The consciousness, the innermost Self manifests as the knower, knowledge and the known

People who talk all about the world and beyond, but each one's way of life differs from that of the others because the dispositions of our outlook  differ. Some of them are always in yogic Samadhi, some engaged in philosophical discussions, some sunk in devotion, some have taken to work, and others seem immersed in materialistic life. But none of these  take one to the non-dual destination he is seeking for. They cannot decide them selves because each thinks that his way is the surest and the best.'

No one knows which is the method. Reason is the only tool  for direct realization. seeker has to know the fact that ‘I’ is not the  self, but self is formless consciousness . by  Focusing his   attention on the formless  soul or  consciousness , which is the formless substance and witness of the three states, then only  - he will  be able to understand even the subtlest of truths by its grace.'

By focusing attention on the soul , the transcendental Consciousness pervading the three states (waking, dream and sleep) get invoked, and it manifest in its glory as the inner voice in the expanse of true self.

True Self pervades the three states of life. consciousness the innermost self  is the knower of the three states. And the consciousness   is the Supreme self transcending all!

"There was no time when consciousness  is not, because consciousness  is unborn! Consciousness is ever fresh and hence consciousness  never grows old. Consciousness  is in everywhere; the essence of everything, the knower of everything.

If consciousness  is in its formless non-dual true nature then it prevails as non-dual existence the ultimate reality.

Seeker has to realize the fact, over and over again; consciousness  is everywhere, before and behind, above and below, on all sides and everywhere in the waking and dream as their formless substance and witness. There is no second thing other then consciousness  in the experience of diversity. Knowing everything is true self in the midst of diversity leads him towards unity from diversity.

The seeker has to know: What is the proper and perfect means for attaining self-knowledge, the nature and the result of such attainment? What is the utmost finality of accomplishment, beyond which there remains nothing to be accomplished?

Only through deeper thinking through inquiry, analysis and reasoning seeker can proceed in right direction. And he has to have the courage to reject the accumulated knowledge and accept the un- contradictable truth. Since man has been conditioned to accept only whatever he has inherited from his parents and religion and society and circumstance, he tries to get the truth which suits his mind set. Pursuit of truth is not for such mindsets.

True self is the consciousness where from the waking or dream originates, whereon it flourishes, and wherein it resolves, like the images in a mirror. The ignorant know it as the gross universe, whereas the Gnani feels  consciousness as the formless substance and witness of the three states. This realization is possible only in the deep tranquility, similar to that of the deep sea free from waves.

The most earnest seeker knows consciousness spontaneously, and with the greatest sincerity which is due to their focus of attention on True Self 24/7. Although they know that consciousness  is their own non-dual Self, yet the habit of their conditioning which is deep-rooted in them makes them conceive their own Self as ‘I’.

Consciousness pervading waking/dream without which nothing can exist, such is transcendental State of consciousness the innermost self.

Consciousness is always in undivided union and abiding as the eternal consciousness pervading the three phenomenal states of waking, dream and sleep.  However, people do not know True Self as true self because their intellect is shrouded in ignorance.

There is no one besides consciousness  worthy of worship. All the three states are manifestation of consciousness , because consciousness  is  pure intelligence which cannot under any circumstances be transcended. Consciousness  is indivisible and interminable.

Being non-dual and abstract intelligence Consciousness  spontaneously manifest even as the smallest detail in the universe and as the universe.

"Though consciousness  manifest in diverse ways, it still remain unblemished because absoluteness is its nature. This is consciousness's  chief power, which is somewhat hard fully to understand. Though consciousness  is the abode of all and immanent in all it remain pure.

"Although consciousness is not involved in any manner and is always free, it wields by mirage; covered with ignorance, appear full of desires, seek their fulfillment, grow restless, project favorable and unfavorable environments, is born and dies as individuals.

