waking or dream or ’I’ is formless and non-dual.  And as seeker proceeds further with the analysis, he becomes aware of the fact that how seeking mind attains its natural state and knows its non-dual real nature, in the highest realization, transcending the realm of duality.

The true self is soul or consciousness. True Self  or consciousness  is the observer, and the true witness without being identified with the waking or dream identities.

This analysis is a valuable will surely awaken inquiry and discrimination in the mind of seekers. The Formless Witness and witnessed  (waking or dream) analysis is an excellent compendium for seekers of truth. Formless Witness and witnessed  (waking or dream) is a rational and discriminative method by which one separates the observer (Formless Witness) from the object (witnessed or waking or dream), the Self from the non-Self. It is the art of distinguishing the real from the unreal; the parade of fleeting appearances from the substratum, the Atman or consciousness. It is a process of distinction between the subject and the object, and recognition of the fact that the spectacle is subject to continual changes and is a mirage of names and forms emerging from the homogeneous and indivisible substratum.

Beyond waking or dream, the substratum that is pure existence true Self prevails eternally. There is no separate existence of an object, except in the duality. The duality (waking or dream) will not prevail as reality, when the existence of  Formless Witness is known.
