When one is unable to quench his
spiritual thirst from his guru or teaching he has to look elsewhere to clear
the cobwebs of his understanding and to move forward in his spiritual quest.
It is difficult for tradition-bound people to accept anything as truth
other than what they inherited from then parental grooming. Only intense urge
to know the truth and courage to accept the truth after verification with
better understanding one will be able to drop all his accumulated dross, which is
the main obstacle in self-realization.
A person who is not able to grasp the non-dual truth should constantly reflect on the formless substance witness of
the three states, without distraction.
A person who has realized the fact
that the Self is neither the waking entity nor self is dream entity but the
formless substance and witness of the three states.
There is no need to renounce the worldly
duties in order to acquire self-knowledge because it is inner (mental) journey
one can continue with his pursuit whenever he finds spare time. His practical life within the practical
world does not conflict with his knowledge. The knowledge that the universe is
not real but only illusion and
that the Self is pure Consciousness is not opposed to activities of practical
life within the practical world. In
order to perform worldly activities within the practical world it is not
necessary to believe that the world is real. Only the right means are
necessary. These means are the mind, speech, body and external objects. They do
not disappear on the attainment of enlightenment but only their unreal nature
is exposed. The same way the unreal nature of the dream is exposed when waking
takes place, the unreal nature of waking
reality is exposed when wisdom dawns.
The injunctions and prohibitions of
the orthodoxy have no application to those who are in path of wisdom or Gnana.
They apply only to those who look upon themselves as belonging to a certain
caste or station or stage of life.
The religion, caste and creed are creations
of man to live in certain way of life within the society in certain order as
prescribed in scriptural doctrine.
Religions pertain only to the individual within the practical world, and
not to the Self which is formless Consciousness, which pervades all the three
states as their formless substance and witness.
Thus how can one judge what is truth pass judgment or opinion when the self,
which not an individual but formless non-dual existence.
A Gnani is completely free from all
human attributes by realizing the fact that, the self not human has anything to
gain from action or inaction, meditation or japa, or rituals and yoga.
A person who meditates continuously
attains identity with the object of meditation, but this identity ceases if the
practice of meditation is given up. But the realization of the Self, once
attained through knowledge, is never lost. Every living being including the
universe is in reality consciousness, but is ignorant of this fact. Self - Knowledge
only reveals this truth.
Because of ignorance, which conceals
their real nature, people do not realize the purpose of life. The sages in past thought just as begging is better than
starving, it is better to practice devotion and meditation rather than other
pursuits who are incapable of grasping and realizing the ultimate truth thus
they prescribed Bhakti and yoga.
Sages in the past might have
prescribed Performance of the rituals laid down in the scriptures is superior
to being engrossed in practical life within the practical world.
The serious seekers of truth have to take path
of reason and discrimination. By becoming aware of the non-dual (attributeless)
consciousness, which is the
true self, leads one to direct realization.
Conviction becomes firmer on the
non-dual (attributeless) consciousness
matures into Self-Awareness.
Self –awareness brings unity in
diversity in the midst of diversity (waking).
In self-awareness there is still the
distinction of body, ego and experience of the world because there is no
division in consciousness because everything is consciousness because one is
aware they are mere mirage created out of consciousness.
When one is able to discriminate
between the dual (waking or dream) and non-dual (deep sleep) experiences, leads
to self-awareness and illusory duality never remains as
reality. There is then a perfect
realization of ultimate truth or Brahman as immutable, association -less,
eternal, Self-luminous, without a second and infinite.
Inquiry into the nature of the Self by
deeper self-search and then reflecting on them is the direct means to
Self-realization.
Direct realization of ultimate truth of Brahman will not come by hearing the sermons
of the gurus or scholars. Intellectual understand of the non-dual truth though
essential, is not sufficient. Seeker must constantly reflect mentally on the
nature of the self, which is in the form consciousness.
Faith in belief system obstructs the
rise of direct knowledge. Accumulated knowledge is what obstructs the rise of
self - knowledge.
Deeper-self-search should be continued until
realization. If one does not get realization he will get it as his
understanding matures and when all obstacles have been eliminated.
If even over a long period
realization does not arise, it is due to various impediments. Realization will
dawn when the impediments are removed.
The veil of ignorance, which is in
the form of form, time and space, will vanish when the wisdom dawns. Thus the division within the consciousness
also no longer remains as reality. Thus,
the illusory reality loses its lustre of reality in self –awareness. One knows his body, ego and his experience of
the world as mere mirage created out of consciousness. Thus consciousness alone is reality the forms
and names and things are mere illusion.