Until it seeks truth, and tries to acquire it, put it in practice and finally become absolved. All this goes on in consciousness pure, uncontaminated, ever free absolute intelligence. This manifestation of the ignorant and the free, and of others, is called consciousness creation which is however, without any accessories – True consciousness power is too vast to be described. It is that the waking or dream is only the obverse of the many details in them leading up to different results.

"Knowledge relating to conciousness is complex but it can be dealt with under the two categories; dual and non-dual, of which the former relates to rituals and the latter to realization. On account of their intricacies, there are many details in them leading up to different results.

Knowledge based on duality is manifold, because it depends on the concept of duality and manifests as worship, prayer, incantation, meditation, etc. all of which are due to nothing more than mental imagery.

The ultimate goal of all is certainly non-dual realization. Mental imagery cannot put forth tangible results either directly or in successive stages. Self-knowledge directly removes ignorance and it will help the seeker to become a full blown Gnani.

Worship of consciousness, the innermost self in a concrete form is not useful but an obstacle for non-dual realization.

"Non-dual realization is absolutely void of objective knowledge. Such realization nullifies all objective knowledge revealing it in all its nakedness to be as harmless as a picture of a pouncing wild animal.

When the mind has completely resolved into the Self, then that state is called non-dual natural state. When the wisdom dawns then one becomes fully aware of the fact that the formless consciousness  is the true self, not ‘ego ’, which is the false self, and he will be able to view and judge the worldview [waking or dream] on the base of formless consciousness  as self.  That is self- Knowledge.

The advanced seeker is aware that his focus of attention is shifted from objectivity towards subjectivity and feels his proximity to the state of non duality. When he actually sinks within the Self, there is no knowledge apart from the non-dual Self- Awareness . This is witnessing state.

Waking up, he sees the world just as any other man does but his outlook has become different. He is now able to know his pure Self and no longer confounds himself with the ego.  And he is fully aware of the fact that, the whole experience of diversity as consciousness , because the formless substance and witness of the whole experience of diversity is consciousness.  Thus there is no second thing exist other then consciousness. That is the acme of Realization.

Intellectual and theoretical knowledge consists in differentiating between the Self and the non-Self through a study of the Scriptures, or the teachings of a guru or sage, or by one's own deliberation.

Non-dual wisdom is that which puts an end to the sense of non-Self once for all. Non-dual realization admits nothing unknown or unknowable and pervades everything in entirety so that it cannot in any way be transcended, (e.g., a mirror and the images).

When that is accomplished, the intellect becomes quite clear because all doubts have been destroyed; doubts and confusion are part and parcel of duality[waking/dream] are destroyed though any remnants of these that may remain are as harmless as a fangless viper.

There is an end of misery in sleep; but the potentiality of misery is not ended. Realization of the true self destroys the cause of misery and sets the one free for ever.

Burden implies the existence of something apart from oneself, thus it is part of the duality. The duality persists after non-dual Realization but not as reality, there is no ignorance after realization of the self.

There will be no burden of duality in the absence of ignorance. On the other hand, the burden and bondage will not cease so long as duality experienced as reality. Therefore when one become fully aware of the fact that duality is unreal the burden also becomes part of that unreality.

What is perceived as waking or dream apart from the Self is also clearly seen to be perishable. What is perishable must certainly involve fear of loss. Union implies separation; so also acquisition implies loss.

If emancipation be external to the True Self [ soul or consciousness ], it implies fear of loss, and is therefore not worth aspiring to. On the other hand, freedom is fearlessness and not external to the Self.

"When the knower, knowledge and the known merge into unity then  that state is totally free from burden and bondage of duality  and hence freedom results. Non-dual Wisdom is the state devoid of duality, and is unimpeded by ignorance.

It is certainly the primal state of the knower, but remains unrecognized for want of acquaintance with it. The F.S guidance alone can make the individual acquainted with the true Self.

The Self is True Self free from duality. The knower, knowledge and the known are not real as different entities. When differentiation among them is destroyed, their true nature is evident in the resulting non-dual awareness, which is also the state of emancipation.

