The accumulation of physical based knowledge is not of any use
Until one identify with the 'I' as self, the spiritual thirst will remain and he keeps searching. The moment he become fully aware of the fact that Ataman is the true self, he realize the fact that he is already at the peak and he simply took a roundabout way to reach it. The direct path was hidden by accumulated egocentric [physical based] knowledge.
The accumulation of knowledge based on the false self is of no use in pursuit of truth. The accumulation will fall on its own, when the conviction that Ataman is the true self matures enough.
