Truth cannot be got in external world. The truth is hidden within the three states as their formless substance and witness. Running away from worldly life to Himalayas to acquire non dual truth is a foolish venture. The true self is not an entity or identity within the waking experience but it is the source of the three states from where the three states erupt and subsides.
All the confusion and doubts arise because one doesn’t know what is seeking. He thinks “I” is self and he is trying to acquire self-knowledge on the base of ‘I’ which is false self. He thinks truth is some thing accomplished from the external experiences. So instead of verifying it through deeper inquiry, analysis and reasoning tries one tries to regulate his human attributes and tries to acquire the self-knowledge. But the action and deeds are not the means to acquire non dual wisdom. Truth is not something to be sought. It is something that has to be realized.
People start their spiritual practices for accomplishing their needs in the worldly life as they think fulfilling such needs will give them peace of mind. But gradually they come to know that actual spiritual practices are for realizing the fact that birth, life and death are mere mirage on the standpoint the true self which is the soul.
Yoga and meditation is beginning of one’s spiritual journey. The real journey begins inwardly when you find all the outer journeys are inadequate and useless in quenching one’s spiritual thirst. The real renunciation is renouncing the ignorance. Ignorance is the cause of experiencing illusory duality as reality. Yoga and meditation and god and guru glorification are not the means to acquire non dual wisdom. Without wisdom freedom from duality is impossible.
A real spiritual retreat is where there is no compulsion of any sort: no set programme to be followed, no meetings of saints, no god glorification and prayers or worship so that the seeker is spared from the unnecessary strain which is of any use in the pursuit of truth.
In pursuit of truth there is no need to frame rules and regulation and code of conduct to control the mind of the seeker, because these rules and regulations and code of conducts are useful only in worldly life, not in the pursuit of truth. The seeker can attain the highest wisdom without common enforced discipline and discover the self evident truth, through inquiry and reason and analysis on the base of the soul/self. The realization surges up by a free impulse when the seeking mind becomes receptive enough to accept the truth.
While it is true that not all the seekers are ripe enough thus need for constant reflection on the true self ,which is Ataman /soul ,through inquiry and reasoning on the base of soul as self until the mind is capable and receptive to receive the knowledge of true self, which is the soul.
The religious theory that : This seemingly boundless universe stretching far beyond human imagination and consisting billions of stars, planet, solar systems and galaxies has not come to existence all by itself. It has to have a creator, and that creator is god.
Every nook and corner of this entire universe is governed by identical laws of nature. Hence there is no many gods but only one god. This creation and creator theory seems to be true when man is unaware of the true self and views and judges the worldview as `I' as self which is false self within the illusory Waking experience.
Man goes on spinning yarn of his imagination on religious base and imagines that the universe has brought into existence by all-wise god with some definite purpose and a set programme. Each atom of this universe be speak of order, discipline organization and balance-testifying to some great mind that has shaped it. And man was not born result of some accident. He was created as superior to all other creatures, to act as the vice-gerent of god upon the earth, blessed with intelligent and rational thinking. He has been given the power to choose between good and evil deeds. This freedom makes answerable to god and his fellow creatures both for his deeds. His conscience guides his steps to discriminate between what is good and what is bad. He may commit sins and mistakes but is also repentance and ability to correct himself.
All man's imagination seems to be true until man is unaware of the true fact that `I' is not the self but `I' is the whole Waking experience. The invisible substance and witness of the `I' or Waking experience which is Atman or spirit is the true self. Therefore it is necessary for seeker to verify about his own existence through inquiry and reasoning in order to realize the fact that `I' is not the self but Atman/soul is the true self and learn to view and judge the worldview on the standpoint of Atman/soul as self to unfold the mystery of the mind which is present as Waking experience.
When one is able to view and judge the worldview on the standpoint Atman then he will realize there is neither the creation nor the creator but only non-dual Atman or spirit will prevail as ultimate
reality of the existence. Therefore it is erroneous to conclude the truth on the base of religion and god. All religious and yogic practices are based on the `I' as self which is false identity and consider the Waking experience as reality which is mere illusion. Hence it is very much necessary to verify one's own identity before indulging in truth pursuit.
reality of the existence. Therefore it is erroneous to conclude the truth on the base of religion and god. All religious and yogic practices are based on the `I' as self which is false identity and consider the Waking experience as reality which is mere illusion. Hence it is very much necessary to verify one's own identity before indulging in truth pursuit.
The religious and yogic discipline which is practiced on the false identity of `I' as self, in order to get freedom from cycle birth and death will neither bear neither desired neither fruits nor endures. The spiritual path which not known to fail is the one which is self imposed, determined and readily applied by inner urge of the seeking mind. Seeking mind is free to mould its mindset as best as it could.
The freedom from religious and yogic mindset helps the seeking mind to create a new spiritual order in its pursuit of truth.