There is in fact no differentiation among the knower, etc. The differences are simply conventions retained for the smooth working of metrelistc life. Emancipation is eternal and, therefore, here and now, it is nothing to be acquired in the next life and next world.

The consciousness, the innermost  Self  manifests as the knower, knowledge and the known; the cycle of births and deaths endures with all the apparent reality of the world as long as waking or dream lasts. As soon as the manifestation is realized to consist of the formless  Self alone without any admixture of non-self, the waking or dream [cycle of births and deaths] comes to a standstill, and is melted down to water like snow melts by the summer sun.

Thus earnestness is the only requisite for emancipation. No other requisite is needed if the longing for emancipation is intense and unwavering. There is the use of efforts in the absence of a real and unswerving desire for emancipation that is the sole requisite and nothing else.

Intense urge signifies mental abstraction as the seeker loses himself in the desired goal. Unwavering zeal must certainly succeed and success is only a question of time - which may be days, months, years, according to the seekers receptivity and sharpness to grasp.

The intellect is based on the ‘ego’, which is the false self and so the truth cannot be unfolded. Consequently, the people are caught up in believing the imaginary theories based on the false self as reality.

There are many obstacles in pursuit of truth. The seeker has to overcome each of them, by proper understanding.   Seeker of truth must accept only uncontradictable truth.

People believe that only through a guru and his grace will help them to acquire the self-knowledge, and   faith in the revelations made by the Guru and in the scriptures.  In pursuit of truth there is no need for Guru because it is path of verification, whatever is not truth has to be rejected. Thus whatever guru preaches or teaches cannot be accepted blindly without verification. In pursuit of truth, there is no need for guru, the self itself is guru.

Some time seekers Inability to understand the revealed truth creates doubts and confusion, but constant pondering by deeper thinking all the doubts and confusion get cleared automatically.

Seeker must not take the authorship of the inner revelation as his own but always say the inner revelation revealed as such, to get the grace of the Self.

Without proper conviction the doubts and confusion bound to arise." Doubts regarding the truth of the revelation and by failure to understand and assimilate them. The doubt arises whether there is freedom; and later misunderstanding leads to its denial. These two are sure obstacles to any sincere efforts being made for realization.

Non-dual wisdom refers to a direct realization which is non-dualistic, and contradicts the way in which we ordinarily perceive the world. The experience of ultimate truth is beyond duality.

It is important to remember that emptiness here does not refer to nothingness but to the True Self /sprit which is the true self.

Emptiness refers to the fact that the truth is empty of untruth [ duality]. Describing this non-dual experience in words is not really possible, as language is based on duality and contrasts. Trying to explain this experience - which contradicts our normal perception - is a bit like explaining colours to someone who is born blind; difficult to say the least. But the serious seeker can grasp it mentally.

All obstacles are due to identifying ‘I’ as true self; the deeper inquiry and reasoning reveals the fact that neither the physical body nor the ‘I’ is the true self. Therefore, it is necessary for seeker to investigate and verify the facts about the ‘I’ and he has to realize that, the ‘I’ is not the self, but ‘I’ is whole waking/dream experience.  Inquiry and reasoning, further revels the fact that the formless substance and witness of the waking/dream/’I’, is the true self. Thus, it proves that the self is ‘I’-less, that means, the self is formless. Thus, F.S provides all the guidance to the serious truth seeker. Thus, the onus is on the seeker to investigate and realize through deeper thinking, to get the firm conviction, in this regard. Without getting the firm conviction, it is very difficult to proceed, in the pursuit of truth.

Once one becomes aware of the fact that , the consciousness the innermost self   and his conviction becomes firmer in this regard then it will destroy both uncertainty and misunderstanding.

To much of accumulation of physical base knowledge of the scriptures, theories, intellectual, yogic prevents the seeker from following the right pursuit. For, the mind engrossed in too much knowledge, cannot engage in a spiritual pursuit.

