Inborn conviction as an individual separate from the world and world existed prior to him, and he is born is this world keeps one in the grip of illusion. This illusion makes him experience the duality as reality. There is something is within and apart from the three states which is aware of the three states, which appear and disappear in succession.
All efforts are within the illusion. All efforts are nothing to do with the soul, the innermost self. There is no need for physical effort but mental effort of realizing ‘what is truth’ and ‘what is untruth’. When the soul, the innermost self-wakes up without the illusion then it is only the effortless existence.
All the paths propagate different truth. Instead of wasting time to get realization through physical effort, the seeker has to realize the fact that, the self is neither the waking entity not the self is dream entity but the self is formless soul, which witnesses the coming and going of the three states. If the self is not the waking entity than all the theories based on the waking entity (ego) is bound to be falsehood because of their views on non-duality on dualistic perspective. The wisdom dawns only when the reason is based on the on Non-dualistic perspective. 99% of the paths are based on dualistic perspective thus they are not the means for Non-dualistic or Advaitic wisdom. All dualistic propagated truth is only mere imagination based on the false self (waking entity) within the false experience (waking).
Without wisdom it is impossible to get self-realization. By closing your eyes thinking there is only there is only or uttering some mantra is only mental acrobatics. Instead of wasting time in all types of practices one must think deeply to find out the truth about: - ‘What is this ‘I’? ‘What is this mind? ‘What is this universe?’ ‘What is this waking?

Only when waking entity realizes what is truth and what is
untruth one is able to negate mentally the untruth by sticking to the truth. By
realizing the untruth (mind or the universe or waking or ‘I’) is made of the
truth (soul or consciousness) and in reality the untruth (mind) and the truth
(soul) are one in essence soul enters in its own non-dualistic awareness in the midst
of the duality (untruth). In
self-awareness the body is not the body, the ego is not the ego and the world
is not the world but they are nothing but consciousness. Thus no second thing exists other than
consciousness. Thus consciousness alone is, all else is mere mirage (untruth).