Who sees the universe as reality may
try to deny it. What has the experience
of birth, life and death to do? In self-awareness one who sees his body, ego
and universe but he is fully aware of the fact that they too are nothing but
consciousness.
If one think he is born in this world
grew up and got married and have children
and grandchildren and he is 90 years of age in a dream and when he wakes
up the dream becomes unreal. The sense of form, time and space of the dream
were reality within the dream. Similarly the sense of form, time and space will
prevail as reality until the waking entity , which is in pursuit of truth
becomes aware of the fact , it is not the self but the formless knower or
witness of the three states which comes and goes is the true self.
If one dreams he was poor farmer he
did not know that one of his ancestors had buried a large quantity of gold
under the ground in his field lives, when someone who knows the secret informs
him about the treasure, he collects it and lives happily but when waking takes
place the dream reality is never again becomes reality. Similarly when wisdom dawns the waking reality
never again prevail as reality to a Gnani, even though they exist.
A yogi cannot attain realization because he
thinks his body to be body and world to be world and fails to see them as
consciousness and thinks his experience of Samadhi is because of his individual
effort. The individual experience is limited to waking experience is mere
illusion. Thus even his Samadhi is also limited to the waking experience, which
is mere illusion. He thinks the thoughtlessness is Samadhi but thoughts are of
the individuality. Thoughts disappear even in deep sleep. Therefore deep sleep
is not wisdom. If one thinks thoughtlessness is Samadhi and Samadhi is Brahman
then any one get knowledge of Brahman by taking sleeping pills or hemp.
Some of the impediments are: intense attachment to particle life within the particle world taking them as reality; lack of subtlety of the intellect, indulging in perverse arguments based on their accumulated second-hand unverified knowledge and scriptural mastery which makes them more and more egoic and orthodox attitude and belief in personal god ,karma theory, rebirth, heaven, hell and sin.
People are making unlimited sacrifices and enduring unlimited suffering
in the name of protecting their religion and god. They are therefore ignorant
about the truth and incapable of understanding the ultimate truth, which is
universal god. All organized religions have unequivocally claimed man for the
life in the truth; thus it is sheer folly to fight in the name of religion and
god.
It is time that humanity had a fresh vision of truth that the mind,
which is in the form of universe, is myth and consciousness is the only thing
that is real and that matters. On the
base of consciousness as self, the physical life is a vain and empty pursuit of
illusory values.
Parental grooming is the main cause of religious influence upon the mass
mind-set and it cannot be wiped out without knowing the truth of one’s own
existence. Thus, teaching children to view and judge everything on religious
point of view by their parents, which warps the minds and destroys the capacity
to think beyond the belief system of their grooming.
People who are yearning for spiritual truth will not find it what they
are seeking for. Religious truth is individual truth and it is not universal
truth because the religion is based on individuality.
As one goes in deeper investigation find nothing satisfying in any
religion. The more he learns of any
religious doctrine they become aware of the fact that, the religion is not the
means for self-realization because the true ‘Self” is not the form but the true
self is formless. The religion is based
on the false self (waking entity or ego) and false experience (waking). Religion takes the
false self as real self and false experience as reality. Thus whatever is based
on the false self and false experience is bound to be falsehood.
The obsession with "our sins" having been "washed away by
water of river would be regarded as
evidence of a serious mental illness in an individual within any sane society,
but when this is an obsession of millions of people it becomes "religious
faith", held by many others to be something that should never be
criticized.
It was desperately important for the believers of their belief system
for some reason that others shared their beliefs because they assume that their
religious doctrine is literally true, and then justify their beliefs because "God
says so in their doctrine ".
It is no use of arguing with someone who has faith in his belief system
because for him there can be no possible refutation of what he believes, so
rational argument is entirely useless. He clings to his belief so strongly that
he makes no distinction between the truth and his belief. One has to know the
fact that god cannot exist without his existence. The truth does not depend on
gods’ existence but it entirely depends on man’s existence. Thus it is foolish to venture in knowing the
truth of gods existence without verifying the facts about his own
existence.
Deeper self-search revel the fact that, the self is neither the body, nor the ego. If the self is not the body nor the ego then
it proves the fact that, whatever is seen, known, believed and
experienced on the base of the self as
body or ego is bound to be false hood.
Thus arguing on the standpoint of the body or ego, which is not the “self”,
is erroneous. Thus the whole argument
has to be based on the true self, which is not the body or ego. Thus it is necessary to realize the fact
that, the “self” is not the form but the “self” is formless in order to realize
the Advaitic truth.