Inner urge must therefore be first overcome before aspiring for spiritual attainment. Understanding and assimilation of truth are not possible when dullness prevails.

There is no remedy for it other than thinking or meditating on the consciousness,  the innermost  Self.  Mediating trough thinking of consciousness the innermost self  alone removes the seekers’ dullness according to his advancement, quickly, or gradually.

The seeking mind which unreservedly surrenders itself to formless consciousness  is endowed with all the requisites necessary for truth pursuit. The seeking mind which gets the firm conviction that Atman is the true self easily overcomes all obstacles in pursuit of truth. On the other hand, one, who being stuck up with religion and yoga his success, is very doubtful.

The chief requisite is constant attention on True Self mentally. The one devoted to abstract consciousness excels every other seeker. Consummation lies in the discernment of the Self as distinguished from the non-Self.

The seeker must realize the True Self is not confounded only with the body but it pervades the all the three states as its formless substance and witness.  Limiting consciousness  only to the physical body leads to all the doubts and confusion. Such confusion must cease otherwise the wisdom remains a distant dream.

The True Self is the formless experience of the waking or dream. Thus the waking or dream are mere experiences. That is the man and the world is mere experiences.  The experiences [waking or dream] cease to exist without the formless experincer [True Self]. But the formless experincer [consciousness ] can exist with or without the experience [waking/dream].

The Self is cannot be experienced by individual, because the individual is within the waking/dream. The waking/dream are mere experiences. Thus, it is necessary to realize the fact that, the world and the individual exist with the false experience [waking/dream].  Therefore, the individual and the world are part of the illusion.

The individual and the world are reality within the illusion. Therefore, it is necessary to realize the fact that ‘I’ is illusion.  The one that has this illusion is the formless and nondual in nature, which is formless consciousness. Thus, the consciousness cannot be experienced, it has to be grasped and realized mentally.

Experiencing the duality as reality is the cause of endless suffering. The consciousness  is hidden in the waking or dream as their formless substance and witness; limiting the mind to the physical entity is cause of the ignorance. When this ignorance ceases, and the ‘self is ascertained to be the consciousness  alone; and that sets all doubts at rest. Nothing else has to be ascertained by the seeker other then realizing the consciousness  as true self to reach the finality.

Miracles and supernatural powers are also hindrance in pursuit of truth. Of what use are they? They are but simple acrobatic tricks. All miracles and supernatural powers can be used only in the illusion.  Thus, whatever seen, known, experienced and believed as real within the illusion is bound to be part of the illusion. Therefore, there is no use of these powers, in pursuit of truth.

There is no accomplishment equal to Self-knowledge which is alone capable of ending all misery because it is the state of eternal Bliss. Self-knowledge differs from all accomplishments in that the fear of death is destroyed once for all.

Realization differs according to the antecedent practice and, commensurate with the degree of spiritual maturity of mind, may be perfect, middling or dull.

He, who, though engaged in worldly life, does not look upon anything as non-self,  that is in the midst of worldly life, he is fully aware of the fact that, his body and the world are created out of  formless consciousness , thus everything is consciousness  and nothing exists other then consciousness  is a perfect Gnani.

He who even while doing his work remains as in a sleep is a perfect Gnani. Thus the best among the Gnani‘s are never out of natural state, be they working or idle.

He, who is from his own experience capable of appreciating the states of other Gnanis including the best among them, is certainly a perfect sage. He, who is not influenced by happiness or misery, by pleasure or pain, by desires, doubts or fear, is a perfect sage.

He, who realizes pleasure, pain and every other phenomenon to be in and of the Self, is a perfect sage. He who feels himself pervading all - be they ignorant or emancipated - is a perfect sage. He who knowing the trammels of bondage, does not seek release from them and remains in peace, is a perfect sage.

The perfect among the Gnani is identical with consciousness . There is absolutely no difference between them.

Reason based on the soul is the raft to save one from sinking in the ocean of duality (cycle of birth, life and deaths), and so it must be read or repeated every day with love and care."