The seeker has to be vigilant about the tricks of the memory, steadfastness is necessary in spiritual pursuit. Seekers of truth realize the fact that looking into the past with the trials and errors, acts of commission and omission ,regrets and fear ,passion love and hatred ,personal tragedies are happening within the illusory Waking experience.
Whatever happening within the Waking experience is mere illusion and transitory including the seemingly indissoluble human ties, more so wealth and fame, and thus not worth moment to regret. Nothing is changeless and lasting in the Waking experience but the invisible substance and witness which is the Atman or spirit.
People take super natural power and miracles as the sure sign of perfection, but few understands the supernatural powers or miracles are the part and parcel of the illusory experience. Whatever is seen known, believed and experienced as real within the illusory Waking experience is bound to be illusion. The way to liberation from the experience of duality, of which supernatural powers are totally incapable. Only through knowledge of the true self it is possible to overcome the experience of duality.
The religious seekers think genuine devotion, irrespective of labels and nomenclature, no doubt surcharged with it, but the devotion which is imagined on the false self and devotion to imaginary belief of god within the illusory Waking experience. Thus devotion cannot transport the seeker beyond the illusory state. The truth is within the Waking experience as its invisible substance and it is apart from the Waking experience as its invisible witness. Since it is not an entity or identity within the Waking experience it is apart from it.
So, much lies in the power of Atman, the burden must be left entirely to the Atman, which is the invisible substance and witness of the Waking experience and it is the true self. Without it there is nothing exist. Whatever exist everything is Atman because there is no second thing in the Waking experience of diversity.
The Waking experience is like a web and the focus of attention of Atman on the web creates the illusory reality. When the attention of Atman the true self on itself the whole illusory web dissolves and becomes one with Atman.
For the serious seeking mind which rejects the reality of the Waking experience and turn its attention on the Atman which is the true self and is the invisible substance and witness of the Waking experience, for such aspirant mind F.S teachings evokes the spiritual response of great magnitude. Religion and yoga are fruitless pursuit based on the non-extent imaginary goal because they take false self as real and false experience as reality. F.S teachings propound and which proves of the immense benefit to those who adopts it.
The spiritual surrender is not a mental stillness or oral act, but result of wisdom, which comes when the seeking mind becomes fully aware of its natural state which is formless and non-dual in nature which called Atman or spirit. To cause the automatic subsidence of the self asserting element in the seeking minds nature this stands in its way to ultimate realization.
The grace which comes from fully earned hard internal fight or mental effort through inquiry and reasoning and analysis, by long period of suffering, and aversion to religious belief and intense yearning for release. Suffering turns the mid inwards and eventfully draws out of the cry from the depths of the self for the liberating light of truth.
The seeker has to become capable of viewing and judging all phenomena and events of the Waking experience as mere illusion. The Waking experience is an object to the Atman which is the true self.
Every religionists/yogis /theorist are propagating their own accepted truth, over and over again. They are merely propagating their truth, but none of them are able to establish it with certainty, which can be verified here and now, not in the next life or next world.
Simply repeating /reading/hearing what scriptures say or whatever god men or guru says does not make one to assimilate, understand and realize the non dual truth. Seeker should not accept anything as truth, until he verifies the fact of all the claims, for himself by his own reasoning on the true base.
Seeker has to understand the fact that whatever is based on the form [I] is falsehood and whatever is based on the formless [Atman] is the truth. When the subconscious is able to discriminate everything on the base of Atman, then it will start discriminating everything on the base of formless, and reject whatever is based on the form. Finally nothing exists to reject other then Atman. Finally, the Ataman will prevail as ultimate truth.
Seeker has to establish the truth for himself by verifying himself by reasoning on the true base, not by blindly believing what others say, or what scriptures say. Once he creates a formless base mentally by replacing the form base which was discriminating good and bad, negative or positive in worldly life will start discriminating truth and untruth or real or unreal and start rejecting the untruth/unreal and starts accepting only truth /real.
Simply quoting the doctrines and sages will not help true seekers, in their pursuit of truth. Seeker has to use appropriate methodology for one to cognize those truths that are being stated within oneself by oneself. Truth pursuit is not an intellectual pursuit, but a spiritual understanding/realization.
Just as a ripened fruit separates effortlessly from the tree and falls, the seeker who is ripened and matured, will be able to grasp the non dual truth.
Truth realization takes place when one becomes aware of the fact that ‘I’ is not self and start identifying with the formless Self. Giving up one physical identity such as ‘I am this and replacing it with another ‘I am that, does not get to the root of the problem of false identification:
Thinking, ‘I am a person who has renounced’ is only mental imagination. In realm of truth transcends such imagination. Only remain in the non duality, which is the natural state, is true renunciation, the nature of liberation.
It is not thinking repeatedly, ‘I am someone who has renounced the worldly life’. Therefore, not thinking is a far superior renunciation to thinking. Like the thought, ‘I am caught in bondage’, the thought, ‘I am one who is free from bondage’ indicates the delusion of regarding the self as being limited to the body. When that delusion is destroyed, along with it, both of these ignorance will cease. Unless the ‘I am the body’ belief is present, there can be no possibility of overcoming the illusory experience of duality. This it is necessary to know what is mind/’I’ and what is substance of mind/’I’.
So long as one thinks “I am in bondage”, thoughts of liberation and bondage will remain because one is still in the experience of duality [waking/dream]. When one analysis the three states, then one becomes aware mentally of the formless witness of the three states.” On the standpoint of the formless witness the three states are mere mirage. And the formless witness which is the soul/ the true Self alone remains, eternally free, where the duality cannot exist.’

The general supposition amongst most religionists is that renouncing the worldly life demonstrates one’s commitment to following the spiritual path full time, and by extension, somehow makes it easier to meditate and realize the Self. But inner renunciation was more important than outer renunciation. Renunciation of worldly life is not a qualification in pursuit of truth. The serious seeker who is a householder can get non dual wisdom.’ Living a normal life as a holder is not a disadvantage in making spiritual progress.
Non dual Peace can never be attained by one who subjects himself to ignorance by embracing the waking/experience as reality. Suffering or fear will never be experienced by one who renounces this ignorance and reaches the source of the three states.
Think and think
Think and think
One cannot say the three states are real because they cannot exist by themselves without the support of soul/self. The three states are reality only on the base of ‘I’ which is the false self.
Think and think
One cannot say the three states is same as Atman, nor one can say it is different from Atman nor one can say it same and different from Atman on the base of ‘I’ ,which is the false self .
Think and think
One cannot the experience of diversity as real from the standpoint of point of the soul which is the formless substance and witness of the three states.
Think and think
No one can say it does not have parts from the stand point of the formless substance and witness .diversity is reality only on the base of false self [‘I’] soul/self’s true nature indescribable.
Think and think
The inert is consciousness. It can exist with or without the objective awareness. In experience of diversity there is illusory motion. But in the realm of its true nature it is motionless.
Think and think
All 'the three states are nothing but Atman and there is nothing whatsoever - other than Ataman which is the form of consciousness.
Think and think
Every object is within the waking/dream - it is not a self-existent entity. Non dual existence alone is true existence and eternal. Atman alone pervades in everything and everywhere in experience of diversity [waking/dream].
Think and think
Three states cannot exist independent of Ataman. The formless conscious entity is the true self /soul. But its existence is established by knowledge of the true self
Why You Are Not Your Brain, and Other Lessons from the Biology of Consciousness
by :Alva Noƫ. Hill and Wang, 2009
Alva No, a University of California, Berkeley, philosopher and cognitive scientist, argues that after decades of concerted effort on the part of neuroscientists, psychologists and philosophers "only one
proposition about how the brain makes us conscious ... has emerged unchallenged: we don't have a clue." The reason we have been unable to explain the neural basis of consciousness, he says, is that it does not take place in the brain. Consciousness is not something that happens inside us but something we achieve it is more like dancing than it is like the digestive process. To understand consciousness the fact that ,we think and feel and that a world shows up for us we need to look at a larger system of which the brain is only one element. Consciousness requires the joint operation of brain, body and world. "You are not your brain. The brain, rather, is part of what you are."

"Gnani is the one who has acquired the non dual wisdom - hence from his understanding he realizes the truth about the worldly life. Atman alone is real and Gnani is fully aware of the fact that the whole waking experience which consist him and his experience of the world are Atman in their substance. Thus everything is Atman.
Seeker with humility will be able to recognize what he knows is so little in comparison to what he needed to know. The only medicine that he can cure his ego is a little spoon of "humility." Without this medicine, he will likely argue for ever and lose the path to reach his non dual destination. The seeker has seriously indulged in inquiry; analysis and reasoning without mixing up his accumulate knowledge and verify the truth of the guidance expounded by the F.S. seeker has to spare some time and think and understand assimilate the un-contradictable truth. The seeker has to study enough understands what he wants to know and clear all misunderstandings, doubts and confusion. There is no use of arguing with others but his own self until he gets each and every point of his doubts and confusion get cleared.
The ego means physical self or limiting the mind to the physical body. Every action is associated with a series of thought processes within the waking experience. But the point is, the ego, while being involved in this action does not get into other thoughts which are unrelated to this action. If one leaves the ego to itself it will wander aimlessly over things totally unrelated to each other. This dissipation of the ego does not occur when one focuses it into one action. While doing that action it dwells on only those things which are related to the main action. To this extent action itself disciplines the ego. Of course it may not be a complete discipline. But in some sense there is mostly a uni-directional restriction or piloting of the ego. The whole human experience is based on the ego. The ego cannot be destroyed by action and conduct and deeds.
One has to understand the fact that, the ego, physical body and the world exists together. If one is missing the duality is impossible. Thus it is no use of struggling to overcome only the ego. All other teachings propagate to overcome the ego to get self-knowledge. Only F.S says there is no use of struggling to overcome the ego. It is impossible to overcome the ego with the ego. Only by proper and perfect understanding of the mind, it is possible to overcome duality.
